Six teams turn down Hard Knocks. Who's next?
billsfreak replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there is some $$$ to stuff in Ralphie's wallet, he won't let Nix say no. Besides, maybe if they accepted, someone outside of Bills fans would remember this team exists, maybe they could use the attention? -
I would love to say Dareus, but my gut tells me it is going to be A.J. Green. The Bengals sucked last year, but I really think alot of it was team chemistry that snowballed into a lousy season. They are just one season removed from running the table in a very tough division and winning the division title. The biggest question with them is who is going to be quarterbacking, since it appears Palmer won't be there. If they do go with Andy Dalton the rookie, then I think their TE's will have big numbers and I would say Dareus, but if the Bengals bring in a veteran QB or convince Carson Palmer to look like an idiot and come in, then I will go with Green.

Maybe everywhere he has been the refer to him as a "Quarterback Genius" (a total joke in itself) like alot of the people on this board have, and he has paid too much attention to that and let it go to his head.
-
I totally agree. Right now he is projected as nothing more than a training camp body to push around (gonna take some pushing though). If he even turns into a situational player a few years down the road, it would be a pleasant surprise seeing as to where he was drafted and the fact that he wasn't even on anyone else's draft board from what I have read.

Sabres are paying for their own remodeling

Probably so, and I bet would be willing to be he is 100x more willing to spend it. -
Sabres are paying for their own remodeling
billsfreak replied to Scrappy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That is because they now have an owner who is committed to winning and having a class organization, not just stuffing his already filled pockets. That remodeling wouldn't be happening at owner's/team/s expense if the owner's name was Ralph Wilson. -
our horrible drafts have a bright side
billsfreak replied to loserlovers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you would rather spin your wheels in the mud so you can keep spinning your wheels in the mud? Suck at the draft so we can keep sucking on the field? Are you in charge at One Bills Drive? That might explain why things have went the way they have been going for the past 15 years. -
You can go to a party and worry about a guy in shorts on a water slide all night and I will worry about a super model in a bikini, and if you have more fun than I do, you have issues.

That is just one stat, and if you are always behind in the second half you are going to throw alot more than most quarterbacks do. I bet he also is in the top percent of stupid interceptions at the end of the game too. You can look for one stat for almost any player in the league and make it sound positive, so in my opinion your statement is pretty dumb. You are very accurate in your statement. He might be the worst QB in the league that isn't facing any competition for his job, in fact maybe one of the worst ever. He doesn't even have a backup on the roster, much less competition for his job. I like Fitz and think he is an excellent backup QB, but to just give him the job with no competition makes you wonder about Nix and Gailey since you don't need a very good memory to remember they handed the job to Trent Edwards last year and how did that turn out. There is a chance that even though Fitz played maybe his worst games at the end of the season, he might get even better this year. There is also a chance, and a very realistic one that the 2010 season will end up having been the best of his career and after a chance to look at a compilation of film on his play, defenses will prove that he is just a backup and not a NFL quality starter.

I know the feeling, in addition to being a lifelong Bills fan, I have been a Mets fan for over 40 years and that team is about to get repossessed by the banks and Fred Wilpon the owner is going to be homeless. We still wouldn't be competitive in that division, just wouldn't be mathmatically eliminated by October 1st each year. That is true, but they did get to a Super Bowl and at least one other NFC Championship I believe (might be wrong). Last year they were the first team with a losing record to get in the playoffs much less win a game (over the defending Super Bowl Champs). That wouldn't have happened if Buddy and Co. didn't give them Beast Mode for basically nothing.

No NFL? What are your options?
billsfreak replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope your right, but the Cowboys are probably 10% of the events in that stadium at the most. Jerry Jones schedules everything you can imagine in that building from championship boxing to college football to basketball to non sport stuff. -
No NFL? What are your options?
billsfreak replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there is no football this fall, me personally, I am going out and rob some banks, shoot some people, etc. just so the people on this board who defended Ray Lewis can feel good about their dumb remarks. Honestly though, not sure what I would do, but would probably have the nicest looking yard and house in neighborhood. Most likely will attend a few UFL games since I am down by Norfolk, whether there is NFL or not, since this area will never have a major league team in any sport. -
I agree with you, Fitz most likely will never be in the top 50% of the starters in the league, but I guess he makes losing a little more exciting than some of the stiffs we have had lately.
-
That is so true. If you see a football fan outside of the Bills fanbase, all they can tell you about the Bills is that they lost 4 Superbowls. Still?
-
We can hate on this guy all we want, but he is the one sliding down a slide with Gisele at the bottom waiting for him. A drawer full of Super Bowl rings, MVP tropies on the shelf and Gisele waiting in a bikini? Sounds more like jealousy, and before you wig out, I am not a fan of him either, but it is an obvious assumption.

