Fitzpatricks last 16 games
billsfreak replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no question he is the best option on this roster at QB, in fact the way Thigpen played in the preseason he is the only option. I like Fitz, he will never be a QB that carries a team on his back to a winning season, but with a decent team around him, coupled with good game plans, there is no telling what he can accomplish. -
Dave Wannstedt Sighting On Sunday?
billsfreak replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he did they would have changed his name to Dave WantStache -
I actually DVR'd the game to watch it after the Bills game and you are exactly correct. Just his presence if going to create other receivers, namely Boldin to be open. Don't try to tell that to a bunch on clueless haters on this board though. To them Evans didn't have a bit of talent and had nothing to do with Johnson putting up decent numbers last year. Bottom line is, Evans will probably win a couple Super Bowls now before this team even sniffs the playoffs, and he will be a big factor in both cases with his presence and lack of presence. Another salary dump from Ralphy, and anyone who says it isn't is either in a coma or is so brainwashed that it isn't funny. It is going to take a little time for Flacco and Evans to get on the same page since they have only been teammates for a couple weeks. Flacco has never had a receiver so fast, so it will take some adjusting on his part too.

Fitzpatricks last 16 games
billsfreak replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Impressive stats for sure, but you left out the most important-Wins and Losses. Not saying he can win or lose all by himself by any means, but he did have at least a few games in crunch time when he threw terrible passes. He also had at least one that is fresh in everyone's memory, where he should have one more win than he does, but his receiver let him down. He has produced more than most thought he could, but the Bills were right at the top in turnovers, which can be a game changer over and over. -
What do you mean, I think he has nailed down a starting spot in the UFL (he really has).
-
Depends on who she is whether or not she will let you play?
-
I have been stocking up on his signed rookies down here in Virginia, figuring nobody down here knows who the heck he is so I was getting them dirt cheap thinking he was maybe going to do something this year. I guess the joke is on me?

Looks like James Hardy part two?

I know it is totally disgusting that a Super Bowl winning coach, who eats, sleeps and drinks football would make positive comments on one of the greatest quarterbacks who ever played and has 3 rings, numerous Super Bowl and regular season MVP's and put up over 500 yards and 4 touchdowns passes in that specific game. How dare him, I am never watching ESPN again! In fact I am throwing away my "Chuckie" DVD Collection too, I will show them.

I think if they want to keep Johnson, they need to extend him before this season ends. Franchise Tag-I don't see it. Johnson had one good season and has tons of potential, but to pay him in the top 2 or 3 receivers in the league? Did you see Larry Fitzgeralds contract? Do you really think Ralph would come close to that for Stevie, honestly, I wouldn't. He deserves a raise, no doubt, but the 15-17 million a year, no way.

This is now the 7th straight season that Terrence McGee has missed at least one game because of injury. Although when healthy he is still a adequate to good cornerback, him being healthy is becoming more rare as each season goes on, in other words, he is beginning to define the word "fragile". Is it time to cut ties with him and use Aaron Williams more and let him get experience? They got rid of a healthy receiver who was more in his prime than McGee is to let the young guys get experience. I have always like McGee, but is his spot on the roster (and the sidelines), taking up a spot for a young corner with some potential?

Fitz vs Edwards vs Flutie
billsfreak replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is the point? They are probably the 3 weakest arms in Bills history, but that doesn't mean they are the three worst QBs (Edwards maybe). All Flutie did was win, and it wasn't because he had a cannon for an arm, although look at the BC comeback game and his arm gets the job done. I would still take Flutie over the other two a million times in a row. There was a reason why he was called "The Magic Man". -
Bell is on the Saints, you can't sign him if he is already on another team. Without a doubt. White has some power, Spiller might be able to outrun a cheetah out on the edge, but he probably couldn't run through a wet paper towel up the middle without dancing and being thrown for a loss.

I agree, so why does Chan keeping putting him in on short yardage and sending him up the middle, only to lose yards the majority of the time?

