  1. If Nelson pans out, that was luck. What did James Hardy do as a receiver drafted even higher? If you name one example you don't prove your point, anyone can name one player. Nelson also put up those numbers too because most of the receiver depth was injured last year, and I like Nelson but come on, be real.
  2. Nothing against him as a player, but I don't see Fitz as a vocal leader. I would think someone who is a veteran and shows some fire like Fred Jackson would make a good captain. I would say Merriman on defense if he could stay healthy, but that most likely won't happen so Williams wins by default. I have no problem with Moorman being the Special Teams captain, I believe he is the longest tenured Bill and for a punter is an excellent athlete, and seems like a good lockerroom leader.
  3. So are we going to get a player as good as Evans with a 4th pick from a team that will probably draft in the last 4-5 picks of the round (around the 125th pick or so)? Doubtful. Which receiver has more long term potential then Evans? What does he have, a handful of catches his whole career? How many Superbowls has "potential" ever won? My feelings exactly.
  4. I think they voted Lee Evans again? Which one of those will be the Special Teams captain since they normally have one of those? Used to be Wilson was the star of special teams, but he starts in the DB now?
  5. I hope to God he stays healthy, he could make a big difference, but Merriman only played about 15-20 plays the whole preseason. Limiting him like that may just be a clue that he isn't fully recovered yet, just the opposite of proving he is healthy. Nobody knows for sure how long he juiced, or even if he still does, but it isn't rare for people who come off of the stuff to have injuries after injuries. Fingers crossed, but we probably have a better chance of Kelsay being a Pro Bowler then Merriman playing a full 16 game schedule.
  6. Honestly, Cassel has a better chance of finishing the game then Merriman does. I sure hope he puts his myriad of injuries behind and plays a whole game, but I am holding my breath though.
  7. He was at top of the list of wide recievers the Bills have had for one.
  8. Think I read somewhere that there are no blue pants this year. I would really like to see blue pants with the road uniforms, IMO there is too much white. The home uniforms are nice, only problem I have is the way the stripe on the helmet widens in the back, otherwise it sweet.
  9. I wouldn't call you dumb, since I have closet full of Ex-Bills jersey's myself, just like this one will probably be next season. He is in no way the franchise quarterback, not even close, but the only jersey I have from a current Bill out of the 20 or son in my closet is Spiller (still not sure why I bought it, I guess the hype), and he not only changed numbers but the Bills changed jerseys. Guess I can always wear my throwback O.J. and Kelly jerseys and never be outdated. Who knows with this organization, Fitz might get cut after the second or third game?
  10. Now I am waiting for the people to come on this post and say he doesn't know what he is talking about. Trading Lee Evans was just the lastest in the completely idiotic moves this franchise continues to make, over and over.
  11. Wow, how can we lose? And we play the ugliest team this weekend-all signs are pointing in the right direction. The NFL has to be an ugly ass club, if they considered the owners and head coaches and the Bills are still the NFL's best looking. Just imagine if Marshawn Lynch was still here, it would have been a runaway. But for as little as this team wins anything, I'll take it!
  12. Dang, you are a serious risk taker!
  13. I stand corrected as far as McGahee and the Pro Bowl, but he still accomplished more as a Bill then Eric Wood has so far, and I can't stand McGahee and actually like Bad Santa. Lynch without questioned accomplished more than Wood, with a Pro Bowl and multiple 1,000 yard seasons here. If the Bills would have tried to resign Winfield he might has spent his whole career, but this organization won't pay to keep players who are elite at their positions.
  14. So similar to trading Lee Evans, cutting Langston Walker just days before the season a few years ago. Some teams are out to win, some are out to make money. Gotta be crappy atmospheres in those locker rooms. Personal feelings aside, I am not sure how Eric Wood has met or exceeded expectations, when he has been nothing yet but an average lineman when healthy, but Lynch and McGahee haven't, even though they both played in Pro Bowls for the Bills and had multiple 1,000 seasons? I don't even think that Winfield or Clements made the Pro Bowl at all themselves while with the Bills. Kinda like changing Left Tackles and Offensive Coordinator right before the season. There are a few classy organizations in the league, aren't there?
  15. Of course you wouldn't. To fans, playing the Pats is a bigger game than most, but to the players and coaching staff, each game has to be as big as any other. Besides, if Gailey is this offensive genius that many claim he is, he should be able to come up with something new each week. Go Bills!
  16. As much as we will be returning kickoffs, we need at least 4 players who can return them. We have a possibility for good depth at the WR position, but out of all of them combined there is one quality NFL season-total. If we are lucky someone will step up like Johnson did last year, but there is no guarantee. If we are lucky one of these young unproven players will step up, but thinking we are loaded at the WR position is pretty silly. IMO trading Evans was still ridiculous and nothing but a salary dump, but what is done is done. Real football is almost here!
  17. I am not so sure that Edwards is the guy, but Thigpen has been terrible. Edwards can't be any worse, but there has to be a better option out there for a backup quarterback. We are in serious trouble if Fitz goes down without a doubt.
  18. Gotta be somewhere for all those skiiers to watch it during the winter months.
  19. In some organizations that matters, in this one McGee makes many times more than Corner does so-Bye Bye Terrence. Actually a week or so when a thread starter guessing a surprise cut, I said Terrence McGee. He has been a good corner, not great, for a year or two a great return man, but I can't even remember the last time he was healthy all year.
  20. So was Lee Evans, and he was even healthier than McGee is.
  21. They both had 1,000 yard seasons here before they were traded. Actually, there production was better here then with Baltimore or Seattle.
  22. "If that cheap owner would let us spend to get players in their prime I might be able to put a functioning team out there!"
  23. That said, he was still a bust as least as far as ths Bills fan is concerned. Just busting your chops.
  24. I am not a Thigpen fan, but in all reality he has had just as much success as Fitz has, especially if you compare them to when the Bills signed them. You contradicted yourself though, your quote If there's sufficient value placed on a player that another team will give up draft picks for him, then he shouldn't be considered a BUST-the Bills gave up quite a bit for Rob Johnson who you say qualifies as a bust? He was actually successful on his original team-the one game he played for Jacksonville.
