  1. Maybe he/she should have, but he/she didn't? Of course Polian and the Colts are going to let Manning go anywhere, but if anyone thinks signing Asomugha is realistic, I'll have some of what you are smoking.
  2. I don't think it is that owners charge more, it is that more people will go to the games, advertisers will pay more since it is national TV not local announcers and TV, TV Ratings are higher. More people at the games equals more booze, souvenirs, etc. sold. Currently season Tix holders are forced to buy the preseason games, but many don't go, which means less booze, souvenir sales, etc. In one way or another, every single issue that the owners are disputing boils down to them getting more money, they are businessmen, that is what they do, and always will.
  3. He sure does sound like he is just a barrel of monkeys. How the heck does he watch the Bills on sundays? If you are a Bills fan and haven't had a sense of humor for the past decade, sundays must be hell.
  4. Peyton Manning-simple, he is the best player in the NFL and we have no franchise quarterback and haven't for 15 years.
  5. I understand the whole post is kind of childish and stupid, but lighten up man. Is the town named after you? You sure did that this dumb post pretty personal.
  6. They actually had two bye weeks per team a few years back, if I am not mistaken it only lasted for one year. It makes sense, but I think the owners are looking to keep the same number of total games, including preseason, but increase the gate take in by making two of the preseason games regular season games. They try to say it is for the fans, because nobody likes preseason games, but anyone can see through that BS line and know it is all about money. Two bye weeks would be good for the players, but as a fan, at least for me when they did it, it sucked. Your idea is the exact opposite of what the owners are trying to do. They are trying to change two preseason games to regular season games to increase the money taken in at the gate, and make fans want to pay to go to the game. If they let the fans in free, they are better off leaving it the way it is now.
  7. Ralph is Cheap, there is a salary cap but there is also a minimum salary that he has to pay his roster-so it can only be so low. Where he has been the cheapest and the area that has had, and continues to the current day to have the biggest negative impact on the success of the team is how he nickels and dimes to hire front office personnel and coaches. For anyone not in a coma, that isn't even arguable. His failure to spend money on people who decide where to spend the money results in the Bills having, if my memory serves me, the Bills, owners of one of the worst defenses in the NFL have 13 defensive players making over a million dollars next year, not counting Poz or Whitner if they were to come back. If they do, that would be 15 players making over a million dollars for a pathetic defense. That proves the point I am making all by itself.
  8. Miami resigned him for 3 years, I guess Buudy didn't know anything afterall?
  9. It would kinda suck taking a QB in the second round after they just took one in the first round.
  10. Why do you wish we drafted McCoy when we got Spiller? He should have been rookie of the year (sarcasm intended).
  11. My guess is the question is alot more complicated than just choosing from those two players-I would think there is at least 3 or 4 they are debating. To defer taking the pick and giving up the best chance this organization has had in a quarter century to draft a franchise changing player would be plain stupid and cowardly. The draft is all about taking chances, sure there is a chance it might not succeed, but if you don't take a chance you will NEVER succeed.
  12. Good question? I guess because people enjoy being a bad team and want to keep our league leading streak of years without making the playoffs intact. Seems like every under achieving, over paid, draft bust that is cut-has plenty of people on TBD screaming for the Bills to sign them. Then again, maybe the team is listening, could explain our futility for so long.
  13. It was one of the organizations biggest mistakes over recent memory, not signing him, especially as much as he wanted to stay here. That said, he is the oldest defensive player in the league, and at that size, that is a big deal, not to mention he is a 4-3 DT, which we are a 3-4 defensive team (and it worked so well last year), and the biggest problem-he wants to go to a team who has a chance of winning-ain't happening here for awhile, if ever while Ralph is around.
  14. Actually it isn't even a little it of a shocker, they were talking about that the entire post season. He was due to make something like $10 million this year, so it was a no brainer. Would be a nice pickup for us, he is decent, he just hasn't played up to the level of the player that someone drafted where he was should have played. That said, this past season was probably his best in the NFL, so it would be a good pickup for a team that needs so much help on defense like the Bills do.
