Fred Jackson is better then Adrian Peterson (2 games)
Pilsner replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On a side note, I'm hoping Omon gets his opportunities against the Saints since (hopefully) we will be running the ball down their throats and Freddy will need a rest here and there. I'm curious to see what Omon has to offer and see if we can really depend on him. Go Bills!!! -

Hopefully it's a 50/50 split and maybe the Bills will have both players in at the same time on some plays. Freddy is too good to keep on the bench long. If Marshawn really is a team player, he'll be fine with having half the carries. It's a team game, and i'm hoping he has the right attitude about it. I read in an article that Marshawn has been working out like a "madman" during his suspension. So we'll see what results he'll produce. Go Bills!!! btw Freddy should start in the 4th game. He's earned it. Marshawn lost that right with his poor decisions in the offseason. -

Whitlock believes Bills fans should BOO McKelvin
Pilsner replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you're being a bit too harsh on him. At first I was very upset with him, but after further reflection, i think he did the right thing...considering the time left before the two minute warning. He can very well be a solid long term addition to our defense. Considering the circumstances i do not blame him at all. Honestly what good will it do to our team as a whole if our fans boo him? He covered the ball, he fumbled... it happens... He was trying to be aggressive and trying to help us win the game and take it to the Pats. Would you rather him be passive? Yes maybe some of you might say he should have taken a knee. But I'm glad we have guys who would take it to them instead of being passive. Long term, we have the right mentality. Be aggressive, Hit, dont stop til the whistle. Please, i hope you don't have the same mentality as Whitlock. He has interesting articles, but in McKelvin's case he's clueless. The game is over. Lets move on. We now know we actually do have an Offense. Lets progress from here. Let the past be. -
LOL. prolly. Perhaps AVP can convince him to finally unleash the hounds. Or the Pill can duct tape DJ at halftime and he can have his way with the offense. We can only hope But seriously, I hope that DJ is finally changing his ways. A man of his experience must realize that "keeping it close" til the end of the game will only get you wins about 50% of the time. That will not cut it.

Silly Whitlock. After some thought, I think McKelvin did the right thing. Maybe he didn't realize at the time that he could have burned 6 seconds off the clock and use up the two minute warning when he ran out. But it was worth trying it in my opinion. Might as well try and deprive the Patsies of their free timeout. It didn't work out, but I think it was still worth the try. I think the Pats rolled a 20 on those two drives and McKelvin rolled a 1. ugh. -
Just read somewhere that the Buc's starting center got injured in their game and is either out for several weeks or out for the season. Sorry I don't have a link available. Their coach said that they will either try and use one of their backups or have to look for someone to sign. If they have to even entertain the idea of signing a center, then their backups can't be that solid at all. I think this bodes well for us stuffing the inside running game. Cadillac and Ward should be easier to contain

Surprised about your attitude South Georgia. Seems like you had a rough day. Please keep your posts a bit more civil will you. Thanks. Go Bills!!!

What a tough loss for us Bills fans tonight. After stewing in frustration for over an hour after the game, I'm finally feeling much more optimistic about our season. What an Incredible game AVP called. Look what he did with only 10 days to work with. Give him more time and I think he'll keep revamping our playbook and then he'll fine tune it. This is what I see happening and I'm very excited to see our offense crank it up each and every week. Every week our O-line will have added valuable experience and Trent will gain more confidence once he gets used to having heaps more time in the pocket. How refreshing, to not have a D-lineman in his grill 2.1 seconds into each play like last year. As our line improves he'll have that much more time to pick appart defenses, just like Brady does. AVP will find ways to get Evans and TO involved more. And if they're double covered again, it's ok, Trent will get more confident in the pocket and get the ball to them anyway (when appropriate). Freddy showed he can hang with the big guys. This is two straight big games for him against NE. If we can get Nelson more involved in the middle, then good luck to any defense if they still try to double cover Evans and TO. I'm coming away from this game extremely optimistic now. We have the talent to hang with the big boys. Young talent, and it will only improve. We finally have agile linemen! Did you see how quickly they got out to their blocks on the screen passes and how fast they were pulling? This will give us so many more options running the ball! Jauron better just let AVP loose and let him have at it! No more playing close to the vest. Our offense has the real potential to put up big points on teams on a consistent basis if our O-line keeps playing like tonight (except for the noob penalties by Bell. He'll only get better with experience). Sure we lost Poz and Kelsey for a while and it sucks. BUT this will give Maybin more valuable playing time and get Nick Harris out on the field more some way some how. I for one am one very Excited Bills Fan!! I can't wait to thrash the Bucs with our New Found Offense!! Go Bills!!!!

Enough Whining....Who Watched the Oline?
Pilsner replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reminded me of the screens we used to kill Miami with all those years when Thurman was playing. -
A new right tackle who is agile and can run. So we can start running the counter trey again lol I can only wish. Anyway, Denver has done fairly well in the past with quick agile o-linemen. Perhaps we're going that route. We definitely need linemen with agility, speed, and Stamina to stay with a faced paced high octane hurry up offense. (Well I hope that's the kind of offense we'll see on the field) Time will tell. Go Bills!!!!

Could AVP be the next Jason Garrett?
Pilsner replied to Pilsner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good points. -
I know I'm being very optimistic and AVP hasn't proven anything yet. Yes, I'm sure most of the veteran posters will think this is preposterous. But I just wanted to point out a few similarities here. Neither one had previous OC experience. Both AVP and Garrett were smart (not spectacular) backups to hall of fame qb's. I'm sure most of you already know Garrett played behind Aikman and is now the Cowbows OC. A big difference is that Garrett was hired as OC and had a lot more time to install his offense. AVP has a whopping whole week to tweek Turk's offense into something useful. Garrett had a good offense his first year. If given enough time then perhaps AVP can tweek and tweek some more each and every week and get our offense going. Oh screw this "perhaps" stuff, I'm starting to talk like DJ. Ok AVP better make this work
-
great post lol. Wow I hate how Jauron always says "hopefully". screw Hopefully. Why doesn't he say instead... Our Goal is to... We will be Emphasizing... the Direction we will take is... and so on... "hopefully" won't get u anywhere. We need results. We don't just need "hope". We need Direction. Direction with no excuses. Ugh.

Bills lead the league in completion %
Pilsner replied to Bleed Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think 3 of the Seahawks starting wide receivers were injured and couldn't play that game. If i remember correctly, they had their backup qb (forgot his name) play wide receiver because they were so depleted at the position. -
In college he was always running for his life. He didn't have a good o-line. Also he didn't have much of a supporting cast while he was there.

Why aren't our QBs taught to carry out fakes?
Pilsner replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By the time a qb makes it to the NFL level he should already know the importance of the fake hand-off. It's so easy to do they shouldn't even have to be coached to do it in the pros. All it takes is simple discipline. It's easy enough to coach in HS. The only possible reason i can think of that qb's don't do a decent job of it in the pros is if they are in a huge rush to get set up for the pass. Either that or they are just plain lazy. But honestly, anyone smart enough to play qb in the nfl should very well know the importance of a good fake. I've seen HS qb's do better fakes than a lot of pro qb's. what gives? I'm still stumped by this. Anyone have any insight on this? much appreciated.
