  1. I hope he gets a little more "seasoning" before they toss him into the fire!
  2. Good for you -- have a great weekend back home and hope the Bills rock the house on Sunday.
  3. I hope the Bills start surprising folks on Sunday. Go Bills!
  4. Let's reduce it to two games -- and do I need to specify which two games I'm thinking of?
  5. It is a fair and reasonable assessment of the Buffalo Bills. I came away thinking both Cowher and Simms like what they see developing at One Bills Drive. While Cowher does not use the word "sleeper", he does say the Bills could be a surprise team. My dictionary defines sleeper as "one that achieves unexpected recognition or success." So the headline -- which might have been written by Tim Graham but probably was written somewhere along the editing chain -- is not that much of a stretch. By saying the Bills could surprise people implies (or at least I inferred) that the Bills will win more games than most people expect. Cowher likes Buffalo's chances to be competitive in 2010, but more importantly he says they are a team that is looking to improve going forward: "I think with the Buffalo Bills you're going to see a team that plays hard, a team that's going to reestablish an identity, and they're in the process of changing the culture." Phil Simms, meanwhile, has a positive impression of Trent Edwards (and Chan Gailey's impact on Edwards). As for the team, he says, "I think we'll see that they're on the right track and getting themselves in position where they can make a playoff run in the near future." I'm guessing that most Bills fans will find this article reflects their expectations: A team that will be improved, more entertaining and have a better record than most non-fans expect.
  6. Agreed, Spiller creates a lot of possiblities. Also. if he can pick up (and block) blitzers, he'll be a godsend.
  7. sounds good to me. what good is a stealth bomber if you can see it?
  8. When he signed on to the Washington team with the racist nickname he worked with Joe Gibbs. I thought he might learn something from Gibbs, but Gibbs was a bust his second time around. That said, if Greggo has two brain cells to rub together, he's learning the craft. will he be a great head coach someday? who knows.
  9. Mostly in agreement. My quibbles are around the edges: Receptions? I'd go a little more balanced between Jackson and Spiller. But mostly I'm in agreement.
  10. The guys in the Falls? I grew up with them. I don't ever want to go there.
  11. To get rid of those people, you need to be able to swing a big f**king club in Albany. Good luck.
  12. He was a bust as a head coach -- but damn he's a good DC
  13. Yeah -- can you imagine the paranoia level rising to lift-threatening levels if they flew over?
  14. Now there's a BOLD idea. What do you think Merle?
  15. If they really want to shake up the faithful, maybe they could get the Canadian eqivalent of the Blue Angels to do a flyover!
  16. Dan Snyder gets ripped for spending money on free agents because he spends money like he's in a fantasy league. He's spent a ton of money on total losers (archuleta, anyone, or maybe Albert "$100 million man" Haynesworth) because they were the "hot" names. That's not good management. That's ego. And the Washington NFL team with the racist nickname hasn't done squat despite it's spending. As for Shanahan, he turned the Bills down. My theory is that he didn't have the balls to take on a difficult situation. Besides, Shanahan's record in his last three years at denver was .500. Maybe he's not all that he's cracked up to be.
  17. Could it be that we don't live there? LOL And, as I've asked you many times already, how many of the seven natural wonders of the world have sports stadiums built on top of them. I'd like a straight answer, please.
  18. But answering your question. I can't see the Bills winning only 2 games. Eight games -- that might be a stretch but not impossible. But definitely more than two.
  19. Didn't see his hair, but with that defense, he could look like Grandpa Munster.
  20. You're absolutely right. Nothing matters until the games count. But i feel a whole lot better going into this season than I have in I don't know how long. GO BILLS!
  21. When I first started dating the woman who I married, her parents let us use their season tickets for a game. Between the 45 and 50 yard lines about 16 to 20 rows up (scoreboard was on our left). When we sat down, I looked around, looked up to the heavens, pumped my fists and said YES. Sadly, my wife and I had to leave the area (got jobs in the DC area) and never got to make real use of the tickets. But it was sweet while it lasted.
  22. If you can get past the obstacles in the county, you have to deal with the state government. Then you have to figure out how to pay for it. Who's got the $$$$ to pay for a new stadium, because the county and the state don't have the money, or the borrowing power, to pull it off.
  23. Based on the opening drive, the game doesn't look like it's going to keep us awake beyond the first quarter.
