I understand the fans better now
DIE HARD 1967 replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stopped listening and that is where I made my mistake -
You may be surprised, most ex players are not even close to being Millionaires and those were only examples, we have over 15,000 to choose from. Most ex Buffalo Bills have regular jobs and work 40 hours per week. Some player pensions are as low as $800 per month or less depending on years in the NFL.

#1 Can we agree that Ralph is cheap when it comes to hiring coaches? #2 Can we also agree that if Dick Jauron is fired, a bright young assistant will probably replace him? #3 Will you admit this doesn't work in Buffalo? This situation calls for some imagination or nothing will ever change in Buffalo until the team is sold. Tell me if you think this would be a better option and would Ralph buy into the change? I would build a coaching staff from Former Buffalo Bills only. #1 I want players that feel there is unfinished business in Buffalo and SHARE Buffalo's pain. #2 I will pay them a competitive NFL salary with a huge 1 million dollar bonus for winning the Superbowl to every coach. #3 I want former players that were leaders, and want a chance in Buffalo and are motivated to accomplish something that was not possible when they played here. This may provide closure for some ex-players that never won anything. This could be a total team effort by the coaching staff to work together to achieve something special. Please don't tell me no former players would be interested, you never know to you ask. I would hire a former Bill's player as head coach and interview everyone interested, then pick the BEST! I saw somewhere there is over 15,000 ex Buffalo Bills. This is an Example only Head Coach, Schottenheimer or Jim Hasslet. ( Must be an experiened HEAD COACH) Assistant Coach James Loften, and any number of qualified ex players Offensive Line Coach, Kent Hull, Joe D. Mike Montler Offensive coordinator, Frank Reich, Sam Wyche, don't think Jim would be interested. Defensive Coordinator, Chris Spielman, Jim Haslett, Defensive line coach, Phil Hanson, Mark Pike. Linebacker coach, Daryl Talley, Chris Spielman, Shane Conlan, Ray Bentley, You can fill in the rest of the coaching staff if you wish as this was only an example. Some of you guys may be laughing, and I will be laughing when the Bills hire some bright young assistant from Pittsburgh, then hire a bunch of bargain basement assistant coaches that have no vested interest in Buffalo I think Ralph would be happy with the competitive contracts and have no problem paying out the bonuses because the Bills would gain value. WE NEED TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAT WILL SATISFY RALPH AND THE FANS AND GET AWAY FROM BRIGHT YOUNG ASSISTANTS. You have 5 options #1 A bright young assistant as head coach, with bargain basement assistants. #2 Former Buffalo players with experience and desire ( interview everyone interested) #3 Hope Ralph will change and hire a real coaching staff #4 Stay with Dick Jauron #5 B word DIE HARD 1967

I don't blame the local media for reporting the facts ,but I prefer they take a realistic path to solving problems. -

I live in Florida and belong to the Bills backer's in Port Charlotte. We all get drunk and are just happy to be able to watch the games every week in Florida. We do not read the Buffalo papers or listen to the local media like the fans in Buffalo do. The media in Buffalo is a place for fans to vent, and before you know it..........the mood goes south and stays there. I don't blame the fans living in Buffalo, I knid of blame the meda for enhancing the doom and gloom -

I believe he reports for several cities -
Sometimes I wonder why fans can be so positive when we continue to lose games. I also wonder why some fans are so negative when the team is 6-6 with 4 games to go. We all watch the same game every week, yet we seem to disagree on the correct path to solve problems and move forward. How many of you listen to the local media in Buffalo? Ok, How many of you live in another state and never listen to the Buffalo media on the raidio? I think I now understand why we disagree.... I was listening to WGR this week and I never realized how much the local media can influence the mood of the fans in Buffalo. We have a lot of fans on this board that don't live in Buffalo anymore, so we judge the Buffalo Bills without the local media. For you guys that live outside of Buffalo, listen to this segment from Monday on WGR radio in Buffalo. (link below) You need to decide for yourself rather you agree or disagree with the doom and gloom that the fans in Buffalo listen too everyday. Buffalo fans are smart enough to draw their own conclusions, but I never realized how bad WGR has become and nearly everyone listens to Howard Simon, Bulldog, Sully, and respect their opinions and I kind of understand. Listen to this, and imagine listening to this every day. http://audio.wgr550.com/m/audio/21544365/j...tm?pageid=28472 If you can listen to the entire segment and remain positive....you are amazing. Some people here will claim the local media has NO INFLUENCE on them at all, but you have to wonder how many fans ARE INFLUENCED by the opinions of the local media. If I listened to WGR every day, and believed them, I would fire everybody , dump Edwards, shoot Ralph and move to Canada and wait for the team to move. DIE HARD 1967

Thank you, do you have anything to add that I missed? -
Thurman Thomas said former and current Buffalo players are very upset with the situation in Buffalo and nothing will change until Ralph dies. He also said Ralph will never hire a high priced, experienced coach and only a new ownership group can help this team! He criticized the current coaching staff in great length. Bulldog, Mike Schoop and Jerry Sullivan attempted to get him to expand his comments, but he stopped short of criticizing the current players. I tried to find a WGR link, and so far.....no luck! Perhaps you can confirm this for me. I have seen the comments on other boards but only the fans listening to WGR at home or on the internet can confirm this. I copied the comments from two other boards and the posters are pretty reliable. Thank you DIE HARD 1967

So who will Ralph hire next?
DIE HARD 1967 replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to tell you, I have been a fan for 40 years and I never remember the Bills making no offical announcment. Seems alittle strange to me! -

I agree with that! -
Some of you claim Dick Jauron is emotionless and should be fired so I found a few candiadate for you! We can get this guy cheap! ($20,000 per year should do it Ralph) The best of the rest ( I believe some of of them are still available) Mike Didka is funny) DIE HARD 1967
