LOL! He's DEFINITELY turned the corner then, because that would be genius!
-
Because if his latest check-in truly comes from him then he may finally get his head on straight. And he still has all that talent.
-
I think BADOL took your "hasn't done anything for 3 years" comment as giving up on Gordon given yesterday's news. So he was chiding you for it. Gordon and Pryor are two ultra-talented guys who for very different reasons found (find) themselves on the verge of being out of the NFL.

Christian Pulisic (warning: soccer content)

Great toughness, vision, finesse including his bend on the ball. I most enjoy watching him maneuver in traffic and lay down superlative passes. Super excited about this kid as he grows up! -
Dennis Thurman Calling Defense on Game Days
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you about the importance. As someone who values continuity and stability in our front office, it is good to see Rex grow up just a little and realize it streamlines the play calling and his focus. Maybe now we will be more efficient with our clock usage and management since Rex isn't trying to figure out our next defensive play call. It may even help reduce our penalties if players have a few more seconds to get lined up and mentally review their responsibilities for the upcoming play. -
4th & Goal From The 1. TD Or FG?
GaryPinC replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. As someone else said, we're not that great in short yardage situations. It's also 0-0 early and no one knows how the scoring will go. Take the points and avoid handing momentum back to Arizona. I understand the rationale of going for it but that would be the wrong call for an 0-2 team trying to find itself on both sides of the ball. Right call, great win! -
The Factory of Sadness Continues: Josh McCown Out
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's even sadder is their scouts (maybe the same ones?) favored Derek Carr over Manziel in 2014. Supposedly Farmer and Pettine did too. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000329386/article/cleveland-browns-like-derek-carr-over-johnny-manziel There was also an inadvertant image of Ray Farmer that had a whiteboard in the far background thought to be their draft board. Carr was at the top. Rumor was Haslam wanted Manziel but then again it could have all been a smokescreen. Good thing they got rid of those scouts who might actually be able to find a franchise quarterback and went with the analytics guys! -
A bit long, but an interesting article on Trump the man and businessman: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump%E2%80%99s-ties-to-an-informant-and-fbi-agent-reveal-his-mode-of-operation/ar-BBweClQ?li=BBnb7Kz

The best description of tt:
GaryPinC replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barley is right. Cardale needs to sit and learn, he's nowhere near ready right now and putting him under full game pressure would probably ruin him. They can give EJ some opportunities to show something before we let him go in 2017. -
Pretty much how I saw it. Where the hell was the safety help? I thought Darby played a good game and mostly had good position, there's nothing he could do about a number of those perfectly placed passes. Hats off to Fitz, he threw some great passes tonight. Unbelievable the FO played chicken with him this offseason. R&R R have to adjust their defense. NYJ have a lot of talent on both sides, #2 AFCE team IMO, Bills are going to have a tough time for a playoff spot this year. I'm open minded about giving the Ryans every benefit of the doubt. But, lack of player discipline on and off the field, game management issues continue to abound. Is this really a playoff-calibre coach? 12 men on defense? How many contending teams have so many numerous little issues? They need to get their sh*t together and make some changes. I also think Rex was stupid not giving his starters enough time on the field in preseason.

Um, yea, that's just women for ya. And you don't get drunk to understand it, you get drunk because of it!

John Miller's progress, how has he looked?