Expect an Increase in Crime if Season is Lost
billsfreak replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't say that, read what you want. All I am saying is that not having football on sundays will have absolutely nothing to do with the crime rate. Wow? What I am saying is the career criminal, which most who commit serious crimes are, aren't typically die hard football fans who put down there weapons to update their fantasy football roster. You must be as ignorant as Ray Lewis is if your post is any indication of your intelligence level. -
It is kinda sad when the only examples that you can come up with to compare to the futility of the Bills are in baseball, where only a small percentage of the teams make the playoffs compared to the NFL where a third of the teams make the playoffs every year and have had a salary cap to allow every team except the Bills and Lions to make the playoffs over the past decade.
-
That could very well be it? Or it could be that in the last 8 years the Seahawks have been in the Playoffs 6 times and the Bills haven't even made it to second place in the division since then. Some people will find any excuse they can dig up to defend the disaster that has been the Buffalo Bills organization for the past decade and a half.

Expect an Increase in Crime if Season is Lost
billsfreak replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I seriously doubt that the thugs that commit 90% of the crimes in the country (and probably a higher percent of serious crimes) put their guns, knives and drugs down on sundays and monday nights and watch football. They are two different crowds who aren't even remotely alike. The fans that "really" care if there isn't a football season this year, will more likely be sitting home board off of their asses, doing yard work, finding another reason to drink a couple beers, go fishing, go to the beach (OK not in Buffalo), to a concert or surf the internet not pick up his semi automatic shotgun and rob a jewelry store. -
And a relatively new Lombardi Trophy to go with an All-Pro quarterback. I am not saying what you are saying is incorrect, but for most of if not all of Winfield's career, 4 teams made the playoffs in the entire Major Leagues, not one third of the teams like in the NFL.
-
It could be sour grapes, since the Bills were the first one to sign him as an undrafted rookie and cut him before training camp even began. Or, it could be because he isn't too far off of the mark on what he says about the Bills. I mean, the only team that can compete with the Bills for the worst team in the NFL over the past decade is the Lions, and they are really a team on the rise, with a franchise quarterback, and several other young stars. I have never been a fan of Hasselbeck either, but I am quite confident that if you asked 50 NFL media types, at least half of them would pick the Bills as the team to be relegated to the "minor leagues." It is a slap in the face to all Bills fans that Ralphy sold out one regular season game a year to Canada, and it is looking more and more like it will end up being more than one game a year real soon. As far as a buzz, there is amongst Bills fans, but there is every year, it has been so long since we have won. I am not a Lions fan, a Bucs fan, or a fan of a few other teams that have been losing as of late (not as much as the Bills have), but I still feel a buzz about their potential, whereas, if you aren't a Bills fan, the Bills don't exist much less have a buzz about them.

Expect an Increase in Crime if Season is Lost
billsfreak replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His statement is probably quite accurate, although not in the way that he intended. I am assuming that me meant an increase in crime amongst people who watch the NFL, when the truth is probably that crime will increase amongst the people that play in the NFL. Alot of them can't seem to stay out of trouble during the off season, so I am sure they would have the same problems if there were no season. I guess Lewis just considers himself an expert at crime, since his fame and money got him out of doing some time, and probably still being in jail to this day. -
History of the Buffalo Bills DVD
billsfreak replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bought it at Training Camp a couple years ago. Was a double dvd set, the second dvd had the comeback game and some other stuff. -
would you want carson palmer for a mid round pick?
billsfreak replied to tbonehawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am fake, but you think a quarterback has nothing to do with the team's record? The Colts would be in Los Angeles right now if it weren't for Peyton Manning. So you could put Fitz on the 90's Bills and they still go to 4 straight Super Bowls? You need to quit, you are sounding more clueless with each post. I wasn't pointing out anymore negatives than positives about Fitz, just facts. -
Can't get any worse than it is now. Trump is a businessman true, but he also is one who likes to succeed and not just make money. Our ownership hasn't felt that way for a long, long time. Personally I would love to see Mark Cuban take over, he does anything within his capabilities to try to put a winner on the field.
