  1. At that point he is no longer a 'defenseless reciever' - he is a ball carrier and he needs to be tackled. F you goodell you total f***face loser that hates real football. I'd rather see them fine QBs for throwing buddy passes over the middle. eat sh*t and die.
  2. The NFL blindly stands behind their officials and I am not sure why. The league needs to seriously review and fire rafs that suck. This is also another reason to do away with instant replay. This was a huge play in that game a 100% BS holding call altered the game, yet it is not challengable. That holding call had no less affect on the game than a TD/INT catch being reviewed. Like the ten minute review they had of the Searcy INT last week.... why can they review the catch/int but not the obvious double armed take down hold on Merriman? Either everything in every play needs to be reviewable or nothing does. I prefer nothing, because even after review they dont get the call right (evidence being Syracuse/Toledo among many others)
  3. Wood has some nice combo blocks getting the the second level, which opened some huge holes for FJ. I still think the difference in our OL and the Pats is large and evident. If Brady had to play behind our OL he would curl up and cry. PS: FJ is a PB lock this year, if our team performs he has a elgit shot and league MVP too. Beasting.
  4. The replay they showed on TV clearly showed that the player was NOT engaged when Wood cut him. Bad call. The tackle on Welker by Byrd, the roughing the passer on Fitz in the endzone, and the PI call on Nelson in the endzone(a defender has the same rights to a spot ont he field as the offense, IMO the Pats guy kinda just stood in Nelsons way, legal in my view and legal 2-3 years ago) on the same drive, were all 'weak calls' IMO - BUT thats the new NFL. Those 'weak' calls are called league wide these days. The worst calls were the non calls on Kelsay - who was blatently held, tackled, and/or bear hugged all day. There could have, and shold have, been 5 holding calls on Kelsay alone. The refs were bad for both teams. Pats got the calls in the 1st half, us in the 2nd I think (minus obvious holding calls being ignored all day) The deffinition of a LEGAL chop block. The dude was not engaged.
  5. Better than Miami. PS: He is not over rated
  6. Belicheck has zero SB wins without cheating.
  7. Its not a bad call, its a bad rule/penalty. Welcome to Goodell's NFL. No hitting allowed.
  8. How do you let Wlker get 156 catches? He runs 2 routes, an in or out, depending on which side the defender is on (he runs the other way). BRACKET HIM, or at least show the look hakf the time! gosh.
  9. I like Vick, but we play them in two weeks. I hope this keeps him out.
  10. Great DL that beat us up last season. Good test for the OL, but I am thinking Chiefs game type of outcome.
  11. He was argueing that the clock continued to run for a few seconds after FJ scored and he wanted that time back on the clock. He was prob right.
  12. I saw him take the knee without dropping it so I knew he was down with it. F the Pats for hitting fitz on the following snap. Fagg raf shoulda thrwe another flag.
  13. That was a BS chop block call. Wood cut him and he was not engaged = leagal. That was one of the worst officiated games (both ways) I have seen in a while. Kelsay, who I dont like, should have drawn 4+ holding calls on their rookie tackle Solder. On some very big downs too. We are talking tackled to the ground and rump ranger/bear hug style holdings that were missed.
  14. The NFL has used rule changes to eliminate defense.
  15. That is not true. The way they teach people to tackle these days is not with the top of the shoulder, but with the sternum/breast bone. Your facemask should be in the other guys chest or meeting or just to the side of the ball carrier's facemask (hitting facemask to facemask is still 'helmet to helmet'). In football its impossible to think a played can position himself perfectly while being blocked, the ball carrier juking, etc. Yet last season when Harrison got flagged (and later fined) for hitting Fitz right under his chin, he had a perfect form tackle. The replay showed that he barely hit Fitz helmet, if at all. Harrison burried his facemask in Fitz's chest, and he was still fined after the game. The NFL cannot tell players to form tackle with their heads up when A) doing so would violate another rule (helmet to helmet) and B) they fine you for performing a textbook form tackle. I saw a perfectly good hit over the weekend flagged for unnecessary roughness. it wasn’t to the head, low, or to a defenseless receiver. The reciever dropped the pass on the pla, because of the hit - how is that not 'necessary'? I have seen countless QB tackles being called for 'driving him into the ground' when it wasnt at all. The NFL has turned into a pussified league with no defense allowed. Just look at the passing stats from this season. 300 yards used to be an accomplishment, now if you dont have 300+ or 3+tds its a bad day for a QB. I wouldnt be so pissed if it was jsut the NFL they were ruining, but these rules inevitablly trickle down to college and HS football, which ruins the game. I hate Goodell.
  16. Id rather beat NE and lose to Cincy than the other way around. beating both is best though
  17. I heard Fitzpatrick can divide by zero....
  18. I woulda atribute that to play design/defensive confusion moreso than 'OMG ITS SPILLER AND WE NEED TO COVER HIM'
  19. hahaha me too. Hopefully its the first of many.
  20. I would like them to get Spiller touches as a WR. I always saw him as a percy Harvin type more than a true RB. I think he would be better in the slot than as a RB. I am also surprised that Smith hasnt gotten more action at WR. For 4 mil a year, I was expecting him in the slot more than as a wildcat QB. I dont see us adding anyone whose name you know at this point in the season.
  21. I know the replay you are talking about. What I assumed was that there had to be an Oakland defender playing deep and just out of the camera shot(maybe 5 yards deeper than the WRs). The Bills had two players in the same spot, one likely was supposed to go deep and clear out for the flag route, both guys ran flag routes allowing the deepest defender (who I am assuming was there, but just outside of the camera shot). You must have been at teh game to dsee that - us on TV couldnt. I guess I was right... good no throw by Smith
  22. That was a game ball type of play.
  23. If I was GM Kelsay would have been cut years ago. But, he played one of the better games of his career yesterday (I think he made 3 impact plays in the 1st quarter - a record for him). I thought last season might of been his best as a pro(after they stopped asking him to play OLB at least), and he looks to be improving off that. I'd still like to see more from Carrington, maybe as an UT in a 40 front? That would be a nice role for him.
  24. I watched about half of the SD/NE game, and SD rushed 3 for most of it. WTF? Its been years since the 'to beat Brady all you have to do is sack him' gameplan was discovered. Why do teams still refuse to get after him? Its assinine. The first two weeks I got teh feeling we were holding back on our pass rush to stop the run. I hope that is the case. I want to see WMD ripping titties Sunday.
  25. 16-9 final. Remeber betting fans, its the Bills.
