Best player nickname I've read on the Wall...
billsfreak replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen! There sure is a pattern lately with the Bills' draft picks and it has nothing to do with skin color-and it hasn't been good. -
I am not the one that brought someone else's screen name into it with no reason? I responded because you brought me into it, so it shouldn't take much for you to anticipate it. Get over your obsession with me, I am not interested.

In a shortened season does Toronto get a home game?
billsfreak replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is an interesting question, not sure if that is addressed in the agreement. My guess would be yes, as from what I have read, Ralph and the Bills have already received payment for those games. I hope it is too, I think it sucks not only from a fans point of view, but for the team too. It takes away the homefield advantage in a big way, as the first game there againt Miami, it looked like the crowd was 80% Dolphin fans. -
Yes I have peeball, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I don't wanna rehash the posts from last week about whether Ralph being a good person and being a good owner are one in the same. Get over it.

Can Evans be trade bait?
billsfreak replied to maryland-bills-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are smoking crack. So you would take a 4th round pick for Evans (that is normally where pick #100 is)? How many players have the Bills drafted in the 4th round ever, that have been as good as Evans? Why trade a known commodity for at best a pick that has a 10% chance of being as good as Evans? I guess you enjoy all this losing the franchise has done for the past decade and a half. -
Doubting Credibility but: NFL Lockout Almost Over
billsfreak replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just hope these Not so Secret "Top Secret" meetings are actually accomplishing something. It is getting close, maybe 3-4 weeks away from actually affecting the NFL season in one way or another, not to mention cancelling camp at St. John Fisher which is the highlight of my summer, driving up from Virginia. -
To those who call Ralph Wilson cheap...
billsfreak replied to Buffalo_soul-dier's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big difference between Bad Owner and Bad Person but after saying it over and over I guess you can't comprehend that. Sorry if I am typing words or phrases that you cannot understand. There have been countless businessmen who were great people, but were terrible at running their businesses and that is the category that Ralph now fits into. It is real simple? Also, there is a big difference between negative and being a realist, which is what I am. Anyone that I know, or watch Bills games with will say I am not negative enough, but that is for the team itself, not the guy who ran the organization into the ground. -

To those who call Ralph Wilson cheap...

That is exactly correct. I commend these wealthy people who donate to charities, but alot of times (not all), they only do it to offset the millions or billions they make on their business and don't want to reinvest back into their business. People like Ralph are advise to donate money to a couple charities each year, otherwise it kills them at tax time. He might not even have ever heard of some of the places he donates to, and he might have, but often times those places are picked by their "people." Also, I don't remember anyone ever saying that Ralph is a bad person, I sure haven't. Myself and dozens of other Bills diehards have said, and will continue to say that he is a bad owner, which is a total different ballgame. This board is about the Buffalo Bills, not normally about judging a person's character or community involvement/tax write-offs. -
[closed]If We Can Get Pryor DO IT!!! NO QUESTION!
billsfreak replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am very against calling people names, but if you are serious and it isn't sarcasm, you are an idiot. It has been said several times that Pryor can be discribed by two words-"Arrogant and Selfish." Doesn't sound like someone you want on a young team that is trying to make a name for itself the good old fashion way of hard work and teamwork. On this board, everytime a name is out there someone wants the Bills to go get them. I hear in a few years that Rae Carruth will be out of prison should we go get him too? -
OK Genius. What stadium was one of the first in the league to be named after a sponsor? Here is a hint-His name isn't Ralph "Rich" Wilson as far as I know.

Ralph's not the only cheap owner...
billsfreak replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph has thrown some money at some players, in large part because there was a salary minimum that he has to spend. The biggest problem his cheapness creates, is when he goes Dollar Store cheap for coaches and front office personnel. Not to mention selling out 12% of his regular season games to another country, and puts those extra millions in his pockets. All the while holding the threat of moving the Bills out of Buffalo over the most loyal of fans heads as an excuse for having the worst run franchise in the NFL-hands down. -
The Buffalo Bills do and have for the better part of the past two decades.

Ralph's not the only cheap owner...
billsfreak replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am quite sure that Robert Kraft in New England runs a profitable business, but puts a winner on the field. Same with the Rooneys in Pittsburgh, the Mara's in NY and several other teams do. You can still run a profitable business and give at least a little attention and a small share of your profits to put a winner on the field. Cheap is when you take all the profits and put them in your pockets and don't reinvest any of it to make your company better-like Ralph does. And who was talking about Cheez? Aren't those little crackers? -
That could be something to ponder, how about since it is Ralph Wilson Stadium now, they just have several people with big ears steal your money right out of your pocket. As far as selling the naming rights to the Field House, nobody can be surprised, Ralph would sell his own family for a few bucks.
-
Which still doesn't make alot of sense, especially after they brought in Wannstedt who has coached a 4-3 his whole career. It was a bad move last year changing to a 3-4 without any of the personnel to fit that scheme. And you are right alot of his tackles were 5-10 yards downfield, but normally wasn't his fault it was the fault of the worst defensive line and run defense in football. Just think how bad it would have been if Williams wasn't there, but then again he was about all an offense had to worry about keeping an eye on, and a handful of opponents said that.
-
I agree, he is a cancer and you don't want him in the locker room. He was a problem down here in Virginia at Green Run High School, and has been one every since, which is also the reason that Pittsburgh let him go. Don't forget that before he spent two years in the slammer, he was suspended by his own team for conduct detrimental to the team. As a player he had one good run that lasted a few months with the Giants when they got hot and one really great game in the NFC Championship that year. This guy has zero leadership abilities which you want from a veteran, and would only cause problems once things didn't go his way, which on this team wouldn't take very long to occur.
-
If the Bills let him get to the open market there will be at least half a dozen teams that disagree with you. I suppose you think he isn't starter material but some of the other unprovens on the roster are? The only player close to him in tackles last year was Whitner, and he is gone. Ayodele had 106 tackles to Poz's 151, and other than him Poz had almost twice as many tackles as anyone else left on the roster
-
You know what is sad, people on this board are saying don't sign Poz he gets hurt too much, but the same people are high fiving because giving Shawn Merriman millions was a great move?
-
I really don't remember that, unless the Bills fan you are talking about is yourself. Fletcher was a similar player to Poz, good locker room guy, team player and a tackling machine.
-
That is a given, after the crap Ralph has put on the field for the past almost two decades, you have to be loyal to even still be here!
-
I agree, and there are plenty of them around here. Comparing someone who has never taken an NFL snap to someone who won NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors with us is ridiculous and not very smart.
-
If they don't resign him it will show you how clueless Buddy Nix and Co. is. He will be one of the most sought after Free Agents on the market and the Bills better pony up, or like someone else said, they will never get better. He is a tackling machine, and unlike the majority of players nowadays, he is a total class act and team player, and positive in the locker room. It will be like the Bills though to let him go and rely on a rookie or undrafted free agent, or another teams castoff that nobody else wants.
-
Well thanks for the complement Whores Is Yous
-
I didn't say I didn't like him myself, I am just not going to anoint the guy the next Vince Lombardi until he does something. I have a feeling that he might be starting to turn it around too, my heart wants me to think that, but my head tell me to be pessimistic until he does something. To be honest, out of the two that hey hired this time last year, I have a much better feeling about Gailey as a head coach than I do about Nix as the GM. I think as far as his tenure in Dallas, he took over at the tail end of the run of a great team, they made the playoffs based on experience and aging talents, something they could have done with anyone just about, but he failed to keep the ship afloat whether it was his fault or not, we will never know.
