  1. “Their whole mission for 55 years has been to provide low-cost prescriptions and services to low-income families,” said NACHC vice president of media relations Amy Simmons Farber, who also said community health centers opposed the Trump administration plan. “The executive order was a slap in the face because we were already a low-cost alternative to high prescription drug prices. The executive order just created massive red tape. It’s not a good rule.” https://www.wtsp.com/article/news/verify/verify-biden-administration-insulin-costs/531-57ea96f8-bcbf-412e-8d25-6aaaa37319b4 I personally believe Trump was trying to do the right thing on this. executive orders: I'm not a big fan of them but it's traditionally used. Teddy Roosevelt used over 1000, FDR over 3700 his 12 years! https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/statistics/data/executive-orders
  2. Actually, I don't think this is correct. Edit: Young children seem less likely to catch it but this does not apply to older kids. Kids are much less likely to experience symptoms, especially severe, but can still contract and spread the virus is my understanding. Subtle but big difference, especially as many kids know Covid won't have any serious direct effect on them. Also, CDC is saying schools can be open with precautions: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/education/2021/01/27/covid-schools-cdc-reports-how-classes-can-safe-prevent-spread/4278356001/ I know my local schools have done a good job with it and looking at their data there have been no significant outbreaks when the schools are open. I most certainly agree that the vaccine is the only way out.
  3. It was really surprising to me to see how leaned out and muscular Epenesa was compared to his Iowa years. I think his body fat % went way down and bulking muscle up during the season has to be a pretty tall order. Looking forward to see where his weight is at next year, and it will probably be all muscle. He played violently at Iowa, he may take a nice jump for us next year.
  4. When it comes to politics the Post is NOT a legit news source anymore. They were/are no better than tabloid trash for anything Trump. Same with the NY Tmes and CNN. Just completely unprofessional, I lost all respect for them. It's a big part of the reason so many on the right turned so hard to the alt right news sources. Who stretch their own truths. And all this is a big reason the country is so divided.
  5. More than sad. It's feeding towards dictatorship.
  6. The answer as to why it made sense for the Dems to do it is contained there. They could easily have taken the more painful route if they chose.
  7. The biggest thing for me with Biden is to keep his word on bipartisanship and unlock Congress. He's off to a good start. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mcconnell-relents-on-senate-rules-signals-power-sharing-deal-with-democrats/ar-BB1d5y4q?scrlybrkr=3d4498da&ocid=uxbndlbing Did the Dems need to do this? Nope and small minded people would point to the past as an excuse not to. But, confirming there's an adult leading the white house making the kids on either side play nice. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/white-house-signals-it-could-agree-to-more-narrowly-targeted-stimulus-checks/ar-BB1d6V4g?li=BBnb7Kz Yep, Trump wanted the full 2k also. Definitely target the people who truly need it the most and cut the price tag. Win-win. Clearly a huge benefit of Biden's age is he remembers the value of negotiations. Encouraging, let's hope he sticks with it.
  8. I'd like to see them trade Edmunds as I think his value is maxxed thanks to the pro-bowl nods. He's been more physical in the playoffs but has no instincts for the game, as others have said. Constantly being fooled and hoping his athleticism can make it up. While I felt he was more physical in the playoffs, he's still below par with it. If he's staying, I think you move him to an outside spot and simplify the game for him and see if it helps. Also, maybe his shoulder still isn't 100%? Oliver, I'd like to see him with a space-eater in the middle. He's shown he can make some strong plays. Epenesa is reworking his body, way too early to pass final judgement. He's really reshaped so credit his dedication.
  9. good post, OP. A couple of observations/gripes: 3rd down RPOs to the right where Josh elected for the short throw instead of the handoff to Yeldon: the Yeldon run was there both times I noticed, especially the second one as the RG and RT sealed beautifully and it would have been a long gainer. Probably on Josh but also Daboll for not using that more. KC D was very grabby to slow receivers down in their patterns. Refs allowed it. They also jammed receivers intermittently at the LOSR. We did almost nothing. Why the hell can't you have our DE's clock Kelce every time he's over them? Why not intermittently jam their receivers? Throw off their play timing. I noticed the one time where Kelce got jammed and Mahomes struggled on the play Why did our DBs not get grabby with KC since refs were allowing it? How do we watch so much film but not scheme to stop that shovel pass near the goal line? Romo did a great job of highlighting how KC likes to run a lot of noise in terms of personnel but very much get the ball to the same places on the field in given situations. Just can't understand how this wasn't coached for at the Pro level. Our offense got mostly shut down all playoffs. AFC championship, even the entire playoffs, you need next level coaching to pull out all stops and try unique things against your opponent. Especially on defense. Josh needs to grow some more. We need more talent on D, especially our front line. Our coaches need to grow up also, but Frasier may be incapable. I feel like he likes to sit in a base defense just too much with little adjustment to the opponent.
