Brady is classless; Jerk; etc. etc
billsfreak replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are kidding right? I don't look at these comments as Pro Brady comments, just common sense. Are the Pats coached well? Of course they are, but how many TD passes or audibles has Belicheat made himself? He has made average NFL players (Welker, Aiken, Branch), rookie tight ends, even lineman going out as a receiver look like All Pros. He is like a precise surgeon in the game, and makes it look so easy most of the time. Do I hope that the Bills bury his face in the turf at the Ralph, of course, but am I going to sound like a retard and say he would suck if he played anywhere else-not a chance, I have more common sense then that. -

I totally agree. I have the Pats and Brady, but like you I am a football fan, not some dilusional Bills' fan who hates everything about football except the Bills. I wish he would throw 43 picks and 3 TDs also, but the real outcome is going to be just about the opposite. There haven't been many QBs in the past 20 years, you can count them on a couple fingers, that have led an offense like he does. You wanna watch an offense operate to near perfection? Watch Brady play, and I say that with a clenched fist as I too hope they lose every single week. -

How in the Hell do you know what he was thinking? He is the leader of that team, and as the leader he may have been representing the team in showing concern for the other team's player. No matter how much any of us dislike Brady and the Pats, he is one of the greatest QBs in NFL history, his record speaks for itself, and the constant hate, looking for weeks to find small criticisms, and obsession is childlike. We could only have been so lucky to have drafted him, especially that low in the draft. You really need to get a life if something like Brady looking at an injured player gets your imagination running wild and hate spewing from your veins. I don't like him or his team either, but don't sound stupid for crying out loud. Two things can be clearly assessed from your post: 1. You are joking or 2. You are too clueless about football to even be allowed to watch it. I have read alot of stupid things on this board (even a few of my posts), but that has to be at the top of the stupid pile. -
Please don't blame that mess in D.C. on Fitz! One is the ultimate "over acheiver" the other the ultimate "under achiever".

I totally agree. He as done as much for this organization as anyone in it's history, yet people rag on him all the time on here. He was brought here as GM because Ralphy asked for a favor, and he didn't do as bad as people claim. If not for Marv Levy, you are correct, Fred Jackson is probably still playing Arena Football. Kinda like slamming your mother if she makes one meal that doesn't taste good. I don't think Levy had much say around the organization when he was here, he was a figure head to keep the fans interested during the continued losing ways of this franchise. Even if he did control anything, and he didn't, I am not sure he had a draft as bad as this regimes first draft in 2010. People make a big deal because all the 2007 class is gone, because this regime traded away the best players in it or let them go via free agency. The 2010 class consists of one player that has even shown glimpses, but not to the level of the #9 pick in the draft. Wang, Brown and Calloway are long gone. Easley has never seen the field. Troup has been borderline useless. Moats, Carrington and Batten has shown a little potential, mainly in preseason and practice, but haven't really accomplished anything yet, other then Moats being the answer to a trivia question. That is like blaming the Queen of England for problems over there, she has no real authority either.

Beginning to look like a player
billsfreak replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Spiller will ever be "great" in the sense of a feature back that gets 30 carries a game, but he has the potential to be an amazing player if used correctly. The biggest difference this past weekend from week one in KC, is that coaches used him correctly. They didn't send him up the gut on short yardage, but got him in open space to use his speed, quickness and elusiveness. He can be a dangerous weapon, but there are certain things he cannot do, pounding the ball and blocking in the backfield are his liabilities. Get the ball in his hands outside of the tackles and watch out, he is at his best in those situations. -
I agree with most of what you said in your post, but be ready to be molested and ridiculed by the majority of people on this board who aren't in a fantasy world on just sundays on ESPN.com. I love the way Fitz plays, his effort, heart and he normally makes the correct decisions, but you are somewhat correct in the fact that with a little better play by the Raiders' DBs, Fitz throws 3-5 interceptions, that were terrible passes. He does have to rely on excellent placing of the ball, because he doesn't have the strongest arm in the NFL by any stretch. The secondary was borderline pathetic sunday, confirming the thought of many that the they looked good last year, mainly because the run defense was so bad, teams didn't need to throw much. Merriman? I was against that signing when they made it, he has been invisible to this point. I really expect his field time to start decreasing now that Moats is supposedly healthy. Merriman lost his burst a few years ago and is getting manhandled by O-Lineman. I too would be all for playing Aaron Williams more, McFumble has been probably the biggest weakness on the defense so far this year. We don't have much speed at the WR position, we have alot of young players with tons of potential, but having that one burner to spread the defense a little sure would help. That said, I am pumpled with the start of this season, and at the same time a little apprehensive to let myself get too amped, as we have seen seasons start like this only to go down the drain eventually. Let's hope this season continues on a high and doesn't do a 90 degree turn downwards. Can they win this weekend? Not likely, but it is possible, but only if they play a complete game for 60 minutes. A first half like last weekend, and it is over against the Pats. Their defense isn't great at all, but the Raiders kept us in the game with stupid penalties in the second half, the Pats won't do that. Mostly though, you won't shut that offense out for the majority of the second half in order to catch up. Fingers crossed, beating the Pats would be like a mini Super Bowl, and reminisent of the euphoria of running on the field at Rich Stadium years ago when they finally ended the 20 game losing streak against the Dolphins.

