The atmosphere on this board goes along with the success of the Bills for the most part. The team has been a pathetic mess for about 12 years now, so it doesn't really matter if it is August or September or December. If they start winning again someday, like in the early 90's (I am not holding my breath, I don't look good in purple), the majority of the negativity will cease to exist. Every year that they extend their league leading playoff-less streak, there is less and less optimism. Don't blame the people on this board, it is human nature, blame the owner and the fact that according to the Buffalo news is "embarassingly cheap."

Why, so him and Jasper can Sumo Wrestle on the sidelines?

Good point if they only talk about the Bills and the interesting stuff that goes around them over the past decade, the station would sound like a cemetary. They can't make people call in. I have never been in radio, but I would guess along the lines of "The only bad publicity is no publicity" would fall "Calls about movies are better than no calls at all." The only way you can change media is by ignoring it and not listening/watching it, otherwise the more you B word or complain, or write about it in other media outlets, it just makes them more likely to stand pat with their current format.

Just think in Oakland when Jason Campbell starts throwing bad passes because he sucks, they will be chanting "Trent, Trent, Trent!"

That is true, but there are alot of minds that can be changed if the Bills were willing to pay to change their mind.

Do we really need Lee Evans?

You've got issues. There are other forums you should probably be in that have nothing to do with football. -

How many teams since have offered T.O. more than a one year contract? Is Cincy a racist hick town too? They only signed him to a one year contract. Nobody is going to give him more than one year at his age coupled with the baggage that he brings with him. When is the last time Evans totally destroyed a locker room and pretty much an entire team? He never has, T.O. has done it to at least 3 organizations. When is the last time Evans was suspended? Never. When is the last time Evans threw his quarterback under the bus? Never. T.O. has done it to almost every QB he has played with. I am not a T.O. hater, but anybody knows this team wasn't going to win when he came it, it was all about ticket sales, and if you can't see that then you aren't the genius that you say I am. T.O. himself only came here because he was hoping to have a big year to get one last big contract when he left, how did that turn out? Not sure why some people hate certain players without justification like you do Evans, you obviously are the opposite of a genius when it comes to football. -

With the same defensive coverage, targets from the QB and inclusion in the game plan by the coaching staff, there isn't even one reciever better than Evans, and it isn't close. -

If you really think Bills fans had anything at all to do with any of those guys being shipped out of town you are crazy. There are fans in every NFL city who like some players and dislike others, but no NFL team has made a decision solely based on what the fans want. Travis Henry and his failed drug test(s) got him tossed out of town (along with running loans from the team for child support), McGahee's mouth got him run out of town, Lynch's inability to stay out of trouble couples with holding out of camp last year got him shipped out. And as far as T.O., I think anyone who has a brain knew it was only going to be a one year stint here to sell tickets. As far as your Polish comment (capital "P" please, and no I am not Polish), I am guessing you are referring to Poz? Well how much of what the fans wanted played a part there? If it did he would still be here. It is fine for everyone to have their own opinions but some of the reasoning people use make them look clueless. -

He led the league in percentage of drops, which doesn't matter how many balls were thrown your way, it is a percentage. So that sorry excuse for Stone Hands Johnson doesn't fly in this conversation. If Evans went to the Pats, he wouldn't be replacing Welker, they are two different types of receivers, do you ever watch football? LMAO! When every team puts their top corner on one receiver, that receiver is obviously the best on the team and the one that the opponent fears the most. -

Exactly. Put him on the Patriots and he has 3 or 4 Pro Bowls under his belt by now. Brady would love to throw to him and his speed. When you have weapons like Lee Evans it is the coaches responsibility to design an offense to get your playmakers the ball. They didn't that last year. Period. Evans is still clearly the best WR on this team, if he didn't take all the double teams, Stevie wouldn't have been open enough to lead the league in drops like he did. -

Do we really need Fred Jackson? Kyle Williams? Eric Wood? Of course you want to keep your best players. Silly question. -
Great might be a stretch, especially with a mediocre quarterback, but productive they could be.

I agree, if the Bills weren't a good bet to get a top 5 pick again in 2012, but were expected to be in the 20's or so, it would make sense. Our pick is going to be too high for him.

My bills sleepers for the year
billsfreak replied to Defend Greece's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as Dareus, the 3rd overall pick in the draft cannot be a sleeper anyway. Maybin could be a sleeper, he has been sleeping for a couple seasons now anyway. If I had to pick one sleeper, I would have to go with David Nelson. My gut is telling me we have seen the best season from Stevie Johnson, and before the season is half over, Nelson is going to see much more playing time. -
Yea, and he watched the game from his living room just like Poz did!

Before last season it came with the regular Sunday Ticket and having the games in HD was the "Super Fan" addition that cost more. Since so many people complained, they made HD part of the regular Sunday Ticket and included the online games as part of the "Super Fan" extra package of which they tried to automatically carry forward for the extra $ if you already had the HD/Super Fan package the year before.
-
He also had some of the practices with the other players during the lockout in which several of the players there gave high praise of him.
-
As is a broken forearm (Poz's longest IR stint), even more of a freak injury than a wrist since it isn't a joint.
-
"Coach, I am not taking my armpit out of your face until you either take those glasses off or push them back up to your face."
-
Not bent out of shape because of your "amazement" just "amazed" at your ability to exagerate.
-
I never said he was Andre Johnson (and who is?), or did I hype him up, all I was saying was he had a chance to do something this year on a below average team and this may be a recurring injury. Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed and read too much into my original post? Hype is what alot of people on here were doing when they drafted Jasper in the 7th round, but you need to go back to bed and get the rest of your sleep.

So you are one the many on here that see the rosy side of everything and are overfilled with optimism, which can be a good thing. One of the things that I disagree with is that Barnett has a better injury history. He has missed 19 games over the past 3 seasons, including 12 games missed last season, and twice in the past 3 seasons he ended the season on the injured reserve. He was one of the many for the Packers who weren't even active for the postseason and Superbowl. Now I am not saying I don't like the signing because it is a dozen times better than just going with backups like it appeared we were, but look at our two veteran linebackers, combined they played 4 out of a possible 36 games (including post season), so we may be relying a little too much on these two guys. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that they both stay healthy and show a little bit of themselves from a few years ago. Bottom line is, if Barnett can stay healthy and produce like he did a few years ago, he may be a slight upgrade over Poz, but he is older and banged up, so only time will tell.

Bills sign Lionel Dotson
billsfreak replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another camp body to fill the 90 man roster, with ties to the current coaching staff (as do most of their signings) who will be gone before camp is over.
