Ralph Wilson is a d*ck. Uh oh, was that sexist? Or is it only sexist if I get my stripper girlfriend to say it?
-
Yeah, thought so. Too much time reading Andrea Dworkin, I suppose. The c*nt.
-
And you're obviously not Ivan Stang.
-
Thanks, the train was starting to get off track there.
-
You're a disgrace to Discordians everywhere. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO And I'm sure we've ALL been called worse. It's a freaking WORD, Dean. Jesus.
-
Conversely, looking at the decades of mediocrity and utter abysmal play following Polian's rude dismissal, one might say that the dumb fatty should have been the one to suck it up and take one for the "team" (you know, the thousands of ticket-buying, merchandise-buying, and bull sh---buying FANS). And again, from what I've heard, she really IS a c*nt.
-
The question isn't even ABOUT how much to spend on players. It's about how Ralph will never hire a Head Coach (or GM, as the topic was obviously deficient in its original verbage, my apologies) worth a sh-- because they will all cost too much for his cheap ass.

Turn in your Pope Card, seriously.

Neither opinion is right or wrong. One, however, will turn out to cost the opinion holder less money in wasted merchandise. I'm pretty sure that we will all be able to cheer for other teams soon, as the BILLS are almost assuredly moving, and any place that gets them will most certainly not want to keep the team name the Bills, as anywhere else the name would just be dumb.
-
The Discordians would laugh at you for even thinking that, Dean.
-
I knew you were really Marv. Because from what I heard, she IS a c*nt.
-
Rumor had it, Polian called Ralph's daughter, an employee of the BILLS at the time, the "C" word, and when he heard this, Ralph fired him immediately. This rumor went unsupported and then became forgotten. The rumor also included, however, Ralph's EXTREME displeasure with not being able to meddle in personnel decisions and draft day activity, and I believe the evidence speaks for itself, seeing how many times Ralph has been allowed to meddle since Polian left.

Well, I'm not privy to all the current GMs and their contracts. But if there are any that are coming to the end of their contracts and have winning records with their current teams or their overall record, I'd start with them. If none are available in that pool, I'd look at anyone THEY recommend. Retired GMs? Sure, if they have winning records. Then, I'd let THEM pick the HC and staff, making certain that they chose wisely. Again, with this many years in the NFL, the abundance of peers to solicit must be astounding. Ralph simply needs to beat feet and start interviewing EVERYONE.
-
Because, again, I'm not putting the money before the choice, as you keep insisting. I am saying that I believe the BILLS owner will not even approach guys who have the qualities needed to build a winner here, because they will be the types of guys who already demand bigger money than Ralph has ever spent.
-
Parcells wasn't cheap, I bet. So when you count the GM position needing to be filled, the chances that Ralph gets even ONE of those two positions filled by quality goes down even more.
-
But the POINT was, who really thinks that Ralph has plans to hire someone who will cost him big money?
-
Well then at least forget the Toronto comments and argue the point of the thread. K?

OK, since you're going to be difficult about it: "A long-term deal by which the Bills play in both Toronto and Buffalo might make economic sense. Television revenue is the same for all NFL teams, meaning there’s no small-city penalty for games in Buffalo; and despite its depressed economics, Buffalo is consistently in the top 10 for NFL attendance. If some games were played in Canada, the cost of season tickets in Buffalo would decline because of a smaller home slate, keeping season tickets affordable and attendance high. And the team would add a fan base in North America’s fifth-largest city, giving itself two sets of supporters—one set quite prosperous, paying for tickets and merchandise with the suddenly valuable Canadian dollar. ~except 1. This argument is ridiculous. It says basically, the BILLS season tickets would be cheaper because there'd be fewer home games to go to. Duhhhhhhhhh. AND, it asserts that more Bills fans WOULD be created in Canada. That is by far NOT a given, especially when you look at the game that we played there against the Fins. Those people barely knew which team to cheer for. And Rich Stadium (humor me) already caters to Canadian fans. To assume that games at the Rogers Centre would CREATE more is pure speculation and far from objective. The Bills could help forge mutual affection between the cities—even a regional identity. Buffalo’s civic promotion has generally reached southward; in this newly globalized world, it should reach northward, toward a country that is as underappreciated among nations as Buffalo is among cities. ~What does that even mean? Connections to cosmopolitan, multicultural Toronto might change Buffalo’s image from backward-focused to wave-of-the-future. Toronto is growing by leaps and bounds, and some portion of the growth may already be spilling over; most of the immigrants to Buffalo in recent years were Canadian. Buffalo offers urban living free of traffic jams and boasts one of the nation’s last underdeveloped stretches of premium waterfront. During its City of Light heyday, when Buffalo was the first electrified metropolis, Frank Lloyd Wright, Frederick Law Olmsted, and other fabled names designed homes and parks. In the lovely Delaware Park area, magnificent Beaux Arts homes sell at exceedingly low prices compared with homes in elite U.S. cities—or in Toronto. ~Not only not objective, but insulting and far too near-sighted. Not to mention, it once again contradicts itself when it mentions how many Canadians ALREADY come down to B-Lo. So long as the Bills keep a foot in the city, they keep alive the dream of a Super Bowl win—a hope that an infusion of Loonies (Canadian dollars) might sustain. And should the Bills win the Super Bowl, Buffalo will return to national prominence. I don’t just think this will happen, I know it will. ~Canadian Loonies ALREADY sustain it. Look, Dean, I'll concede that neither side of this argument can prove its claims. Let's get back to the real point, shall we? The one that says that Ralph is hoarding cash and will never pay a quality coach to come here, even to entertain them so they could turn US down.

Me fail English? Unpossible!!

how will the bills market themselves next year?

Just don't have JP throwing the ball. -
Horseshit. What MY assertion is, is that, in order to attract a quality (ie WINNING) existing HC at the end of his contract, or even a retired WINNING Head Coach, you need to spend FAR more than Ralph has been known to spend. I'm done with this conversation. Besides, you call your article "objective" when it is far from it.

Do you really believe all this stuff or do you just like playing devil's advocate?
