  1. Meanwhile, Sean Cody starts for the Ravens....but..but...but Buddy walks on water!!!
  2. If you read the earlier post I was talking about the lack of QUALITY depth from our OLBs.
  3. Dr. Dereustein, the fact that Simon agreed with what I said is all the proof you need. Hell just froze over...
  4. The gameday books are never wrong are they? Come on Doc! I said this before, go actually watch the game. I don't care what they are calling Carrington, he is a DE and he was playing that way to start the game. 4-3 U/U defense, look it up.
  5. I'm not going to argue with you because you are wrong and misinformed. In a base 3-4, OLBs does not put their hand on the ground unless they they are kicking down to DE in passing situations. There are a few reasons they stand up. A 2 point stance allows the OLB to locate the ball quicker so they can squeeze the play down inside or keep outside contain. It also allows them better leverage at the POA since they are always shaded outside of the furthest man. It allows them the ability to float or move around presnap and it also makes executing stunts quicker. Go argue with the wall about this, you are wrong. What was my original point? The Bills will be in a 4-3 over/under base becasue they DON"T have the horses to play OLB in a 3-4. Like I said, when their starting personnel is out there, they are in a 4-3 the majority of the time. They might show other looks, they might call themselves a 3-4 team, but what's been shown in the first couple of games is they will be in a 5 man front, but a 4-3 U/U alignment. 2nd and 11. KW was playing two gaps directly over the center. Every other play, him and Dereus were lined up in a 3 technique and had one gap responsibilities . That is a 4-3 base D.
  6. You don' know the difference between a 3-4 and a 4-3 over/under. I just watched the first 5-6 plays and they were in a 3-4 once. The reason why I know that is because Kyle Williams was shading the center or the guard. He lined up at zero once. When the TE traded, Batten moved from his "over/under" position to stack. Carrington didn't move to adjust. That means they are in a 4-3. I'm not talking about nickel/dime where a OLB kicks down to end on obvious passing downs. A 3-4 OLB NEVER PUTS HIS HAND DOWN IN A BASE DEFENSE BECAUSE IT TIPS THE OFFENSE OFF THAT HE'S COMING amogst other reasons. Football 101 right there. So again, you're wrong.
  7. Thanks John Madden. That reply wasn't to embarrassing. Yeah it is. Kelsay has shown that he is a liability as an OLB and a way better fit for DE in a 4 man front (barely). The Bills are so desperate for anyone to step up that they are experimenting with a 6-5 305 lb Carrington. They have way better 4-3 personnel and the only true hole that they have in a 3-4 (barring injury) is at OLB.
  8. Actually, the Bills have run a 4-3 the majority of the time this preseason because of the lack of ANY QUALITY DEPTH at OLB. So you're counting on Moats, who has been moved back and forth from OLB to ILB 3 or 4 times already? While Batten doesn't fall flat on his face a la Maybin, he looks average at best. Coleman has been completely underwhelming too. Carrington is not suited to play the position. There is a reason that there has never been a 6-5 305lb LB. He looks like he is going to be a solid DE but to count on him as a OLB is ridiculous. Again, the definition of depth is not a bunch of warm bodies because that would mean there is not a team in the NFL without depth. Hell, that would mean the OLine has depth! Depth means having a player who can make an impact off of the bench when someone (Merriman?) goes down. Nice Pollyanna routine though.
  9. WHAT!?!?!? Who is this "depth" that you are talking about? If you mean depth as in we have 7 players who play the position then you are right. But there is very little quality. Merriman comes with a huge IF. After that, Kelsay? Batten is a guy that everyone like because he's an underdog. If you actually watch him play, he's been very average. Carrington is a square peg round hole. No change of direction or closing speed. He is playing way out of position which is a 5 technique DE. Coleman....um, er.... The only impact we have at that position in Merriman and let's see where he is at around week 8.
  10. Buddy Nix's plan Draft scatback pass on OT Bell is not Peters
  11. The truth is that any chance Freddy has been given to perform he has. He's been there through two HIGH first round RBs in th elast 4 years (BTW, WHO THE EFF DOES THIS!) and both have proven inferior. Yet the Bills are still trying to replace him? He's not a baby at all, he sees things that go on at OBD and it continues to blow his mind.
  12. The clock starts next year? Can I have you as my boss please!?! After a decade plus of ineptitude I would hope that you would have loftier goals! But that's the Pollyanna's war cry, "At least they are still the BUFFALO Bills!!!"
  13. We should cut Bell and Fire the OC...it worked a couple of years ago.
  14. I'll take it!! The Clippers made the playoffs back to back in '05-'06! Speaking of the Clippers, if Ralph = Sterling does Buddy Nix = Elgin Baylor?
  15. It was Nix's team right after he decided to take a scatback with his 1st pick in charge. Not sure if anyone noticed that none of the players that he chose in the 2010 draft will start on opening day either. Carrington looks to be the most promising although I'm not quite sure how much of a true impact player he will be. Great job Buddy, at least you picked Ed Wang to solve the horrible offensive line.
  16. I didn't know Gailey had to throw in a wrinkle to make the offensive line block.
  17. Eball, you've inspired me! I'm not going to watch a single Bills game this year but I'm going to start a new thread every Sunday night on how the Offensive line sucked today!
  18. I'll sum it up for you. His point was that the Bills have been so good for so long that a little blip on the radar screen isn't a cause for concern.
  19. Isn't this is what Nix's job?!?!? His job is not to regret moments of hindsight, it's to make the right pick which he didn't do! Seriously, the excuse train is insane! Don't mention that he didn't pick Pouncey or Salfold either! But that's our boy Buddy! If Dareus doesn't fall to him this year he would've screwed that pick up to. Then go ahead and take a CB instead of an O Lineman in the 2nd too! The problem with Buddy is that he's a arrogant hick who thinks he's smarter than everyone else. What you don't want to admit is that he didn't make those picks because he thought Bell and Pears were going to be fine. Von Miller and Dumerville were blowing past our tackles without the help of a blitz. They were man situations and they straight got beat. Wood was a disaster too...Bunkley ate his lunch last night.
