Good Morning Bills fans......... Just thought I would spend some time discussing the next 2 weeks. I will give you the situation, you can draw your own conclusion. #1 The 2010 draft was deep. Most GM's claim they added players AFTER the draft that will make the team. #2 Big name players will be waived as the NFL prepares for a possible strike or lockout. Every team will attempt to trade these players with little success. Happens every year, this year will be worse. #3 Buffalo has a new GM and coaching staff looking to rebuild a franchise with talented players. #4 Buffalo has more cash the 85% of the teams. The Bills will look for value over talent, this also happens every year. #5 Prepare yourself for a long list of waived players that do not fit Buffalo's Offense or Defense. Some players are overpriced for the market, some will have injury concerns. Some will be old and the Bills are not looking for the QUICK FIX. Here is the biggest problem. Fans judge weaknesses based on last years team, most fans give up on players and have no patience for improvement. The Bills have 23 returning players from IR, some of these players will return and fill a weakness. Buddy Nix will have a shopping list but HIS list is different then yours! Some fans will be frustrated because the Bills will pass on Big Name players. This also happens every year. Be prepared for a long list!!! DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS,but this should be an interesting next 2 weeks Strap on your helmets Bill fans, the next 2 weeks will surely kill some of you! I have one prediction for you today, John Wendling is sadly missed on special teams and pending a physical, could be back! -DIEHARD 1967

Why would Nix be interested in a quarterback waived by the Browns? How would this guy be better then Brian Brohm?
-
Well guys, I watched him closely in 2009 because I knew we had a problem at left tackle. Let me give you my take. Think of Bell as a bus driver in New York City traffic last year.He knows his job but the confidence level is low. The guy was a mess. He missed blocking assignments, off side penalties, etc, etc.... but he DID improved weekly. The guy reminds me of Jason Peters when he first started for the Bills. He has the talent but he is still RAW. The biggest concern is injuries. Is this a trend, a regular scratch from the lineup or can he play weekly and improve? One thing I can tell you for sure. Buffalo passed on a left tackle because Bell is still an option

Maybin sees his game improving

This quote surpised me..... "I still feel like I have a long way to go" Well, then WHY the hold out before the 2009 season?? -
Maybin sees his game improving Chris Brown Posted August 24, 2010 – 12:44 pm Tags: Aaron Maybin Bills OLB Aaron Maybin believes he has made strides with his game in the team’s training camp. “Without question,” he said. ”Obviously, like I’ve been saying this whole time, I still feel like I have a long way to go. There’s still a lot I feel I have to improve on and all that kind of stuff. But as far as where I started at and where I’m at now, I feel great. I really think I’ve shown a lot of improvement. “My coaches have said that they’ve been pleased with the improvement that I’ve shown and how much I’ve been able to learn. The key now is to keep building once we get back up to Buffalo.” Maybin is still working on his counter moves to his speed rush and is still trying to shore up his coverage skills and run stopping skills to become more of an every down player. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/08/24/maybin-sees-his-game-improving/

I have never seen one team blow out so many Tight Ends over 3 years. None can stay healthy -

Several coaches tried that with some success, you just can fill half the team. -

Has to be better! -
The Bills made an addition at a position that could no longer go unaddressed on Monday afternoon, as Buffalo signed tight end J.P. Foschi. The four-year veteran spent last season with the Cincinnati Bengals appearing in 15 games with 10 starts. Foschi (6’4” 265) set career highs in receptions last season with 27 for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Bengals. His receiving ability is considered by most to be his best asset, though he is also known as a capable blocker. He has spent time with the Oakland Raiders (2005-2006) and the Kansas City Chiefs (2008) before playing for Cincinnati last season. The 28-year old was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the New York Jets in 2004. Foschi has some familiarity with Buffalo’s coaching staff having played his college ball at Georgia Tech when Bills head coach Chan Gailey was the Yellow Jackets head coach. Foschi is practicing with the team this afternoon as he steps in immediately to help ease the burden on starting tight end Jonathan Stupar, as he was the only healthy tight end on the roster after Michael Matthews joined Shawn Nelson and Derek Schouman on the injured list. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3/Bills-sign-TE-Foschi/e8030707-e569-4ef3-9469-a10ad885ffb4

At what point do you cut your losses with Maybin?
DIE HARD 1967 replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the purpose of this thread flew right over the heads of some. We are looking for a time frame, most of you provided that, congrats! He deserves another full season, if he doesn't improve by then you bring him back next year in training camp. At the final 53 2011, if he has not dramatically improve by then, he is not worth keeping. This guys is not an undrafted rookie... he was taken in the top half of the first round. Why defend this guy after 2 FULL seasons??? He did after all HOLD OUT before he signed that new deal! This guy is a LINEBACKER, (you make tackles and rush the passer) you don't need 3 FULL seasons to perfect your skills! -
Well, first of all it can't be Edwards. Trent's helmets has dents, scuffs, opposing teams colors scratched on the side. Too many bars in the face mask to be a receiver or running back. Has to be a offensive, defensive linemen or linebacker. This helmet seems awful clean to be an active player??? Now let me see......hummmmmm I GIVE UP, YOU GUESS!

So you are saying we should keep him BECAUSE we won't spend the money elsewhere, either way YOU lose! -

I believe his chances are about 50/50. Wait and see, if he plays well some fan will say "I" wanted to waive him. Nooooo, I said he gets one more full year and a 2011 training camp ( if there is one). If he looks no better, then SEE YA -
Brohm is the unknown factor, we already know what we have with Edwards and Fitzpatrick. We are hoping for a REAL NFL QUARTERBACK
-
I think he is on the bubble, he may or may not make the team.

He clearly need to make an impact THIS SEASON. Something, anything......block a punt, sack a 2nd string QB.....something!
