If Poz leaves, will you be upset??
billsfreak replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So Stevie gets a free pass on leading the league in percentage of drops, because he had one good season? Poz has been a leading tackler on this team for a couple years now. How may games has Poz single handedly lost? Stevie leads that one 1-0. Fitz's picks because it was his first year in that offense? Wasn't it Poz's first year in that defense too? Throwing a ball to a receiver is pretty much the same no matter which offense you are running-stupid mistakes are stupid mistakes no matter what the circumstance is. Why don't you just say you don't like Poz (even though he is probably the classiest, hardest working guy on the roster-not some idiot who thinks it has to be all about himself, getting fines and doing talk shows after one good game-only to turn around the next week and let down the whole team, organization, fanbase and Western New York), because the points you are bringing up to justify your opinion are making you sound silly. -
how the chargers FA effects the Bills

It will all depend in whether or not Buddy had a hand in drafting them, if he did, they will be here whether they can get on the field or not-then get an extension! -

I hope you are correct, since I already wear his regular jersey. -
Amen! I agree, having arguments about the Bills, the NFL, the CBA, Ralph, the players, the uniforms, etc. on this board is conversational and civil. Personal attacks are a whole different story, especially since for the most part, people on this board don't really even know each other (I am sure there are a few exceptions), so how can you attack someone personally?

The highlights of the franchise for the most part, but the topic was the last decade? Makes it much more of a challenge, kinda like finding a needle in a haystack.

Finding moments for that list would be much easier, no question.

Chesapeake, VA Bills Backers?
billsfreak replied to VA Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Alot of Bills fans in this area down here, I see bumper stickers and license plate frames all the time, not to mention the number of people that approach me when they see my Bills hat or shirts. I was a member of the Virginia Beach Bills Backers for quite some time, but for a variety of reasons I have separated myself from that club. -

Why would it be the wrong thing to post here? It is about the Bills correct? Anyway, I am in Chesapeake and may be interested. -

Exactly. Poz may be just a very good linebacker NFL wide, but on this team he is a superstar who will only get better if they ever put quality players around him. -

The Bills often do suck when they don't resign their productive free agents, that actually can get on the field and perform and are more than a shadow of what they once were. They might as well have given the money they gave to Merriman last year to charity, it would have been money much more well spent that what they got for it. -
Not sure what you are talking about, this is the first time that I can remember bringing up the minimum myself. I have read though that it is expected to be around 90-93% of the limit which is quite a bit more than it has been, which could really hurt teams like Buffalo who don't like to spend a bunch. Even more potentially hazardous to the Bills, is when they have spent money often it wasn't on players very deserving, and if they are forced to spend the money to meet the minimum, who knows how they would do that.

If the Bills had more players like Poz they might have a slight chance at the playoffs. They haven't made the playoffs in over a decade because they have an owner like Ralph, have had coaches Jauron, Mularkey, Greg Willams and the other Bozos that have been here, poor front offices and the fact that they have kept players like Hangartner, Cordaro Howard, McCargo, Wrotto, have had QB's like Edwards, Losman and Fitz, got rid of players like Winfield, Clements, Williams, Lynch, etc. and have sucked at the draft using high or fairly high picks on the likes of Spiller, Mike Williams, Maybin, etc. To actually say with a straight face that be Bills have sucked because they have kept players like Poz, means that the person who said that has either not seen a Bills game in a couple decades, has reality issues that need to be taken care of, or just lacks severely in common sense. I know you were referring to another post, so this isn't directed at you, I agree with you whole heartedly. -

Because they are either clueless when it comes to football or they are a bunch of idiots. -
In my opinion, if Ralph is going to put personal grudges aside before he leaves this planet then he needs to put Lou Saban up there before anyone else. Cookie did have some issues, he did on occasion put himself before the team, and he wasn't a Bill all that long, but it wouldn't bother me to eventually put him on the wall. After Saban, then Ralph could bury is ego and put Bill Polian's name up there-since there would have been no 4 straight Super Bowls without him putting that team together. There have been several Bills that were "great" for just a couple years like Cookie was, that most people (if not all) wouldn't even put their name in the discussion for having their name on the wall-Paup, Travis Henry, Antwain Smith, Shane Conlan, Steve Freeman, etc., the list could go on and on, of players that made an impact for much longer than Cookie did.

Good question, and a very true statement. The only difference is that you won't ever hear Poz run off with a bad case of diarreha of the mouth like Whitner. Poz isn't the greatest LB in the league, but he is in the top half, and that is more than you can say for just about anyone else on the roster, save Kyle Williams. He does his job and doesn't run his mouth, that is a rarity itself in today's NFL. Wonder if in the late 90's people on this board were trying to run Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, etc. out of town? Now I am not comparing Poz to them, but he does have one thing in common with them-he is one of the best players on the roster, even if the level of "best" is much lower than it was then back then. -

No, but letting the good players walk over money and replacing them with undrafted or lower round drafted rookies or washed up veterans that nobody else wants certainly won't result in any improvement. The idea should be to keep the good players and get rid of the crap, but the Bills do just the opposite normally. You are 1,000,000,000,000% correct. Alot of people on this board (not all), don't have a fricken clue when it comes to which players are the problem. Alot of people blame Evans, Poz, Kelsay, etc. then say in the same sentence that Fitz is one of the best QB's in the league. The problem with this franchise starts at the very top, and goes down through years of terrible front offices, coaching, drafts, etc. But them the few players that have produced from Buffalo drafts over the past decade get criticized because they aren't Dick Butkus or Jerry Rice, gut just good players. Steve Johnson has one good year, in large part because Evans was drawing double teams, and Evans sucks but Johnson is All-World? -

I don't see where Poz has all these demand's? He has said all along that he wants to return to Buffalo. One reporter asked him about the Giants and everyone is taking it as if he said he wants to go play there. If the Bills offer him a fair contract I am quite sure he will take it. -

When you couple the fact of a salary cap (If there still is one), a small market team with a not so free spending owner (trying to be nice) and a declined economy, you are exactly right that every dollar counts. He probably made more last year, being with the organization for about a half of a season, and getting a whole 10 minutes of practice time out of him than half the active roster made. Taking monetary risks and going after players that at a miniumum are a 50% risk of missing all or most of a season will prevent this team from ever being consistent winners. -

We had one of if not the worst run stopping Defensive Line in the NFL last year. Of course if you put a few people in front of him that can actually make a tackle or stop a run, he will be better. People always criticize Poz because the majority of his tackles are downfield, well maybe if there was any confidence in the line pulling their share of the weight, and maybe they will with Dareus here now, he might not have to be a full time downfield tackler. -

I really like Poz, but if someone like the Giants offer him 7-8 mil a year, then I won't be upset if the Bills don't want to over pay for him. But if he goes somewhere else for 4-5 mil because the Bills wouldn't match it, and they don't have a replacement, then I would be disappointed to say the least. Is Poz a future Hall of Famer, obviously not, but was he one of the top 2-4 players on our defense last year? Not even arguable, of course he was. -

You are joking right? If that is a fact then why did nobody want him in the NFL for the past decade, and even he was surprised when the Bills came calling-when they ran out of all other options. Now, I hope he turns this thing around as much as anyone, but you are sounding ridiculous with that statement. -

Judging by how many people on here complain about how much money Kelsay is getting paid, you are in the minority around here with that theory? -

It would never happen though, Belicheat gets rid of players like Merriman, he doesn't bring them in. That is the difference between winning and losing. -
How much of a chance has Quinn had in the NFL? One of his few starts came against the Bills and if I remember correctly, his team had the most points at the end of the game.
