  1. Fitz - probably the current best leader, but his ability is definitely questionable, also he is clearly the most expensive Trent - probably the most accurate, but might be too scarred mentally Brohm - wildcard, hasn't panned out in the league, but if given a shot - who knows Brown - I like this kid. He has the attitude to make it. My prediction - If Edwards shows he is not completely mentally fried, he is in (not necessarily starting), if not - he is out. Fitz is two-fold - he either wins the position outright or has to see Edwards fail. I don't think they keep him as a #2 unless TE is completely mindmush. Brohm has a shot to start and will be #2 if Edwards is decent. Brown is your #3.
  2. Bills clearly added another RB to replace Mendenhaal (guess he didn't work out)
  3. This could be the ultimate end game with picking Calloway. Future line: Wang - Levitre - Wood - Calloway - ?
  4. For a proven starting left tackle? I would be willing to part with more than 2nd.
  5. If we end up trading for Gaither. He will immediately sure up a questionable line. The question is, how many wins do you think he is worth. Consider the following - right now our OL weakness is LT, where we clearly are lacking. However getting Gaither, gives us 3 potential pro-bowlers on the line (Gaither, Wood and Levitre). Also, bringing in Gaither may result in Bell moving to RT, giving us at least a healthy competition for that position, which should improve the play there. Hangman is a smart player that is at least servicable until Wood moves to center. Throw in Wang, Calloway and Meredith - you have some young up in coming talent that you could properly develop. Flip side - No Gaither - Bell is subpar at LT, with no competition at RT Green wins by default - who is average at best. Hangman - again servicable - but when your bookends are weak, the whole line looks worse making him a bigger liability. The young guys may get thrown in the fire and make tons of mistakes in on the job training. We need Gaither - Buddy get it done!!!!
  6. Disregarding the fact that Lynch had most of the carries inside the 5 (even when Jackson carried most of the drive), the stats are misleading. First, Jackson technically only had 3 fumbles (2 were at the end of the game when they were doing "lateral" plays to score a TD). Second, Lynch had countless number of drops (I still don't understand how people say he is "good" out of the backfield when he drops 1/3 of the balls thrown to him). On top of which, most of 2009, Jackson would return the kickoff or punt and then go right in and run the ball (talk about exhausting). Jackson is clearly more versatile, has better vision, better hands and most of all a better attitude. Lynch is a good backup and a change of pace back, but is not starting on this team...

  8. +1. For the money Fitz has the least value.
  9. I was speaking with an NFL exec of another franchise and he gave me some insight on why it was actually better for Lynch not to be traded. If the Bills had traded him on draft day, we may have gotten a 3rd or 4th at best. However, if a premier back in the league gets hurt during training camp, preseason or early in the season, he would be highly sought after and would be worth a 1st or 2nd plus. Given the number of quality backs with not so quality backups, this may have been the right move to make.
  10. Do you think they would look to trade Stroud and Williams prior to day one?
  11. Below is my initial stab at our starting line-up. Without knowing Gailey's offensive scheme, I went with the assumption that he is going to have a "flex" back on the field that will often line up in the slot or as a 2nd back. Offensively - I am assuming that Wood will be healthy and Johnson beats out Hardy. Defensively, with the acquisition of Troup, I have moved Williams to DE. I assume Schobel is back for 1 more year (if not, slot Moats as the other OLB - I know they are projecting him at ILB). QB - Edwards RB - Jackson Flex - Spiller WR - Evans WR - Johnson TE - Nelson LT- Bell LG - Levitre C - Hangartner RG - Wood RT - Green DE - Stroud NT - Troup DE - Williams OLB - Schobel ILB - Posluszny ILB - Davis OLB - Maybin CB - McGee CB - Florence FS - Byrd SS - Whitner
  12. Maybe he accidentally skipped a line on the scantron.
  13. Think outside the box. And George Wilson is a WR, Eric Wood is a Center, Nic Harris is a Safety and Jairus Byrd is a CB.
  14. With the addition of Spiller into the backfield, could Fred Jackson be moved out to WR? Last year they used him spread a fair amount of time and coaches stated "he was one of the best route runners they had". He clearly has hands and is very versatile. Given our "loaded" backfield and questionable WR depth - I could forsee Gailey featuring Spiller and find a way to keep Jackson on the field. Thoughts?
