  1. This team has so many holes and weaknesses, you need to hit on the entire draft to improve this team more than just a little bit. Look at this team. Everyone knows how bad the run defense is, and because of that, we really don't know how good the pass defense is, becuase nobody was forced to throw at them. Our quarterback situation isn't as bad as it has been, but Fitz is nothing more than average or a good backup at best, Levi is a project with a low chance of ever amounting to anything and Brohm's NFL career is most likely over. Our Offensive line has a couple good young prospects, but at the tackles we have other teams throw aways. I could go on and on, but my point is there has to be alot more picks that turn out successful than just the #3 pick in the draft for it to even make a noticeable difference in this team. There are a handful of positions that are more needy than others, and I would think that you would have to take the most sure thing at one of those most needy positions with the #3 pick in the draft. If they approach the #3 pick like they did the #9 pick last year though, it will be another waste of a pick that good front offices select future Pro Bowl players with.
  2. If we can watch them, let's hope the shoulder shrugging and dumb look in their eyes is at a minium then.
  3. I agree that it might take a little time, but if you wait 4 years, you will be saying that that pick finally turned out to be good now that he is playing for another team because his rookie contract is up and he left as a free agent. That is the reality of the NFL today, so is that really a good draft, when they finally pan out after 3 or 4 years just in time to leave for big bucks somewhere else? What does the team that drafts them get out of it besides at best a low compensatory pick in the draft? If you ever watched Spiller trying to block in the backfield, yes he did look terrible-"lost" is another good way to describe his rookie year. He WAS the biggest disappointment in the entire draft when you take the draft slot, expectations and everything else in consideration.
  4. I am on the board 3 days before the draft, as well as the other 364 days of the year for the most part, not sure what that has to do with it. Making a comment about why someone is being stressed out over something they have no control over, is in no way being a hater. And as far as being an A**hole, your post describes that more than any other on this subject.
  5. I think that can only be a good thing for the Bills front office. I really think they either want Cam Newton or Von Miller and if the Skins trade with Denver, one of their two choices will be there.
  6. Nothing against Fitzy, but I sure hope you are a female if you are calling him SEXY?
  7. They were pleasant surprises, but since they weren't drafted, and that is what the article is about they aren't included. Like I have said in the recent past, the Bills got as much if not more production from the undrafted rookies in 2010 than they did from their draft picks.
  8. 2010's Worst Drafts I guess I am not the only one who thinks Buddy and the gang blew their first draft in Buffalo. Let's hope the second time through the process is a charm. Go Bills!
  9. I really like them, especially when compared to the joke of a uniform that they are replacing. It brings up a couple questions though: 1. Does that mean they still have the same "Throwback" unis? My guess is yes, they are just as awesome if not more than the new ones. 2. Now that it is leaked, do you think the Bills will expedite the "unveiling" of the new ones before Western New York is full of people wearing bootleg jerseys? Or will they still wait for a new CBA so players can be at the unveiling? 3. Was there some sort of agreement between the Bills and the makers of the game? The video has been yanked from You Tube. Lawsuit? 4. Besides a few tweeks, these are essentially throwback uniforms themselves, from the late 70's-early 80's. Will they bring back "We're Talking Proud" with them? A little bad humor. 5. Does anything go right for this organization? You know they didn't want this leaked, they wanted to make a big deal about it and turn it into some sort of money making event.
  10. Although he wouldn't be my first choice, I would have no problem with them taking Peterson at #3. McGee couldn't get on the field much at all last year. McFumble was only a shadow of his rookie season. Florence is not even under contract. The only reason it would make sense, is like you said, most so called experts say that Peterson is the best player in the draft by far. He is big for a DB, returns kicks with the best of them and can even play wideout.
  11. I pretty much agree with you, the only way it would make sense to trade up, is if the QB they "really" want is available at the end of round one (Ponder?), and they feel they have to jump the Bengals in order to get him.
  12. Why? Did he have bloodshot eyes and the munchies?
  13. Well said. That has been my whole point. Are we sure that Spiller is going to be as lost his whole career as he was last year? No of course not. Are we sure that he will never be the 30 carries a game workhorse running back? That is safe to say, in fact until he can figure out how to block in the backfield he is going to be more of a weakness than a strength. Like you said, it was way too high to take a luxury pick, a situational back on a terrible team, who if there was any depth it was with two 1,000 yard rushers already on the roster. They could have drafted at almost any other position on the roster and it would have made more sense than taking Spiller. He might give us one or two exciting kick returns or long runs from a screen pass a year, but it would have contributed alot more to this franchise becoming a winning team if they had a 10 year left tackle, a stud defensive end, etc. than it does having a running back with the potential for excitement all 10-12 times per game that he touches the ball.