  10. I can't speak for Trump supporters, and as I wrote, it seems like you and I are mostly on the same page. What Biden did is wrong, understandable to an extent given the circumstances, but even he knew it and made amends for it. Your point about Trump plays into my greater point, instead of making excuses for Biden or denying the reality of the situation why not acknowledge his wrong and instead focus on what he did right? How much stronger is your argument by acknowledging the reality and then turn it around and ask Trumpies if Trump would have been strong enough to apologize in the same circumstances? No reasonable person can say yes. And on some level we are all reasonable. Both the left and the right share equal efforts to deny reality and pick at isolated details to try and rewrite reality and mostly miss what's really important. Kind of like Trumpies won't acknowledge that his role in January 6th was just plain wrong and he is at fault for helping incite it. For America to heal, we need to do better than this. That is all.
  11. I'm not ignoring it at all. All the facts point to the truck driver was most likely not drunk. It's the gossip that clinches it for Snopes to absolve Biden. It's a fact that Biden also called the family years later to apologize. I see no mention of it, but undoubtedly Biden found out the results of the accident investigation. The facts show the driver made a strong effort to stop. Stating that the driver was drunk is lying. There's utterly no proof that is a true statement and all the available facts tell a different story. A neutral, reasonably intelligent person of good conscience would not say it. I think Biden is overall a decent guy and the emotional tragedy biased him. I'm not here to crucify Biden as I understand where he was coming from, and to his absolute credit, he apologized and stopped saying it. That's what means the most to me. In this right vs left mental diarrhea, the saddest thing is watching one side point fingers at the other while never pointing inwards first.
  12. I'm an independent, happy to see Trump gone, Biden voter and everything I wrote is further down in the Snopes article if you actually bother to read, Mr. Ignorant.
  13. Seriously. Did you read it? It's the perfect example of how Snopes is biased. If it had been Donald Trump's behavior, Snopes would have absolutely rated the accusation that he lied about the drunk driver as true. But here Snopes decides that since local gossip at the time feels it was probably caused by drinking, Biden gets a break because he probably believed the gossip. Good one Snopes! Even though there was no evidence that the driver was drunk nor any of the emergency responders felt the driver was drunk. (This was 1972 so no testing). Even though there was 150 feet of tire rubber from the truck leading up to the 2-way stop intersection. 50 yards of hard braking. Even though Neilia Biden had her baby daughter in her lap while also trying to drive. Even though Joe Biden later stopped saying it and called the driver's family to apologize for any hurt he caused their family. Snopes is a crock over anything political. It is absolutely true Biden was lying, I think to ease his terrible loss, but still. The most likely reality of the tragic accident is that the truck was going too fast (intersection was nestled between 2 sizeable hills) and Neilia was distracted, didn't see the oncoming truck and pulled out in front of it.
  14. Unbelievable anyone can complain about charitable giving. What's it about? It's about an emotional connection to a situation on the football field. Dalton/Boyd's heroics, Allen soldiering on, and great guy and fierce competitor Jackson's untimely early exit. It's about a football fan base with good hearts enjoying a meaningful expression of that. It's about perfectly countering those who see only the rowdy side of us with condemnation. So happy for the win, but the game became unfulfilling the minute Jackson left and I would have much preferred we finished it with him in there. Even if it meant losing. Norman's hasn't taken off because he isn't out there enough for that connection. But we should donate because it is most worthy, and local, and I gave to his as well as Jackson's. Despite living in Cleveland. Not feeling it for Lamar? No problem, but some of us are. Give in your own way and time, stop complaining about how other Mafia members choose to give, and realize how badly you're embarrassing yourselves.
