  1. There are always going to be delusional fans that think this pathetic franchise is going to be above .500, go the to playoffs, win the Super Bowl, etc. Every year that the playoff-less streak grows, and as every sad season goes by the optimism gets less and less. We always hope that this is the year it finally takes an upward trend, but I would rather be pessimistic and be surprised then continue to be disappointed year after year.
  2. He has been terrible, but as far as I know, Dickie J. (as you so strangely put it), wasn't ever the GM of this team.
  3. Wow? You must really dislike him. He is easily in the top 5 TE's in history, if not the top 2 or 3. He redefined the TE position, leading almost every team he was on in receiving, and winning three Superbowls along the way. He retired holding almost every receiving record for TE's, with most eclipsed by Tony Gonzalez now (I suppose he isn't a HOFer either, since he has no Rings?). You certainly are perplexed quite easily if him getting in perplexes you. To be honest, and I am not saying Jim Kelly doesn't deserve to be a HOFer, because he does and he is probably my favorite player ever, but Sharpe is more of a slam dunk as TE then Kelly was as QB. Most people (non-Bills fans) don't put Jimbo in the top 20 or 25 QBs ever, you won't find anyone who isn't mentally challenged that won't put Sharpe in the top 5 TE's ever.
  4. You are one billion percent correct. Remember the year that Peerless Price had with Eric Moulds on the other side drawing most of the attention? Then remember what happened when he got big money in Atlanta to be the #1 guy and found out it was a little tougher (OK a lot tougher), to the be the #1? Well, get rid of Evans and the same will be true about Stevie "Stonehands" Johnson, he will find out that he is an excellent #2 with someone with speed and gets respect from defenses on the other side of the offense, but won't cut it as a sole #1 with no protection on the other side.
  5. And Trent Edwards looked like Dan Marino this time last year in practice?
  6. Doesn't help that we have the male version of Betty White as a GM either.
  7. I love your optimism, but kinda think you may be a little over optimistic and might be setting yourself of for the annual Buffalo Bills fans disappointment. A couple items with regards to your post: -I really like Williams at NT, but who is the stud at DE? I know you can't be talking about Dareus as a "stud" yet, he hasn't even played in a preseason game yet, much less the real deal. -Who are the 2 great running backs? Fred Jackson is good, especially considering where he came from. You can't be calling Spiller, the biggest draft bust from the entire 2010 NFL draft a great back can you? Potential is one thing, calling someone great means they have already proven they are great and have accomplished something. -Not sure you can be a "great team" with a QB who is "average"-your words, and I agree with them. -We do need a TE for sure, but with Chan's offense even if we got one would he use him? -Not sure new unis can help make a team win at all, but they sure are a major improvement over the terrible unis they just switched from. -I don't think any team that was 4-12, drafted 3rd in the draft, and only added what we added in the off season can have just two weak spots. With ability coupled with injury history, our whole offensive line is a hole, with the possible exception of Levitre (I like Wood alot, but he has trouble staying healthy). We had the worst run defense in the NFL, just adding a rookie defensive lineman isn't going to take it from "worst" to "great." We are yet to see if the linebackers are better, we have two veterans who played a total of 4 out of a possible 36 games last year combined due to health reasons. It is especially risky to rely so much on Merriman. I had similar optimism for years, but for the past 5 or 6 years, I have been pessimistic big time, in that if they ever were to have a successful season, I would rather finally be surprised then disappointed each and every season. Go Bills!
  8. I'll jump on the Gailey bandwagon when he gives a sliver of hope that it is deserving. He has done nothing but lose, so until then I will watch the bandwagon go by and hope for better days.
  9. He has been hurt more than Easley has? Is there an unwritten rule here that the only players they can bring is are ones the Buddy Nix had a hand in drafting in San Diego? Someone said "former first round pick-why not?". Well, lets bring in Tim Couch then, he was a first round pick. Heck, J.P. Losman was a first round pick, bring him in. A bust is a bust no matter what round he was picked in.
  10. You are right in that all that matters is W-L's (maybe not for Ralph), so how did Fitz emerge as a leader? They were 4-12 (4-10 P.E.-Post Edwards), kinda contradictory statement from yourself. It takes alot more than being well liked, otherwise Mike Williams and Erik Flowers would be getting ready for Canton.
  11. Bother-Yes. Surprise-Hell No. They went after Fitz last year the second free agency started like he was Joe Montana. They always bring in other teams backups (Fitz, Hangartner), take players from other team's practice squads, players other teams cut and when they get here they are good enough to start, not gonna win alot of games that way.