Haven't watched any preseason games, but great analysis on Miller and EJ. Definitely visiting your site more often! -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Maybe it can seem limiting. But I would say that it is needed. When you overgeneralize a definition like racism, despite the reality of the situation people will react to the base definition which only serves to infame the situation. The shock value can at times be good to make the offending person think, but for me looking at all the "safe space" stuff, I think it's come time to expand our minds by defining and reexamining specific terms to make both sides think more deeply. To borrow your example, if black individuals are being included simply because of their race, then it may not be racism. It may be an equal opportunity situation, and that's not racism. If a white decision-maker excludes black individuals who are are being loud and disrespectful, there may be racism, it may be discrimination, or it may be that none of the other people were loud and disrespectful no matter what their race. The thing is, are the blacks who were excluded simply thinking "racism" and absolving their own behavior or are they willing to look at things more carefully, and take responsibility for their role in the problem? -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I truly believe you need to first revisit the definition of racism. Much like Kaep, I think you are overgeneralizing and condemning far more behaviors than you should. https://www.google.com/#q=racism rac·ism ˈrāˌsizəm/ noun the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. Just because a black guy walks into my elevator and I fleetingly observe the color of his skin doesn't make me racist. Fat, skinny, obnoxious, ugly, gorgeous, strange, psycho, appearance, etc. We all observations and judgements of some kind to the people we meet. Doesn't mean we treat or think of the person negatively. In my lifetime of experiences, African Americans I meet are more likely to make eye contact with me, exchange hellos and have a friendly conversation. Don't know why, just my experiences. Some might wrongly call it a prejudice but it's not, it's just a bias. Even if a first impresson evokes negative feelings or prejudice, many of us have lived on this earth long enough to realize talking to that person will dispel those negative feelings most of the time. Assumptions cause more trouble than they solve. This is what people truly need to learn. And you are making a lot of assumptions about people's underlying behavior and overgeneralizing the definition of racism. Much like Kaep overgeneralizes this great country. If we are to continue moving forward eliminating racism, overgeneralizing and national condemnation has a disengaging effect in addition to being unfocused. I am 46, this country has made enormous strides in my lifetime against racism and there is much more work to be done. But assumptions and generalizations only halt progress. -

GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
because he's claiming it does, and he's wrong. He's wrong about a lot of people in this country. He really needs to find a better way to protest oppression than condemning our entire nation. -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is the real rub. It's one thing if Kap wants to protest oppression, it's another that he condemns our entire nation as oppressors. FU Kap, you don't know me and how I treat people otherwise you'd realize how stupid and inappropriate your viewpoint is. -
Pure Genius: Patriots Acquire Mingo from Cleveland
GaryPinC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's always weird for me too but I realize everyone focuses on different things. Certain people just like to stare at stats with players like Sammy Watkins, never even acknowledging that he is singularly driven to succeed, obsessed with the game but also blessed with exceptional talent, that is the real reason we gave up draft picks to get him. Heart and soul of a team, like Jerry Hughes. People can look at LeShawn McCoy's stats and say he wasn't worth the money but go to the game and he's still a dynamic force as a running back, even if it doesn't always show in the stats. People like to see the statistical evidence all line up before they take a stand on the quality of the team. One of my favorite teams was the '87 bills. I was finishing up high school in central Ohio but was filled with certainty that finally, FINALLY, the Bills would be a force to be reckoned with soon. After so many lousy years, talent just oozed from the field. Go check the stats on that year, nothing stood out in the statistics, losing record, but no one wanted to play them. Bunch of bad-ass talent on the cusp that just needed seasoning and a couple more pieces of the puzzle. That's exactly what happened but some fans waited a year or two more before admitting it. This Bills team is definitely on the cusp after last year, injuries will determine where we go this year but our success will be undeniable next year unless there's a FO shakeup. -

I would like to think Brown was taking a subtle dig at "safe space" students with a preschool. I would put pacifiers out too. -
Josh Gordon - Would you trade for him?
GaryPinC replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By all accounts Gordon's looked good in practice but there's a reason why he's friends with Manziel: neither one of them get it. I agree about the talent but don't think he's grown enough as a person to count on him. Keep in mind he applied for reinstatement, there was a 60 day wait and he couldn't even keep clean for that long. 60 days. -
Cardale body language/ pocket presence very Jim Kelly??
GaryPinC replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked the way Cardale looked off Boykins on the TD pass until the last second. I didn't like how he missed the receiver on the left side who broke open on an inside slant on the 2 point conversion. But Cardale's a really exciting prospect. Definitely a project, has to step into his throws far more but OTOH it is good to know he can be effective off that back foot when he has to. -
It's not a huge loss, it was a huge loss after the first 2 games last year when the film on him showed the rest of the league what a slug he decided to be. Other teams didn't double team him when I was watching, they had no problem assigning him 1 OL. I don't get how people cry about his loss when he checked out long before that and was a real liability on the field for us most of last season. It's a positive he's gone. F him and his arrogant attitude.

Geno reflects on "The Punch" one year later
GaryPinC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sadly, in the article Geno sounds only focused on how he got his opportunity to QB taken away and life isn't fair so I must keep fighting for it. Commendable, but maybe he should have honored his commitment to IK and be accountable that he wasn't a man of his word? -
RG III Named Browns' Starting QB

If he comes back anywhere close to the way he was he'll be suspended before week 8 for smoking pot. I hope he's changed.