  15. IMO Daboll never gets enough credit for seamlessly transitioning the offense to match the quarterback. Hurts/RPO in the first half, Tua/NFL style the second half. Pretty amazing to me.
  16. Yeah, two years ago I thought Ravens would tailor to Jackson's strengths while evolving his passing game and ability to make reads but it's gone nowhere. That's a fail on the coaching staff to be content not to develop him. Quite the contrast to the Bills and Allen. I do believe Jackson's fully capable, he's a smart kid on a top-notch coached team. Hope they figure it out for future epic QB battles!
  17. I have to disagree, it's somewhere in the middle. Daboll challenged the kid, but also tailored game plans to what he was comfortable with. That's in a couple different articles. Fans here griped about Daboll's playcalling the last 2 years but I believe part of that was because of Josh Allen's development (also lack of talent at the receiving end). The mental part isn't just interpreting what's on the field, it's also the speed at which you do it. IMO it's a lot easier to build that speed if you start with less complexity on offense and build on to it. Last year, including the game I watched in Cleveland, seemed aimed at emphasizing the middle and short routes, getting Allen less focused on the long downfield plays he has an affinity for. Trying to change his habits. I believe his long balls were off so much because they de-emphasized them in practice so much. JMO, but in looking at the change in his style of play from year 1 to 2, it was obvious to me.
  18. In all honesty I can see Gailey resigning because of how unfair things were to Fitz and the team. I have a feeling the FO dictated to Flores to get Tua in, but it was handled badly, unfortunately. It's a tough situation. You need to get a look at Tua but you're cutting the team's wrists to do it. At this point I think Flores should have stood up and refused to play Tua unless he had proved in practice able to execute the offense and lead the team.
  19. The thing about him is he doesn't see the field well and I hope Frazier makes it a point to roll our coverage to whatever side he's scrambling. But we did a good job against the Ravens last year so I'm hoping they can scheme them up again.
  20. Yep, agree that looks bad on paper and they have been soft down the middle this year. CLE's D-line will be key. But, they're finally getting healthy on both sides of the ball and the moment wasn't too big for them in Pittsburgh when nearly everyone thought it would be.
  21. Maybe. But don't count Cleveland out. That O-line is fantastic with Wyatt Teller in there, he's finally healthy and if Bitonio, Conklin can make it back they can control the ball. Browns are weak at LB and secondary but Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson should make it back from Covid also. In one game, they came together and won a tough football game handily, not allowing an experienced team like the Steelers back into it. Baker was cool and focused the entire game, Hunt will be uber motivated, Landry's always tough. Maybe their youth catches up this week but I think it'll at least be a tight match. That's a talented Cleveland squad who have had a tough time with Covid and injuries but are finally getting healthy.
  22. Except NFL rules are very clear in that the ball must be snapped within the 40 seconds or 25 second period. What that means is the instant it hits zero you are outside that time period. By rule, there is no 0.00 Anyone who's watched the game longer than 5 years knows the refs have always been very diligent making that call, only recently have they been allowed to be lazy about it. My question is why? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/image/rulebook/pdfs/7_Rule4_Game_Timing.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwi_2YPGsZHuAhXlxlkKHdNPAqIQFjABegQIAhAF&usg=AOvVaw3gpctfWVvZYqZ1z9_HSoxs Section 6 Delay of Game 40-SECOND PLAY CLOCK Article 1It is a delay of the game if the ball is not put into play by a snap within 40 seconds after the start of the play clock. The play clock operator shall time the interval between plays upon signals from game officials. The 40-second interval starts when a play ends, unless Article 2 below applies. 25-SECOND PLAY CLOCK Article 2 In the event of certain administrative stoppages or other delays, a team will have 25 seconds, beginning with the Referee’s whistle, to put the ball in play by a snap or a kick.
  23. I agree with most that coaching was the problem today. On defense I didn't notice much stunting and Rivers had far too much time. Probably dialed it back to maintain gap integrity against the run but it really hurt us. Certainly in the second half they could have gotten more creative with their rush when we opened up our lead. On offense we were very vanilla and non aggressive in terms of setting up future plays. I do believe Daboll overthought things. Lack of screens, play-action etc. Try and do what we do best first. Then go from there. We got over the hump and got the win. Reminds me of the first Patriots game. Let's hope they loosen up and get back to normal.
