Did Mike Leach really find it necessary

I hated my S&C coach. He was the biggest SOB in the world. When he got to our program, he ripped all of our record plaques off the wall and worked us until we litterally passed out. He called evreyone out in a very public way (like posting body fat %). We hated him. 6 months later all of those records that had been posted for years would have been broken anyway because he taught us what hard work was. Look at milatary tactics, break you down to build you up. The only saying that he left on the wall was, "Champions are made when no one is looking." Kids will get away with whatever they CAN get away with. The lessons he taught me at 20 years old were invaluable despite being very harsh. I still hate Buddy to this day but he made me a better person. -
Did you see Rivers getting killed in the Steelers game this year but still making great throw after great throw. Brady has been banged up all year because of the Pats protection problems. Warner's LT is Mike Freekin Gandy! A good QB gets the ball off quickly. A good/great QB can make an Oline look great too. The Steelers played the Cards last year in the SB. Both lines were not good, but their QB's were.

He didn't think he was faking an injury first of all. He was sick of the kid acting like a prima donna and when he saw him wearing sunglasses while he was sitting out of practice, Leach lost his mind. If you've been coaching for 23 years and have never had a moment like that then i'm guessing that you are coaching children. And I promise you that i'm not saying that to offend you. Is making a player run stadium steps in every section of the stadium because you were 5 minutes late for conditioning bad? Is punishing the whole team for one or two players activities on a thursday night at a frat party wrong? Have you ever been through a winter conditioning program? Is setting the weight room air conditioning to 85 during the summer because "there is no air conditioning on the feild" okay? I'm sure there are a few on here that have stories far worse. What Leach did was hardly wrong. However, when he got on national TV and bashed AJ, that was ridiculous. -
DellaJohn, Sometimes you just have to admit that you're wrong and this is one of those times. JC

AFC: Manning, Rivers, Brady, Palmer, NFC: Brees, Favre, Warner, Rodgers, Romo, Mcnabb These are your playoff QB's. If the Bills have any of them they have 10 wins.

To bad teams aren't made up of 1st round picks. List what Butler did in the later rounds and you'll see why this team went into a tailspin.

Dude, have you ever played a sport past 9th grade? I had a strength coach make a list of all of the Olineman over 30% body fat and post in the weight room in front of all of the cardio machines for everyone to see! A closet is freakin child's play. -
I count two perrenial pro bowlers. Moulds might have been an HOFer on a good team. Why don't you post the rest of the rounds, they were horrible and the eventual demise of this team.

Thats like saying Flutie was our best QB since Kelly.

Saw the video of the "closet" he was "locked" in and it was the size of a freekin loft, just ask The Senator. I've seen a lot worse in practice, film session, meetings, etc. This is barely a tap on Jame's limp wrist. -
YOU PEEKED!

When those players from UT got kicked off the Vols team for robbing a store on campus Lane Kiffen didn't call them criminals. When Urban Meyer kicked Torre Davis off of the Gators this year he didn't call him stupid. You don't call a 20 year old out on national TV, especially the way he did it. I had no problem with his criticism of Craig James though. We all know parents like that, whether you coach or your kid has a teammate who's parent thinks their child is the only out there. Mike Leach will NOT get a high profile job anytime soon and he's to much of an ego-maniac to be an OC after owning his program for 10 years. It's back to square one, mark my words. -
The Grandaddy of them all!

MRW, I was responding to this post. So many posters on this board come here and just make sh*t up. I asked for a link to support what is probably DellaJohns "theory".

I saw that. Sh*t like that will cost him a job at major university. There is no AD or President who wants to deal with an idiot like that. He's going to have to start all over again at a very low level D1 school (he'll probably be successful). He needs to be put in a shed because his attitude is worse than James or any other cocky player. Mike Leach, Rice is on the phone....OOPS!!!! -
And you and JD can't possibly think that Nix is responsible for that entire list of players. It's a synergistic effort by the entire scouting deparment and front office. But AJ Smith had the final say and you can bet that Nix wasn't the only guy in his ear on draft day.
-
Yeah, a control freak like AJ Smith is going to put his future in the hands of his assistant. Are you a scout for the Chargers or something? If not a link would be nice.
-
So your saying he was on board with every pick or that all of these guys were his recommendations? There are a ton of scouts that argue for "their guy" but it only matters what AJ wanted.
-
Okay, but how many of them are 70?

Bills press conference @2:30-Nix confirmed as new GM
John Cocktosten replied to zdro22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix and Wilson are the Statler and Waldorf of the NFL -
Really? We haven't made the playoffs in a decade. We routinely draft poorly. We run good players out of town without any backup plan. Our choices in coaches are a joke. We don't have a GM. Ect!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you want me to continue? TO didn't have a QB to get him the ball because the Bills FO couldn't see what most Bills fans saw before the season, Trent is an injury prone girl who refuses to make a tough throw. So what was the backup plan? FITZ!!!!!!!! Dude, I'm glad you're optimistic, Happy New Year.
-
TO thrived in SF, Philly and Dallas. He failed in Buffalo for one reason, the Bills are an inept orgazation and they fails in every aspect of football. That was all that needed to be said about TO in Buffalo.
-
Trent has been out of the closet for a couple of years now.
