Maybe if we are lucky, they trade Kolb and the Canadiens won't let Michael Vick into their country. We still won't have more fans there then the Eagles do, but it might be a closer game. The 2011 version of Ralph A**f**king the fans of the Bills.

Poll on whether Fitz is the right guy or not
billsfreak replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you are only good enough to win 4 games in the regular season it really doesn't matter that you aren't good enough to win in the Postseason, because you will never get close to playing after the 16th game. -
Whoever doesn't want a QB at #3 is dillusional
billsfreak replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whoever doesn't want a QB at #3 is dillusional- Dillusional may be putting it a little too nicely. Of course this team isn't going to win until we have a franchise quarterback. We haven't won anything since our last franchise QB retired almost a decade and a half ago. If every year you say, "The quarterbacks in the draft aren't guaranteed to be locks as Pros", but they never are, and if you say this every year you never will get the guy until you take that chance. Anyone who knows even a sprinkling of football, knows Fitz will never be nothing more than a good backup. Are there many other holes on this team that need to be filled to win? Of course there are, but the QB position is the most important on the team, and takes the longest to groom a player out of all the positions. -
I have to disagree with you on that, my guess is he will make it to the second quarter of the first game before he is done for the season. I do agree, what a waste of money. He has been washed up for abotut 5 years, and hurt for about 4 of those years when added up. Good thing Nix didn't assist in drafting Joey Harrington, Akili Smith or Matt Leinert or the Bills might have given one of them a couple year deal too.
-
Why? Because Spiller was such a huge success his rookie year? Just the opposite, Nix blew the draft last season, Spiller was the most disappointing rookie in the class of 2010, league wide when you take into consideration where he was picked, the hype that came with him and the fact that he was absolutely lost on the field all year long.

Possible link to new uniform color
billsfreak replied to Frostbelt City's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kinda like the draft? Maybe because they don't know yet what they are going to do with the uniforms either? Or have no clue at all like the draft, as well as the last time they changed the uniforms. -

Good point. There is also a clock in the letter "C" in the word Countdown. Maybe we are going to have clocks on our helmets? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... -
Are you hoping things get worse at the QB position then they already are? I really didn't think it could get much worse, but after reading your post, I was shockingly wrong. Simms, last I heard was knee deep in legal problems and Snead will never accomplish what Losman or Edwards already have. What the Bills need is to draft Newton or Gabbert to back Fitz up for one year, or a part of a year and turn the team over to the young gun and hope for the best. We have most likely seen Fitz's best season, last year, and can only go down hill from there. It would be worth it to resign Fitz as a backup as that is what he is best suited as.

"Buffalo is a black hole of draft information "
billsfreak replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That can mean a good thing or a bad thing. If they are intentionally able to hide their intentions from everyone else and indeed have a gameplan for the draft that is great. On the other hand, and more likely than not, it is because like last year, they are unsure of what they want to do, don't know what to do, are waiting for Ralph to tell them what to do or will just plain guess like last year. Any of the reasons in the second scenario are bad for the Bills and their fans. I don't think he is under contract. Always a chance Nix can bring him back and Gailey can name him the starter and the face of the franchise again then can him two weeks later. What a display of cluelessness that was. -
Would you mind if the Bills trade back twice ??
billsfreak replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Replying to Would you mind if the Bills trade back twice ?? I don't think the Bills care if I mind or not, but it would be pretty retarded if they did. But then again so was the way they handled last years draft. -
Nix wishes he had the #1 pick this year
billsfreak replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix wishes he had the #1 pick this year Who does he think will be gone? This is simple. Cam Newton. All signs are pointing to the Panthers taking him at #1. My gut feeling is Nix wants this guy in a bad way, and so does Gailey, he is the type of QB that he has had success with in the past. -
Don't draft a QB because the Bills have done so great drafting other positions. (obvious sarcasm intended).

