  1. You know the injury bug is going to sting you. It still seems to catch you by suprise. I don't remember in the game seeing him get injured or react as if he had been injured. His late TD catch was all hands. This is too bad. It takes time to develope chemistry and confidence between a quaterback and receivers. You can't just substitute a body. I guess this will force the issue and accelerate the learning curve with Hardy/Jenkins. That will be good in the long run. He does have the special ability to break the big one anytime. CRAAAAAPPPPP where going to miss him.
  2. I'll go with Antoine. I liked his toughness. The way he would decleat a 265 lb tide end. I got tired watching Nate run along side the receiver who just caught the ball playing pattycake and trying to strip the ball while the receiver racked up the RAC. I also got tired ot Nate and his agent telling how great he was
  3. Uma Thurman? That was the best you could think of?
  4. Since a perfect regular season has only happened twice in the history of the NFL, I don't think we can quite yet seriously comtemplate that for the 08 Bills. A team on the rise.....Absolutely Double digit wins definitely possible. 3 & 0, you can't take that away from us. The problem with talking 16-0 now, besides be totally unrealistic, is that it puts unfair expectations on the team. Personally, I would be very gratified with a 11-5 regualr season. I don't want to be dissappointed with a 11-5 season. So lets appreciate the positive change, be excited we got a young team that is showing its teeth and enjoy the ride one game at a time. How long has it been since we have been this excited about the season 3 games in?
  5. Good points and that certainly was evident today. It was dissappointing to see the O-line struggles. Especially on pass protection. The fact that they stepped up at the end reveals some character and the capacity is there to play at that level. Even in the kelly era, we had games where everyone seemed out of synch. Its still a young team and a young season. This game will give the coaches game material to try to shore up on our weaknesses. I am just glad we could expose our weaknesses and still come out with a win. Peters obviously needs some more work to maintain a high level through 4 quarters. It is exciting though to see the team wim again in the 4th quarter. It builds that mentality that you are never out of a game. It has been a long time since I felt that way.
  6. Well said. I too am interested to see how Belichick responds and how much winning he can manufacture due to his 'scheming'. I hope he is humbled. I hope he gets a big piece of humble pie slammed down his throat.
  7. Jauron has to balance putting the best product on the field without disrupting chemistry. Fortunately, the O-line play has afforded us the luxury of allowing Peters to earn it for 2-3 weeks before getting the start. It is in Peters best interest to earn it and even be inactive for a week or not start for several weeks so that the players will feel like he paid his dues and accept him back. I was just glad he passed his pyhsical
  8. Where in Houston are you? I am in West Houston (Katy)
  9. My guess is that Parker is telling Peters to wait a couple games into the season to see how bad the o-line struggles and that will give him leverage for contract negotiations. That is absolutely the only card they have. The only problem is that 1, the O-line may not struggle - which is unlikely and 2, even if the o-line does struggle, Brandon is not going to cave. He sees the big picture. When is it finally going to sink into Peters that the Bills are serious and if he wants a career he better show up now.
  10. My family and my brothers family will be watching from Houston - thanks to Direct TV
  11. He is definitely at the age were skills are degrading as opposed to maintaining. So another year older does make a negative difference. I anticipate a bad year for him. I think he is going to feel the pressure to "carry" the team, try to be the hero, force the ball in there and ultimately be reckless with the ball. Didn't he have somethin like 30 interceptions two years ago? The intense media love fest will qickly turn into a stink bomb causing even more pressure and distraction. I think the NYJ fans and even Brett himself will have unrealistic expectations for a new quaterback with new coaches, new schemes and terminology and already missing half of camp. A team with the amount of player transition the Jets have experienced ought to be happy with an 8-8 season but I think the perspective is that would be a failure.
  12. I'm glad you posted that. I was a bit cynical about drafting Hardy when several other 'blue chip' receivers were available but Hardy is growing on me. There is a difference between being tall and knowing how to use your size to give you an advantage. I think he knows how to use his size to create match up problems.
  13. I think we have seen in just the preseason that Turk is opening up the offense. He has also publicy stated to put more control in the hands of Edwards to audible at will. I that that kind of trust has to be earned. Edwards has gained confidence with the OC on his decision making and they are gearing the offense around his strengths. Certainly he is very inexperienced so we are still going to have to ride the development curve but it should be interesting. I think giving him this kind of control this early in his development is risky but sometimes the greater the risk, the greater the reward. I think he has the tools and weapons to succeed though and I am cautiously optimistic that the team can develop a rythm and identity offensively and be fun to watch.
  14. You can't get too optimistic from preseason. Opposing defenses aren't showing their stuff. Sure our reshuffled O-line looked OK & Bell looked servicable but how will they look when real bullets start flying in the regular season. You can bet opposing defenses will game plan around Langston lack of lateral quickness. That means we will have to devote a tailback for pass protection. We need Peters to realize the full potential our offense could achieve. One corner blitz from the blind side could end Edwards season.
