Only one thing necessary to say. If Jauron has been calling the plays, or telling Turk to keep Jackson out of the running game until late in the game, then Turk gets a pass for everything but being a wussbag who listens to a stupid HC. But if Jauron has NOT been the one in charge of keeping Jackson on the sidelines instead of running the ball every other down, then Turk is the idiot. Think that's it, really.

Go to Sabres.com and you can see what my take is on the team. I can answer your question just fine, but there's no way you will "believe" my assessment, regardless of how well I elucidate it. I've been around these boards far too long to buy that load of crap. But seriously, I'm not here to fight with anyone. The Sabres have a couple players in their locker room who are consistently not listening to Lindy Ruff when it comes to backchecking, smart dump-ins, positioning without the puck, and general awareness. That's his beef with them. And I think it's rubbing off on some of the lesser players, and THAT is killing the team. MY beef with the team as a whole, as well as a good number of other regular posters at Sabres.com, is the lack of toughness in the corners and in one-on-one puck battles, shot blocking, clearing the crease, standing in the opponent's crease, and dropping the gloves to get things going for their team. The Sabres have become a team of followers, and they rely on Vanek to score for them, Kaleta to hit for them, and Peters to fight for them, and NONE of them seem to be able to shoot the puck straight. Their two goaltenders also seem to be losing THEIR focus, as well, and what that says to me is that there is alot going on in that locker room that is distracting them. MY guess? Roy and Pommers.

That's not surprising, coming from a guy who obviously is still under the false impression that Marv Levy was a good coach.

The two Buffalo Teams are a story of mirror opposites. With the Bills, you have some really talented players and some not-so-talented players, but the key ingredient in their poor play is their brain-dead coaching staff and overrated owner and ex-GM. In the Sabres, you have one of the best coaches in the NHL, as evidenced by how he got THIS year's crew to play so well that they won 7 of those first 9 wins methodically, smartly, and with passion, but a small group of the most talented players are enjoying their new fat paychecks so much that they don't care to work so hard anymore. It makes their feet hurt to skate so hard anymore. And their juvenile and selfish attitudes are rubbing off on their peers. Lindy Ruff should read up on football, because the Bills could use a mind like HIS in charge of their ship. And Jauron should go coach those asshats with the big contracts at HSBC, and they can all watch their fat paychecks dwindle, along with their careers, in oblivion as we all forget their names.

Turk Schonert has to be the biggest bust I've seen here in a long time. He came in promising that we'd see much more ballsy playcalling, and after 10 weeks, Jauron's already lulled him to sleep. Nobody even REMEMBERS how the Bills were gonna use the no-huddle a whole bunch this year, do ya? And Edwards IS getting surprised by identical defensive schemes game after game. Fewell has created a defensive scheme that confuses his own players, and that does speak of Jauron and his stupid degree from Yale, but the way Turk has become Steve Fairchild II speaks of Jauron's overall wussiness, perhaps also a product of Yale, I don't know. They both should resign and coach Men's Rowing, a real Yale sport, and a sport where it's GOOD for the participants to face backwards while moving forwards. And they should take Marv and his Million Dollar O-Line with them.