  15. If you have your heart set on that, you might just be a little disappointed. If this is true, I am glad Brohm is gone, if it isn't true, I hope it becomes true, real soon, he is barely an NFL #3 much less #2 or #1. Maybe he can catch on in the UFL, J.P. won a championship and his skills are far above Brohm's-and that isn't saying a whole lot.
  16. The Jets weren't a playoff team when they picked him or they wouldn't have had the #6 pick in the draft. How many teams do you think were saying that they should have grabbed Mike Williams, he was picked #4 in the draft? Even if they were a playoff team, that doesn't mean they can't miss on a pick here and there, all teams do. Unless he comes at minimum salary and earns a spot, I don't see the sense in taking someone who has failed so miserably when given every change to succeed.
  17. Don't throw your shoulder out patting yourself on the back, you weren't the only one who thought cutting him was just another in the odd moves this new front office has made. It was all about money, why else would they create another hole in the leagues worst run defense. This front office hasn't made a whole lot of moves yet that make sense, starting with last years draft right up to releasing Stroud, who will now haunt us playing for the Pats. Let's hope under all these unexplainable moves that Buddy and Chan actually do have a plan and that they stay on the course and it actually works, although I will believe it when I see it.
  18. Good for him. His play declined but he was a good locker room guy with a good attitude. Gotta be happy for a guy like him who can go from Ralph's Outhouse to the Penthouse.
  19. If the Bills players fill out the shirt anything like one of the sexiest women on the planet do (Alyssa Milano), they will win less games then they already do!
  20. I certainly hope so, and what I mean by that is, whomever we do draft, I hope he finally turns out to be the franchise quarterback. You never know on draft day if you drafted your franchise quarterback or not, since we have drafted our "franchise quarterback" twice now in the past 6 or 7 years (Losman & Edwards), it just didn't end up being so in the long run. There is no sure bet, especially with drafting quarterbacks, but if we don't take the chance, we never will get our franchise quarterback, and with that said, we will never be a winning team again. I like Fitz alot, but he is in no way even close to being a franchise quarterback.
  21. I didn't realize he had a injury history, he must have got hit in the head with his surfboard. As far as I can remember he was healthy, just got beat out and drastically outplayed by Doug Flutie. I would say if a scout was to pick one just on physical ability without knowing anything else about them, he would pick Losman, who had the mobility and a cannon arm. If they went by an intelligent factor, probably Edwards. If they went by who got out of town the quickest after the game and who had the most blond streaks in his hair it would have been Johnson.
  22. The first thought that came to my mind was also Joe Cribbs. I still remember a big sign someone hang over the side at Rich Stadium that said "O.J. who? Oh! J. Cribbs"
  23. I kinda agree with you, but when you think about it, the draft is an educated crap shoot anyway. There has never been a quarterback from college that everyone was sold on or didn't have flaws that worried teams. Bill Polian got criticized alot for taking Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf in 1998. I don't think you ever know for sure if a college QB is gonna be great in the NFL, but I do know that the Bills have needed a franchise quarterback for a decade and a half now, and if they don't take the chance, drafting the highest in the draft that they have since they took Bruce Smith #1 overall, they never will get a franchise quarterback, which in turns means they will never be serious contenders.
  24. If I thought there was a chance for him to stay healthy it was a great move, but he has played 9 games in the past 3 seasons. The Bills have already signed a linebacker that cannot stay healthy, why risk it with another defender who spends more time on the injured list than on the football field?
  25. I totally agree with your post, and I really like Fitz, but in my opinion there is no dispute that he can throw touchdowns, but my biggest issue with him is about every other game he makes a mistake that is so dumb and minor league that it costs the Bills the game or has the potential too. I guess what I am saying is that he makes up for his lack of talent and arm strength, by taking a whole lot of chances, sometimes they play out for the good but sometimes they turn into crucial mistakes too.