Stevie J Taking a Lot of Heat From Chief Fans
billsfreak replied to K-9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is quite possible, it could have stretched one or more of the ligaments, which could have caused a lack of the support the ligament gives, because it isn't normal for a knee to just give out sideways like that. He did lay on the ground a bit after the Johnson block and had to leave the game before he came back in. -

I don't in anyway think Johnson had any intent on hurting anyone or was he even trying to get away with anything. Honestly though, it was a kinda low cheap shot, not Romanowski cheap but if it was Florence or Byrd on the other end this board would be up in arms having spastic seizures about it being a cheap hit. Stuff happens though, it is a physical game with the world's best athletes flying around like pinballs. -
I agree, every third post on here is Peter King said this, the Buffalo Media said this, Wah Wah Wah! Yesterday in the Shout Box "Rich Gannon is a douche, he said something bad about the Bills." I tried to tell them to ignore the announcers if it really gets their panties in a wad and enjoy the game. And who is one fan to say what a "Real Fan" is anyway? Is there a strict guideline you have to meet to be a "real fan?" And if so, who decides what those guidelines are? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, if you don't like it ignore it, that simple.

I think Chan just needs to realize the only way that Spiller can be productive is out in space where he can use his quickness and speed. I am getting so tired of seeing him put Spiller in on short yardage and watching him dancing around behind the line instead of shooting for a hole. Yesterday, Jackson wasn't going down until at least the 3rd defender made contact on him most of the game, but on 3rd and 3 he puts Spiller in again and he gets stuffed for a couple yard loss. Happens over and over.

It was a great way to start the season, but it was only ONE game. If the Buffalo media were the only ones who thought the Bills were/are going to be bad, it would give reason to attack them, but the whole country, including most Bills fans have the same opinion. I, like every other Bills fan hopes the play from yesterday continues, but in the back of my mind, I am still apprehensive. Remember a few years ago when the Bills were the last undefeated team left in the entire NFL at 4-0, remember how that season turned out? Did they look good, heck yes, did K.C. do anything to help themselves? Heck No. Remember about 7-8 years ago when the Bills blew out the eventual Super Bowl Champion Patriots on opening day? How did that season turn out? I hope they only get better, but don't quit your job to take one at the stadium dusting off the Bills' trophy case just yet. Go Bills! I thought they had about a 40-50% chance of winning the game, anyone who says they honestly thought the Bills going to blow the Chiefs out in one of the toughest stadiums to play in are lying right through their teeth.

Name the top 7 players on the roster
billsfreak replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That might be true, but is it because the roster is better or Moorman is slipping some? -
quote name='K-9' timestamp='1315618849' post='2241417'] I give Greg Bell all the credit in the world for being instrumental in helping us land Cornelius Bennett. GO BILLS!!! Biscuit was great, but no way in heck would a trade ever happen like that again. Nowadays you can get Pro Bowl players for a 3rd or 4th round pick and back in 1987 the Bills gave up 2 first round picks, a 2nd round pick and a Pro Bowl running back for Bennett-then had to pay half of Bell's salary the first year in order for the Rams to accept Bell (they wanted Ronnie Harmon). Bell was a malcontent and hardly no team in the league wanted anything to do with him, despite him making the Pro Bowl as a rookie. The Rams got 3 first round picks, 3 second round picks and some scrub for a running back who already had half a dozen seasons in the league. Check out the link for the below Los Angeles newspaper article where Bell has some not so kind words for our owner. Halloween Trade

Your Bills vs. Chiefs score predictions here
billsfreak replied to GOBILLS78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I want them to win, I say KC-28 Buff-10. I know our run defense should be improved, but it was the worst in the NFL last year, so it has a long way to improve and it is against one of the best rushing attacks in the league. -
Ravens vs. Packers. Superbowl MVP-Lee Evans!

I frickin love the Bills
billsfreak replied to raleighbillsfan78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that is just a woman's way of thinking that doesn't have personal ties to the team. I have heard things like that several times from my wife about both the Bills and the Mets. Things were different 15 years ago for both teams, but now she just says "I liked it better when Jim Kelly was there and they scored all the time", now she just laughs at me pulling my hair out and cursing during the games. I like Fitz alot, but he isn't close to that level, in fact he is probably two or three levels below them. If there were 5 levels of QBs in the NFL, Fitz would be a high level four or a low level three at best. -
Jerry Sullivan says: This Roster is a crumbling
billsfreak replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No Einstein, when a 2nd or 3rd round pick does absolutely nothing it is a bad pick, when you get an undrafted free agent that 32 teams passed over for 7 rounds and he turns out to be something good that is luck. Pretty easy?
