Bucky Brooks calls Merriman signing
billsfreak replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am honored! Seriously though, the T.O. signing was all for PR purposes to sell tickets, but for as big of an ass as T.O. is, you knew he had done something in the past 5 seasons and you could pretty much count on him to be on the field on sundays. You can't say that about Merriman. I am a Bills fan, so I hope he has the best year of his career in 2011, but I have a better chance of being an astronaut before the year is over. -
I know it wasn't your original statement, but going back five seasons, the signing of Joey Porter was a pretty good one by Miami. Three seasons, 32 sacks, including 17.5 in one season.

Bucky Brooks calls Merriman signing

I have been saying the same thing also, why give him the extension at all? You are right, since his injuries started and his suspension for using the juice, he hasn't even been a shadow of the player he was the first couple seasons in the NFL. Alot of people call the millions they gave him "low risk", but we all know how few players Ralph is willing to give that much money to, so why give it to someone who can never get on the field. How many millions did the Bills pay him last year, for what? 10 minutes of practice time? The only reason he is here is because Buddy claims to have had a hand in drafting him, well it is a good thing Buddy wasn't in San Diego when they drafted Ryan Leaf or he might be here too. -
Doubt it would ever happen, but I would be all in for sure. Actually, if the Broncos wanted McFumble, I would trade him for Brady Quinn. I think he has just as much upside in the NFL as Tebow does.

I am sure you wouldn't have done anything useful with that 10 minutes anyway so quit whining. And if it took you 10 minutes to read that short article, maybe you should hit a night school instead of criticizing others on this board. -

If the posts on this board frustrate you so much, why do you even visit it? It could be at least part of the reason why when you go to the main menu all you see is the title of the thread, and if you want to read it you click on it and it opens up, if you don't want to read it don't click on it-simple isn't it? And who wants to save time, alot of people are on this board because they are bored and/or have too much time now. Has there ever really been a thread in the history of this board that has actually changed something within the Bills organization, their front office, coaching staff or roster? My guess is NO. This thread is a bunch of Bills fans, talking about a variety of subjects involving the Bills (at least the majority of them do), and each individuals opinions or thoughts on that subject. It isn't earth shattering or globally important stuff (seems like some of it is to us fans though) in the big scheme of things, so if you don't want to read it, and if it frustrated me as much as it apparently does you, I would stay the heck away from it, there are enough important things in life that frustrate one that can't be avoided. Take things on this board with a grain of salt, it is just conversation about a football team and the organization by a bunch of fans who have a wide variety of opinions and views, but who don't actually have any input to the way things are run within that organization. -
7 Cheapest Owners in NFL History For a moment I just thought half of us Bills fans were imagining things.

Met Former 3rd Round Draft Pick Matt Stevens
billsfreak replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember him clearly. If I am not mistaken he played on the last couple Bills playoff teams. He just started to play pretty much full time for Buffalo then he was cut. A friend of mine who is real close friends with Jim Kelly and has been on the staff of his camp since it started, told me that Stevens failed a drug test and that pretty much got him tossed out of Buffalo. Now whether that is true or not, who knows, but they do keep the first failure private in the NFL. -
important question (sorry moderators)
billsfreak replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe he doesn't have a computer? Did you ever think of that? (sarcasm intended) Maybe someone stole his yellow pages? -
Very accurate point!

It is actually spelled "Roby." And not only would we have the only black punter in the league, we would have the only deceased punter in the league, since he died about six and a half years ago. That statement makes the original post seem almost intelligent.

They are missing Ryan Fitzpatrick and one of the Hobbits from The Lord of the Rings also.
-
I it obvious to everyone that he had a down year for him in 2010, but the main reason he hasn't made a Pro Bowl since 2006, is because the same punter has made the Pro Bowl every year since then and will retire as statiscally the greatest punter in NFL history most likey, in Shane Lechler (although I will still take Ray Guy for my money). Consider how great Lechler has been in 12 years in the league. He has the highest net punting average in NFL history, has been a 5 time Pro Bowler and 7 time All Pro and the only punter in history with at least one 50 yard punt in 33 straight games. Alot of athletes have down years, and I am sure Punters are no different, especially with a terrible line attempting to block in front of you. And yes, whether you get it or not, Moorman has been and still is one of the best players on this team even if he is a PUNTER! If it wasn't for Moorman, there is a good chance that this disaster of a franchise would have even won the 4-7 games it has yearly since he got here. Since 2005, Moorman is 3rd in the NFL in net punting average and has never had a punt returned for a TD in his career.

Some of them really look alike, others I don't even see the resemblance. There are some funny things though, like listing Mark Cuban under the athlete side of the comparison, not once but twice? In these things it is rare that the female athlete is a dozen times hotter than the celeb, but with Anna Kournikova and Jennie Finch that is the case. Did they strip a guys manhood comparing a NHL player to a Jonas Brother? Ouch!

Trust me, I had to take a deep breath in order to be nice before I typed it. -
Except when everyone pretty much already knows what they are going to look like, takes alot of the "excitement" out of it.
-
Moorman didn't have a career year last season, but he is still a top 15 punter at very worst. Who would you replace him with? Brian Moorman, though not a top 2 or 3 punter anymore, he is far from the most important problem on this team or even close to that. As much as he has had to punt with the pathetic offenses we have had since he has been here, it is a wonder his leg hasn't fallen off yet.

Ralph didn't lose Polian, he chased him out of town. Real smart move on his part. -
No matter where you run a DTV line, you are going to need a reciever/box for the TV or it won't work.

It is a pretty dumb poll and question, no personal disrespect intended. Those numbers had nothing to do with luck at all, they had to do with the great players that wore those numbers-nothing was luck with those guys. And as far as number 12 is concerned it is officially retired, nobody can wear it again-ever. There was also an article just a couple days ago about uniform numbers on the Bills website and how 12, 34, 78, 44 and a couple others will never be worn again. They mentioned that when Leodis McFumble came to Buffalo he asked for his college number, 34-and was told "We had a guy named Thurman Thomas here, that isn't going to happen." The only number retired by this franchise is #12. The others will not be worn again, but they aren't retired.