  14. I am a life long Bills fan, but I have no stake or say in the draft, and I am guessing neither do you, so why are you stressing? I can't imagine how you handle real life situations that really affect you.
  15. It isn't Mallet's physical abilities or lack of swagger that have him sliding so far down the draft, it is the question marks about his personal behavior.
  16. You never know what to believe around draft time, with all the smoke screens teams put up because they don't want to show their hands. Most years, the first round pick would already have agreed to a contract or be close to agreeing with the team drafting first, but with no CBA they can't do that this year. Common sense would say that since the Panthers have something like 7 QBs (one a 2nd rounder last year)on their roster already, and have more holes than swiss cheese, they wouldn't take a QB #1 overall. I do get the feeing though that if Newton is available at #3 for the Bills he is coming to Buffalo, whether fans like it or not, I think Gailey and Nix are high on this guy. At the same time, their affection for Gabbert, my gut feeling is one of those draft smoke screens, and that if Newton isn't there they are going to go defense and try to get a QB in the second round, possibly Ponder.
  17. It will take you some research to find another team that didn't at least have one rookie from their draft class last season make at least some sort of impact. The Bills got more impact from non-drafted rookies than from their draft picks. You are right, the Bills were a Bad Team and will continue to be a bad team with drafts like the 2010 draft. Are you going to fix all the problems on the Bills in one year, not a chance, but if you strike out on the entire draft, no progress is ever going to be made. If you can't get one or two starters out of 7 picks, then the draft would be considered a failure in anyone's book.
  18. People Tend To Forget Last Year's Picks Most people don't TEND to forget last year's picks, they TRY to forget last years picks. The only pick that really did anything was Moats, and that wasn't until the last 4 or 5 games. The first round pick was criticized by everyone as a luxury pick on a bad team, which should never happen-and it turned out to be a terrible pick. Troup really did nothing, as did any of the other picks. Buddy blew his first draft in Buffalo, let's hope he doesn't blow his second, or the so called genius might be gone as quick as he came here, just like Donohue and some of the other failures Ralphy has hired.
  19. For all the Gabbert enuthsiasts sell me on him Why do we have to sell you on him? Is it your choice? Sweet, must be nice to have that power.
  20. Wow! I gotta believe he will go to the Dolphins so she can spend all year in that bikini. If Ponder and his girl came to Buffalo, they would have to double the fire extinguishers at the Ralph, she is freaking hot as you know where!
  21. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want Palmer here, but by your theory (just wins and losses) you would take Edwards over Palmer? That might be the only case I would want Palmer.
  22. Don't bet your house that there will be a salary cap when and if a new CBA is agreed to. A year ago when it was determined that they would play the 2010 season with no cap, most so called experts on ESPN, NFL Network, etc. said you would never see a cap again, at least in the form that they had it. Even if there is with the new CBA, nobody (outside of the people in the meetings, and that isn't guaranteed) knows what the cap level will be, so how can you know how far under it we are? As far as the numbers, they at least in part explain why this franchise has been so bad for so long. Almost $11 million to Merriman and McGee, who combined might have played 3 games last year. Over 2 and a half million to Hangartner, who has been a disaster since they signed him. 1.2 Million for Reggie Corner, why is he even still here? More than 5.5 million to Kelsay, while not as bad as alot of his haters on this board think he is, still that much for him, playing out of position?
  23. No way in heck would you want to trade for Palmer. He hasn't been anything but average at best since he tore his knee up in the playoff game against the Steelers. Yes, he did play with Fitzy, and as almost any Bengal fan will tell you, Fitzy outplayed him. He has something like 50 million more dollars guaranteed on his contract, so even if he was Joe Montana in his prime, Ralphy wouldn't allow it. I will be the first to admit that Fitzy isn't the answer in Buffalo, and really will never be nothing more than a really good backup, but Palmer is not a step up even in the least bit. Unless a team already has a playoff/championship caliber roster and needs a quarterback, no team should pay that to a quarterback like Palmer that hasn't been impressive. Now, I don't dislike Palmer, in fact I kinda admire him for all the crap and losing he has put up with in Cincy for almost a decade and kept his mouth shut, but with the lack of talent in Buffalo, bringing him in would make about as much of a difference to the end of the year record that adding T.O. did a couple years ago. The only answer is to draft a franchise quarterback if they believe one is out there, and the Bills will never be a championship competitor until they do that.