  12. So when you do assinine stuff and get a penalty that costs your team that is OK depending on who you are? If you get such a big ego after one good game that you lose concentration and drop a game winning, perfectly placed touchdown pass, and lead the entire league in percentage of passes dropped, that is OK depending on who you are? Or is it just depending on who "YOU" like and who "YOU" don't like? That is pretty stupid on your part and self-centered on Stevie "Stone Hands" part. And, NO we didn't "ALL" didn't see anything on Twitter, you have to choose to see that stuff and alot of us don't choose to, especially if we are going to turn right around and B word about what we read. Besides, if you got rid of all the NFL players with big egos, there might be enough left to field two teams-with no bench players.
  13. No doubt, if you don't "follow" someone on Twitter, you won't even know what they are saying. So all of these people that B word about his Twitter must have "voluntarily" clicked to follow him or they wouldn't be getting his Tweets.
  14. I kinda agree, is he a future Hall of Famer, no, but he is a decent safety and one hell of a hitter. He is just as good or better than what we have now, but for some reason alot of people on this forum make it sound like he is terrible, which he is far from. If he gets a deal with someone else, good for him, if he were to come back here, which I don't think will happen, that is good too. It is kind a strange in that I think alot of hate on this board towards Whitner is because he opens his mouth and is vocal, but where is that hate towards Stevie Johnson for going even farther by writing crap on a shirt and getting fined (that is farther from being a team player and drawing attention towards one self than anything Whitner ever did)? When is the last time Whitner got fined for being and idiot? I don't think he has, he is an idiot within the rules at least.
  15. Shefter is pretty knowledgeable for a reporter, but nobody can be surprised that the Bills are ranked last in Super Bowl odds. There is a generation of Bills fans now that cannot even remember the Bills in a playoff game, so until this mess gets turned around they won't get any respect. This team has alot of young talent, alot of subpar starters and alot of projects, but until they learn how to win, they deserve to be on the bottom.
  16. I am not saying that Tim Tebow is the next Johnny Unitas, but you can't write anyone off after one year, a year that when he did play, he wasn't that bad. If a QB is going to be written off after the rookie year that Tebow had, then Peyton Manning who pretty much sucked his rookie year would have been cut immediately. Little early too be proudly waving your "I told you so" banner. There are alot of questions about Tebow, but looking at our QB situation here, I mean we essentially have a roster of three backups and one who probably shouldn't even be in the NFL, so it still would have been worth a 2nd round pick on him. Could he have done much worse at this stage then our draft class from 2010 did? Not really. I bet you aren't willing to write off Spiller yet after a terrible rookie season, so why Tebow?
  17. I would sooner assume that he has no takers, so he is trying to grease the skids to come back. Now he is going to start saying good things about the Bills, where were those positive comments the past six months? He is getting a little skiddish now that training camps are underway and he didn't have a dozen teams knocking down his door like he thought he would.
  18. Or at least when they are allowed to hit. They will probably have him wear a red QB practice jersey so he makes it to the first game.
  19. That was a very immature response he gave you, which was the only reason I commented on it previously.
  20. A couple years ago your statement would have been 100% accurate, but he has lost a step at least, without taking into consideration that your statement says "when healthy" which he hardly ever is anymore.
  21. I never missed a play of Bills games last season and I never heard it? I am guessing it is referring to the half of a beard he had? Or was it that he wore his wedding ring during a game, which the TV announcers talked about more than they actually did his play? It is a website with some interesting reading, but of course you can't take everything you read to heart-anywhere. What makes a reporter an expert anyway? Bleacher Report is kinda similar to some of the posts that people put on this forum as facts, that are just merely opinions.
  22. I have been saying that exact same thing for quite some time on here, but you will always have the individuals on there that if Nix signed Joey Harrington, they would be comparing him to Tom Brady. Just because you are critical of a terrible product, doesn't mean you aren't as big of a fan as them, just no where close to being as gullable as them.
  23. Spiller for Samuel, we come out ahead on that no matter how old Samuel is.
  24. No Bills fan should ever say another team is horrible with a straight face. We drafted before them last year? There is no guarantee that we wont next year either. For one, the Bengals don't need Lee Evans, especially as much as we do, they drafted a WR #4 in the draft and drafted a couple last year along with a good tight end. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Is there any reason that the Bengals won't suck? Maybe, they are one year removed from sweeping the toughest division in football. We are more than a decade from even being competitive in our division. By your theory, it would be possible that we trade a higher draft pick and Evans for a lower draft pick. Our FO isn't always the brightest, but even they aren't that stupid. If they draft #1 and we draft #2 or vice versa, which is possible, they wont pick a QB anyway, they like Dalton that they just drafted.
