  1. You better be careful SoCal, Buddy is walking on water right now which means the TBD are monitoring your every word.
  2. Another D bag with a twitter account. Ain't happening. The Bills think they can win this year and they need this draft for depth.
  3. We are talking about LT's. Btw, McKenzie was a 3rd pick and Clifton, who started at LT in the SB was a 2nd rd pick. It's a very valid point because it shows that you don't need to reach for OTs high in the draft. Jonathan Scott and Wayne Gandy were train wrecks in Buffalo. Why? Because Trent and JP couldn't read defenses and sat in the pocket all day long. However, they both played in SBs the year after they left Buffalo protecting Kurt Warner and BB. QBs make their Oline look good. Fitz made this Oline look better this year too.
  4. That has always been my major criticism of Buddy. He wanted the 3-4 but he never payed attention to the most important position. He counted on a chronically injured has been, converted 5 techinique DE's and a bunch of 5th round D3 players to fill the role of "our" Demarcus Ware. It was unfair to even put guys like Johnson and Carrington at OLB in the first place but that's what happens when you ignore an obvious problem. Hopefully Buddy learned a lesson...we'll see come the draft.
  5. What is with he Left Tackle mafia around here lately? LT is NOT the 2nd most important position in the game. Not even close. Joe Thomas, Jake Long, Michael Roos and Jason Peters are the consensus best tackles year after year in the NFL and they never take their teams to the playoffs. A QB who makes quick decisions and has good pocket presence makes his Oline look a lot better. Here is a stat for you. There hasn't been a OT picked in the first round to start in the super bowl in since 2007. Great teams pick impact players up near the top of the draft.
  6. Spencer Johnson, Danny Batten, Chris Kelsay, Arhtur Moats and Shawn Merriman playing OLB were the reason that it didn't work. Nothing more, nothing less.
  7. Alshon Jeffery was a hell of a football player before Garcia malfunctioned and screwed up South Car's season. Then AJ showed up this year fat and out of shape. The problem with Jeffery is that he's lazy. Not sure that I want the next Mike Williams. Here a pic of AJ right before the season started, he's the fat guy on the right. Btw, Ingram is on the far right. http://thesportaholicnews.blogspot.com/2011/08/is-1-offensive-lineman.html
  8. Not really sure what you're saying? College defenses adjust their fronts just like the pros do especially with all of the spread offenses. Do you think USC is going to stay in their base cover 2 when they're playing Oregon? No. The 43 over is going to be the Bills base D and their fronts will be dictated by the offensive personnel on the field...that's football.
  9. I really like Russel Wilson. He was awesome at NC State before he completely dominated the Big 10 last year with an average bunch of WRs and TEs. Extremely clutch, a live arm and very mobile. Mature behind his years. Take him in the 4th-5th round and develop him behind Fitz. He'll start somewhere in a few year if not sooner.
  10. I posted this before: Starting left tackles the last 4 Super bowls and round they were drafted in: 2012- Light/2nd Diehl/5th 2011- Jonathan Scott(former Bill)/5th Clifton/2nd 2010- Bushrod/4th Johnson/6th 2009- Starks/3rd Mike Gandy(former Bill)/3rd The QBs on those teams? Brees, Brady, Manning, Warner, Big Ben, Rodgers, Eli. QBs make the Oline look better. Fitz gets the ball out of his hands quickly(where it's going is anyone's guess) and moves well in the pocket. Fitz got hit the least out of any QB last year and it wasn't because we had great tackles. The impact edge rushers on those teams: Mathews, Woodley, Harrison, Freeney, Mathis, Tuck, Osi, JPP..... impact plays off of the edge change games. If there is an impact edge rusher there, he will be and should be the pick. LT is the most overrated position in the game.
  11. The D Line is the key to this defense. Up field pressure and 1 gap schemes that lead to lots of TFLs and backfield havoc. Dareus will thrive playing 3 tech. 3 tech alignment alone will always give him the advantage to the strong side. I remember hearing Warren Sapp, who played 3 in this defense, say that Dareus's best position would be the 3...I'll take Sapp's word for it. KW is going to look a lot like the guy from 2 years ago because he's back in a 1 tech with a tilt which again gives him the advantage playside. I expect Bills opponents to running a lot of misdirection this year and then we'll see how good those LBs are. A guy like Keuckly would dominate in this defense and is a true Mike. His instincts are off the charts and he doesn't miss tackle. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Buddy picks him. Wanny ran the same defense at Pitt and has always run this defense. He's from the JJ/Butch Davis tree and they all run the same defense. He's not changing. Maybe we'll draft Coples to be "our" Tony Tolbert.
  12. They are the perfect warm weather band. As soon as the temp hits 60 I gotta throw them on. Love Little Bones, Locked in a trunk (live) and Poets. Grace Too got me started. They are one of the greatest bands live. Can't wait to see them this summer!
  13. Wanny plays an "over" 4-3 which is the same defense that Jimmy Johnson brought to he great Hurricane teams and then later to the Cowboys. This article tells you all that you need to know about the defense and the personnel that the Bills are going to use. Dareus and KW are going to dominate inside next year! http://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2010/9/28/1695461/miami-unc-the-4-3-over-slide-front
  14. So let's overpay for an average, injury prone left tackle? 6-2 210 is a little small for LT.
  15. For all of the Bell lovers out there it looks like a weak market for the big guy. I'd take him back at 4 yr 13-16 mill total and no more. That would really open up the draft options.
  16. I forgot how good they are. Anyone a fan? Favorite song/album?
  17. The Bills had the least amount of 3rd down conversions in the NFL last year. The Bills went for 2000 yds @ over 5 YPC last year and we gotta a QB that can't throw deep too. Run the ball.
  18. Starting left tackles the last 4 Super bowls and round they were drafted in: 2012- Light/2nd Diehl/5th 2011- Jonathan Scott(former Bill)/5th Clifton/2nd 2010- Bushrod/4th Johnson/6th 2009- Starks/3rd Mike Gandy(former Bill)/3rd The QBs on those teams? 19. I don't care who starts as long as Gailey get them both 15-20 touches a piece. Enough of throwing deep on 3rd and short!
  20. Buddy has consistently said that he likes college players that have a sustained and proven track record. I don't see Hill being that guy. I do see Floyd being that guy but #10 is way to high for him IMO.
  21. I'm not saying offensive tackles aren't important. I'm saying that you don't need to draft one high. If you have a QB that has some pocket mobility and can process defenses quickly than there is no need for an iron curtain in front of him. Wayne Gandy protected Kurt Warner's blind side in the super bowl a couple of years ago. Jonathan Scott was Big Ben's LT last year. Chad Clifton protected the leagues MVP. A good QB makes the Oline look better just look at Indy since Tarik Glenn left. If Fitz has one strength, it's getting rid of the ball. Guys like Terrel Suggs, Clay Mathews and JPP were all selected high and do more than fill up stat sheets. They cause fumbles and make momentum changing plays that turn a game on a dime. Joe Thomas, Jake Long and Ferguson just aren't doing that. It's about impact plays. That's why Mario just got 100 mill.
  22. Can anyone name the Giants starting offensive tackles? How about their defensive ends? If the right DE is there you draft him. If not, trade back.