Wow uhm Tebow didnt have a bad season, what gives
billsfreak replied to ReyesCaballero17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh McDaniel was one of the few people in the NFL who thought Tebow was a first round QB. McDaniel was like a Tornado in Denver, he came in, destroyed the franchise and was gone almost just as quickly. He did so much damage to that franchise with his personnel moves in such a short time, that he makes Donahue look like Bill Polian. Everyone said that Tebow was a couple years away from being an NFL caliber QB, if he was ever going to be. -

Rumor: Trade Between Bills and Eagles
billsfreak replied to Bangarang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those two were behind two of the greatest QBs in history (and Young is already in the HOF and Rodgers will most likely end up there someday), you can't say that for Kolb. Kolb was handed the job last year when they dumped McNabb and he couldn't keep it. You can't say it was totally because of injury, because Vick was hurt and Kolb started a couple games, yet they still went back to Vick? If you want a good comparison to Kolb, try Rob Johnson, he had a good game or two so a franchise assumed he would be the franchise, only to be disappointed. If Kolb was so great, the Eagles would have stayed with him, instead of giving 20 million a year to a 30+ year old quarterback with a history of injuries and off the field problems of epic proportions. -

Some people talk without doing any research. -
Exactly, and what is even more disturbing is it was done with at least 3 different front office teams. Goes to show you what Ralph being a cheap ass owner gets you, hiring dollar store front office personnel. Like someone else said, over the past 5 years we have Jairus Byrd probably being the best, after a good rookie year (although Mark Sanchez handed him almost half his picks in one game), he was pathetic his second year. So far, and hopefully it changes, Spiller is up there with the Mike Williams, Erik Flowers picks. Erik Wood has potential to be a good one if they keep him in one position and he stays healthy. Probably the best pick over the past decade was Lee Evans and Marshawn Lynch after that and this joke of a front office gave him away. Overall this franchise has been a disaster with regards to the draft.

Rumor: Trade Between Bills and Eagles
billsfreak replied to Bangarang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kinda agree, I haven't figured out what the big deal with Kolb is. Every time I have seen him play he has been anything but great. I would just as soon see them take a flyer with one of the QBs in this draft. -
Can the Bills to blow this 3rd pick ?
billsfreak replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, with the recent history of this franchise and Ralph's low budget front office, it would be a bigger surprise if they get it correct than if they don't. -
I think they listened to you 2 years ago and drafted Maybin. It proves the draft is a crapshoot whether you draft offense or defense. A team rarely ever wins without a franchise quarterback and we don't have close, but it takes a QB longer to develop than a good LB or DL.

Can the Bills to blow this 3rd pick ?
billsfreak replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They certainly could blow the 3rd pick, I sure hope not, but they blew the first round pick last year on one of the few positions that we had depth at and on a player that was so overwhelmed in the NFL that he was the 2010 Drafts biggest disappointment, league wide. -
Spiller - lost in the shuffle of this offseason
billsfreak replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It can't be any worse than the 2010 season for Spiller, who without a doubt was the most disappointing rookie in the entire draft class when you consider where he was drafted, the hype and what was expected from him. -
My guess is that in the year of 2025, when Fitz is sitting in his living room with his very intelligent, grand kids with oversized heads, he will be telling stories about the 2010 season as "The highlight of my professional career."
-
You are 100% accurate, in that anyone who even suggests that Fitz is a Championship level QB is on some serious drugs or just not all there upstairs. He is a nice guy, exciting at times, frustrating at times, but nothing more than a stop gap/bridge to a Franchise quarterback that we hopefully will eventually get. In a perfect scenario for the Bills, they draft a QB this year and he plays behind Fitz for a season, and maybe the season after that Fitz is his backup, if he doesn't leave for somewhere to get a shot at playing.
-
Actually it was a QB just as good in Aaron Rodgers. Raplesberger isn't doing too bad either, with 3 SB appearances and 2 Lombardi trophies since we drafted Losman.