  15. .... just entered "Beat it" Mode... See ya
  16. I was looking back at the Bills in their glory years and look at how many top 100 picks we had. It was sick... Starting line up and overall Pick QB - Kelly - 14 RB - Thomas - 40 WR - Reed - 86 WR - Lofton - 6 WR - Beebe - 82 TE - Metzelaars - 75/McKeller - 227 OT - Wolford - 20 OT - Ballard - 283 G - Ritcher - 16 G - Parker - 69 C - Hull - undrafted DE - Smith - 1 DE - Seals - 109/ Hansen - 54 NT - Smerlas -32/ Wright 213 OLB - Bennett - 2 OLB - Talley - 39 ILB - Conlan - 8 ILB - Bailey 235 CB - Odomes - 29 CB - Jackson - 129 SS - Smith - 17/ Jones - 26 FS - Kelso - 261
  17. Not a first rounder - but how about Bucky Brooks - pick 48 in 1994 - could be worst 2nd rounder of all time Can someone tell me who the heck these 2 guys were? 1985 - #29 G Mark Traynowicz 1984 - #41 WR Eric Richardson
  18. Not trying to put the cart before the horse, however I feel as though we've played this game before. The chance of that scenario happening is probably less than 1% - but, with our luck, that will be the scenario.
  19. IF the Bills were to trade for Big Ben, an unlikely, potential problem could occur. Assuming he is out 5 games, it would mean one of the 3 headed hydra (TE, Fitz, Brohm) would have to start. One could envision a scenario where the Bills start 4-1 or 5-0 (albeit unlikely). If that were to happen, on Ben's return, you will have a serious QB controversy on your hands - Ben - a proven Superbowl winner fresh off suspension on a new team vs. a hot hand who has us winning our division. A controversy like this could be a season killer. My vote for Big Ben is no - not for this unlikely scenario or his talent, but his character is just flawed.
  20. If I was a betting man, my thoughts of Schobel are as follows: He is a family man and probably talked to management to see if they can trade him to Houston to be close to his family. He probably told management that if he is not traded that he will retire as a Bill and to keep everything hush hush to both raise his trade value if he is traded and keep it quiet so if he is not traded he can retire with grace. My bet is look for him to be traded on draft day or announce his retirement immediately following.
  21. 2 possible Bills extreme predictions for 2010: Positive - Clausen drops to pick #9, the Bills take him, but it doesn't matter as Trent somehow manages to come out of his shell and throws for 4000 yards to the primary beneficiaries of Hardy and Johnson - who both turn out to be the real deal. A strong LT is picked up in Round 2, Wood returns ahead of schedule, Green is adequate and the line gels, causing Jackson to get 2000 all-purpose yards and Lynch happily running for 600. Aaron Maybin becomes the 2nd coming of Derrick Thomas due to the 3-4 switch and Jairus Byrd is the primary beneficiary as he sets an NFL record for INT's. Overall the defense stays healthy and is top 5. The Bills roll to 13-3 and manage to win the Super Bowl. Moorman goes to the pro-bowl along with 7 others. Negative - Bills draft Tebow with pick 9 as a developmental pick. In true Trent fashion, he dislocates his shoulder on his throwing arm the first week and Tebow is forced to play earlier than scheduled. Wood fails to return, Green is a mess and the line looks like swiss cheese. Between the weak line and Tebow's slow delivery, Tebow is forever ruined from the amount of hits he takes. Jackson has a serious injury and the Bills have to rely on Walter Mendenhaal because Lynch is suspended for the season due to off the field antics. The switch to 3-4 turns out to be a disaster. Without a true NT and have 4-3 DT's acting as 3-4 DE's we are left without a decent pass rush and cannot stop the run. Maybin remains a bust, Shobel retires. We are in the bottom 5 in both Offense and Defense. Moorman goes to the pro-bowl as the team goes 4-12 and the NFL decides to relocate the franchise to Toronto.
  22. If you are going to rank these 4, it is pretty easy Worst - Rob Johnson -The most sacked QB per drop back in NFL history. The guy had all the tools and none of the confidence 2nd Worst - Losman - Again, all the tools, none of the confidence. He was better than Johnson as did show flashes of brilliance 2nd Best - Collins - this is debatable (he could be the best). He was thrown to the wolves one season too soon. If he had another year under Kelly's supervision, he may have been significantly better (a glipse of what he could have been showed up during his Redskins career) Best - Edwards - In a Bills uniform, he clearly posted the best record and the best ability to lead (that is not saying much given the group). If I had my choice, I would take Edwards hands down over the other 3. If he was given the Todd Collins situation and lived one year under Kelly, he could've gotten the confidence he needed to throw down field.