I am not sure if he isn't a "smart" player, or if he is just not a great football player, but he has by no means lived up to the level of the position he was drafted. The only thing he has really been good at since he was drafted was returning kicks, and one disastrous game costing, boneheaded fumble killed that. He is becoming a target for offenses more and more, yesterday almost every time the Raiders had a big pass play, it was him not being where he was supposed to be or he just plain got burned. The Bills have to start thinking about benching him, maybe when McGee comes back healthy if he ever does.

Yes it was a great play, but he also cost the Bills a potential TD in the first half with penalty for a crack back block which killed a drive and changed the momentum of the whole first half.

Good thing they didn't listen to you when Edwards had the Bills at 4-0 a couple years ago. -

He had the little ghost of Ralph on his shoulder yelling in his ear "Don't Say It!." Not to take anything away from him, but Fitz was far from perfect on sunday. He had one pick, but with any less luck he might have had 5 or 6 that he threw poorly. I like the spark he gives the team though, he give 110% all game. Maybe the Bills should play the odds and hold off on further negotiations until after this sundays games. -
Honestly, I don't give a rats' ass what any media type say about the Bills, does it really affect anything? Too many people on this site get their panties all in a wad over what someone on ESPN, NFL Network, or the local reporters say like it is going to hurt the Bills' chances of winning? Just ignore them and enjoy the little mini ride while it lasts.

[ name='Simon' timestamp='1316378680' post='2251538'] They were not good today, but the Bills defensive staff has put a tremendous burden on them both of the first two weeks. They geared everything toward shutting down two powerful ground attack and left the defensive backfield undermanned with a lot of turf to cover. That will change next week. [/quote If that was a big burden going against the top two rushing teams in the NFL last year and two of the worst passing teams. and if you thought the DBs were heavily burdened so far, you haven't watched Brady either of the first two weeks. The Bills have the potential to beat the Pats next week, but they have to play an entire good game, not just a half on one side of the ball. The defense was pretty much invisible all day, and Fitz and the offense weren't much better the first half. Fitz only had one pick today, but with a little more bad luck he had 5 or 6. If the receivers drop as many passes as they did today, mainly Johnson, they don't have a chance. If they commit as many penalties as they did in the first half they don't have a chance. If they only play a half of a game or so next week, they have already lost. They can win, but they have to look more like they did last week than they did this week.

I am not a bit surprised by your comments. All he said was the weather in Buffalo sucks (and doesn't it?) and some people take that and run with it, and 25 seconds later he criticized every family, business and person who has ever lived in Buffalo. -

In 2002 he broke Jim Kellys single season yardage record for the Bills by over 500 yards and the completion record by over 70 completion (both records still stand). 24 TD against only 15 ints. And you can't say because the threw all the time, Travis Henry had the 5th highest rushing yard total in franchise history with over 1400 yards. Moulds had 100 catches, the only time a Bills players has gotten to that milestone, and Peerless Price had 94 catches, the second highest in franchise history (tied with Moulds). Larry Centers and Travis Henry had almost another 700 yards of receiving yards coming out of the backfield that year. But you are right, he was never any good here, it was all the defense? Just because the guy said something you didn't like, that doesn't erase the record books, if it did, O.J.'s name wouldn't be all over them. -
Tune In Radio is a cool app. You can search by area, by type (sports/rock/country) etc. At least the local stations down here, the app was only about 3-5 seconds behind the live radio. That is how I listen to 97 Rock sometimes while down here in Virginia.

He wasn't awful here, in fact the only time we have had a winning record in over a decade he was here. His first year here he put up numbers enough to end up playing in Hawaii in February. He wasn't great the whole tenure here, but compared to what we have had since Kelly retired, him and Flutie are legends. -

Really? I guess you are not familiar with sarcasm. Just a little friday morning humor waiting for the weekend. Duh! -
I have said since last year that Stevie Johnson is like a younger clone of Ocho. They are built very similar (fragile looking, but seem to take a hit), same arrogance and fun personality, have somewhat of a "Me First" attitude and like you said neither has elite speed but seem to get open and make big plays.

Fitzpatricks last 16 games

Not criticizing Fitz, just your point if you are talking about the game in K.C. The first drive was only like 20 yards long? Losman could have done that. He had a few drives in the game much more impressive than that one. There has to be a better example to prove your point, hopefully this time next week you will have a real good one.
