  1. I have no problem with the Anti-Clausen crowd if they watched the games. But most of the Anti crowd never say, "I watched him play and he was terrrible!" They say, "McShay said he was JP" or "His leadership skills are lacking!". That makes me laugh because how in the eff would you know unless you were in practice or on the team!?!? Eric Olson, who's started at center the past 3 years at ND, recently laughed at the notion of him not being a leader and said that he would not want another QB in the huddle. Clausen is rehabbing and working out with A. Benn (Ill), Spiller(Clem) and Griffen (USC) in Arizona and they all are on record saying that they love him. He's haunted by his arrival to South Bend and his struggles early on. No one ever cites specifics when they report on his "attitude". ND recaps are on you tube, go back and watch him make play after play without an Oline or a running game and then tell me your not impressed.
  2. Brandon Graham would be a great pick if the top OT's and Clausen are off the board. He is the perfect 3-4 OLB and I think it would put Maybin on notice because this guys busts his a**. He got onto the field as a true FR, he's played DT and DE, and lived up to all of the hype coming out of High School. He would have an instant impact on the team.
  3. I'm guessing you were an altar boy...I'd be angry too.
  4. 1962? Not that things have changed since then, but how about a post merger reference?
  5. He did miss a bunch of tackels in the Stanford game. Gerhart trucked him on that goaline run.
  6. Good point. He threw for 450+yds, 75% comp. and 2 TD's and an INT. The fumble was his fault but he did get killed. The pick that he threw hit Floyd right in the #3 and Floyd admitted fault with that pick saying he ran the wrong play. (4:23 on the video below) To bad Clausen didn't play LB that day because Navy ran for almost 400yds, but that has nothing to do with it. I'm guessing you didn't watch...
  7. The funny thing is I hate ND and I couldn't stand him coming into last season. I watched the ND games because everyone of them were exciting to watch. The amazing thing about Clausen is that in all of the close games that ND was in this year, not one of them ended with a pick that he threw or a fumble that was his fault. He was flawless down the stretch in those games despite his horrible O-Line.
  8. I watched him play 10 games this year and there wasn't a moment where I wasn't impressed. The USC game is the one that stands out to me. ND's Oline was way overmatched and he was getting killed. ND's running game was non-existent, Michael Floyd was out and ND's defense just couldn't stop USC. The comeback that he led in that game was all him and he kept hanging in there and making throw after throw. He led ND back and if Kumara doesn't slip out of his cut, he leads an unreal comeback. I am completely sold on the guy.
  9. He was drafted in the 2nd round the year before and started for 3 or 4 years at Louisville, I'm sure teams "saw him in action". Doesn't every player coming out of college have potential?
  10. You can't be serious. QB is not about need, it's the most sought after position in the NFL and if teams could find 4 good ones they would. If a team believed that Brohm had a future, they'd move heaven and Earth to get him, either for a future trade or as a QB. Look at what the Eagles did with Vick. Did they need him, no. He's a 3rd string QB, but they saw future value in him and he's been on the market all offseason. So to say that teams value the 53rd man on their roster instead of a QB with a future is ludicras.
  11. I love McCluster. He made a lot of SEC defenses look silly this year and seems to be a fit for Gailey's offense. Spiller is unreal and he does everything. He scores wherever he is on the field, he'll be worth 12 TD's in his first year. The reason why I wouldn't mind getting him is he has very little tread on his tire. He always split carries up until this year. It always made me crazy watching a Clemson game before Dabo took over because you'd only get Spillier in flashes. I remember watching the opener against Bama 2 years ago, I think he had 9 touches that game and thinking, they know what he can do right? Dabo takes over, Spiller has a monster year and Clemson is in the ACC championship. As many holes as the Bills have, it would be tough to be mad about getting Spiller.
  12. There is no doubt that you are right MB. The mere fact that we have no #2 WR, the same stall of QB's, our decent RT retired from an Oline that is in complete flux and we have a completely new coaching staff with completely different philosiphies puts the Bills in an even bigger whole. For every free agent and change in philosiphy, there has been a hole created. Butler gone, sign Green. K. Williams is displaced from the middle, add Davis but there is a gaping hole @ NT left. Assuming that the Bills are going to draft perfectly and that Edwards/Brohm/Fitz are going to see the light is absurd. Grant it, there is time left, but the Bills history tells you not to hold your breath. We can hope, but being realistic is not welcomed around here.
  13. You're right, it's great that the Bills got a young QB with "potential". But that goes to my original point that Alpha just can't seem to wrap his head around. Using the powers of deduction and the facts, if a QB who was taken in the 2nd round a year earlier and put on waivers and clears (which means 31 teams didn't think he's even worth a 7th round pick), does that QB really have true "potential". Then said QB clears waivers (30 teams pass) and is put on the teams practice squad and left for any team to grab him without compensation (unless the Pack chooses to activate him or match any offer), does that QB really have true "potential"? Again, by using qualitive powers of deduction, teams didn't think he was worth very much, actually teams didn't think he was worth anything. Not because it's my opinion, but the opinion of 30 NFL teams. I would think that 30 NFL teams would jump at the chance to get a guy with true "potential", especially a QB. Again, this would never have happened and situations like this don't happen. So by using logic and also considering that the Bills are never smarter than the rest, what is Brohm other than a wasted 2nd round pick and wishful thinking?
  14. So your comparing Brohm's situation to Tom Brady and Kurt Warners? Brady was never put on a practice squad. Warner was an undrafted FA. Brohm was a 2nd rd pick the year before! Makes sense. And I love how you have this intimate knowledge of what happened in GB. While you've read what Chris Brown wrote and how the Bills "stold" Brohm, I've read plenty that said the Packers didn't care if they lost him. Now given the circumstacnces of his situation, the Packers obviously didn't care if he walked because they put him at risk WHICH NEVER HAPPENS IN THE NFL. AGAIN, WHEN HAS A TEAM EVER WAIVED A 2ND ROUND QB THE NEXT YEAR? IT DOESN" HAPPEN! Alpha,YOUR theory that the Pack loved Brohm but didn't have enough room for him on their roster is wrong and completely ridiculous. I don't even know how you are buying your own BS on this one. Now continue to tell me that i don't know how the PS works.
  15. There is misjudging a player and there is giving up on a player after 1 year in your system. The Pack gave up on him. Don't discount Thompson's ego in all of this either. He whiffed badly with Harrell a year earlier and by him waiving Brohm a year later after burning a 2nd rounder looks bad. Plus, the Packs Oline was a complete mess this year, especially earlier and Rodgers took a beating. So having 3 QB's on the roster is hardly a stretch when your starter is at risk everytime he drops back. I get misjudging talent, but NFL teams don't give up on QB's so quickly (especially young ones). Again, when has this happened?
  16. Again, when has an NFL franchise ever put a young QB (who was a high draft pick just a year earlier) first on waivers and then on a practice squad? Please answer this question! So LMFAO all you want, your argument that GB thought anything of him is absurd because he would have never been put on waivers or the practice squad! Again, I trust the other 30 teams who had a shot at him, not the previous regime or you. Please answer the above quetsion because you seem to be avoiding it.
  17. Okay Captain obvious. If GB thought anything of him, he would've never hit the PS in the first place! Did the Eagles ever let their 3 QB's hit the PS? NO. Could they have used the room on their roster down the stretch? YES! The difference is, Vick and Kolb have value in the NFL and to their team. So while you contend that GB tried to "hide" Brohm, I say that is ludicrous because every good GM out there knows who is where in the NFL and nothing goes under the radar! Yes, Brohm chose to leave, but if he was any good, GB WOULD HAVE NEVER PUT A PLAYER OF VALUE AT RISK therefore they would've never allowed him to walk! WHEN HAS THIS EVER HAPPENEND BEFORE GENIUS!!?? Please answer! So again, it's simple, there is not a team out there who put players at any position on their practice squad who have great value to their team or around the NFL. Please tell me where you have ever seen a QB, which is the most imortant position in the NFL, put on waivers and go on to be a good pro in the last 10 years? Especially when the guy was a 2nd round pick the year before! I didn't think so bro.
  18. Yes, the concept of the practice squad is mind blowingly tough to wrap my head around, like cell lysis or something. If their is a "potential" franchise QB out their who was selected in the 2nd round the year before and all you have to do is cut, lets say, John Wedling, you do it without hesitation. And if the other 30+ teams thought he was worth anything, they would gladly cut their "Wedling" too and outbid the Packers for his services. He cleared waivers! And I did read about what "really happened". The Bills propaganda machine will have you believe that there was some feirce battle over Brohm, when I've read numerous reports that the Pack made an offer that they deemed Brohm to be worthy of and then said, "Don't let the door hit you in the A**" It's not like the Bills signed him to a big contract! So I'm not sure what the disconnect here is or how hard you think it is to understand the madness that is the PS, but again, it's pretty simple, NO ONE WANTED HIM AND HE WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE FOR THE TAKING.....kind of sounds like our head coach!
  19. Ya know what dude, go tell the truth on some other board!
  20. It's pretty simple, if there is a young player available at THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION IN THE NFL for NOTHING and no one came knocking, it means that the other 30+ teams don't think very much of Brohm. Again, when have the Bills ever been smarter than the rest of the league? There is about a 1% chance that Brohm works out but to say that you are "excited" or you "think he could be something" is baseless and silly and a case of more people talking out of their butts on this this board.
  21. You can't have a QB who takes away half of the field himself. His poor throws to the hashes and inability to throw down the middle has hurt this team. The coaching staff has been a mess but the QB's are just as bad. The bottom line is, if you believe in Trent's abilities (I guess there are a few out there), you cannot argue the fact that he is brittle. It's something that has haunted him since college and year after year with the Bills. QB's are going to take hits in this league and you can't have a QB who misses 5 games a year. So IMO, it's time to move on. Mostly because he's just not that good but also because he's so fragilie.
  22. Clausen will be gone before the Bills pick
  23. John Cocktosten loves Ron Washington
  24. The last time Gailey had a good running game was in Miami with Lamar Smith? And to think we almost had Cowher... ...
