Big game,1968- New York Jets at Buffalo. The players don't wear cleats till game time. You can break your neck. I hear the introduction for the Bills players and I quickly run for my locker and my cleats are gone!!!! Players had one pair in those days and we bought our own. Oh God, now what? I slip on my black dress shoes and run on the field right as they call my name. McDole is standing on the sideline laughing " I like your new shoes,I left your cleats in the toilet and I flushed that sucker twice!! I borrowed a pair from Abe Abramowski!

Its time to move on to Brian Brohm
DIE HARD 1967 replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Working out your number 2 QB's is a sign of open competition, hardly a coaching mistake. If you want to evaluate,do this while the games still mean something. I saw Fitzpatrick but Brohm is the key to Buffalo's first round selection in the 2011 draft -
I was only giving you my opinion, this may not be how it all unfolds. There is no way I pass on "MY" senior year just to sit around for 1 or 2 years. The NFL is different now and many players will just take the money and wait.
-
You are thinking like an adult, these are kids and teammates.
-
No player worries about injuries, NONE. You are talking about player agents. A broken leg is nothing, 3 months You guys assume these players are about money, most would play for free.
-
During the dreadful years you learn to play for yourself, YOUR JOB and you hope for small accomplishments, a 100 yard rushing day, a close game against a powerful team. As time passes you get angry and you bond with the other players and you fix the small problems and move on. Anger is the key........its when everything changes.

If there is NO NFL season next year, College football will be huge. BIG AUDIENCE, The national media will hype the year and the players. Your Player agent would weigh the risks and most likely ask you to play.

Sorry guys, I am in the airport, too many typos, I did go to college! There is no way I enter the draft with any possibility of a NFL player strike. I would be out of football for one full year, maybe 2.No money and too much uncertainty. I have great teammates at Stanford and I don't sit at home while my senior classmates play. Sorry, its the same deal for any Junior QB in this years draft. The Pros can wait!!

If there is a draft, Luck declares AND he is drafted, no team will risk injury to their #1 pick. League and union rules will prevent you from practicing with your drafting team as well....

I think you were reading way to far into A Point OF View thread. He did not say dump the guy or give up on Fitzpatrick he simply said its time to look at the next prospect. Buffalo has a big decision to make in April and the Bills should play everyone. Brohm is in the same class as Locker or Luck, has all the tools and you would think most of you would want another look in Buffalo,in a game that still means something. To say you don't want a look at Brohm is like saying I don't want Luck either. Both have the same tools. This not a benching of Ryan Fitzpatrick, he still has a shot at the starting role. This is looking at a player with high potenial. No different then playing Spiller from time to time over Freddy Jackson........

Great question, Most coaches will build a defense by adding a defensive leader, then draft players that work well with a properly motivated Captain. A leader is really a coach. As for Marshawn and the Virus, this started after the second arrest and the suspension. Lynch came back and was easily replaced by a backup, Fred Jackson. The practices were dreadful and the team turned on him because the effort died and Lynch became a locker room disaster. GOT TO GO, THE BILLS WILL RECOVER and you never know how those draft picks will be used, it may help Buffalo move up in the draft. -
When you hire a new GM and head coach you have to let them build the team and although it may not be popular some tough decisions are made. Marshawn Lynch was not in Buddy's plans and it seemed obvious when Spiller was drafted. The peek time to trade a player is after regular season injuries. So why is Marshawn on his way to Seattle. The Coaches made their choice and the Bills are not interested in new deals for undependable players. How will the players react? The players will regroup, back Fred Jackson and C.J.Spiller and move on. The most difficult trades involve team leadership and the Bills simply removed a virus.Lynch wanted out,he wants that big next deal and the Bills were costing him money. Marshawn Lynch begged for this trade and that effects the locker room! Was it a fair deal? I would say Buffalo did better then expected. Problem players generally repeat and the Seahawks took a large gamble and there is a chance they will lose. GO BILLS DIE HARD 1967

Just one more article to tuck away till December -
This is not a knock against the board, actually its the opposite.....wonderful place to hang out. I am going to tell you a little secret but this will change your attitude about your threads and comments! Are you ready? I played for the Buffalo Bills 1967-1972. I read your comments and I now understand the fans better. Just a little warning here! The players do frequent the message boards, and they do care what you write and yes I personally know 1 former player that posts here!!! Yep, it is true! If you investigate, you could easily figure it out! I did ! I PMed the guy and we now chat from time to time! So why leave the board now? No player or former player is interested reading garbage about why a player should be waived or why he is overpaid. These are proud, proud former star college football players. The career is short, the physical burden is high and the players are just people. We all have emotions and nobody enjoys bashing! The Buffalo fans are the best but by far the most frustrated. I will stop by from time to time and read some topics but my responding days are over. Oh, and my prediction for 2010? Some of you place to much importance in high skill players. The "team" will determine the final outcome. Buffalo is better then most of you think and a playoff birth is not impossible! I thought about placing my real name here, but most likely someone will say I sucked or I was just a good solid player. Either way I will not be happy because football was my LIFE and still is! So I ask the question and this is a good one..... IF YOU WERE A FORMER PLAYER,WOULD YOU PLACE YOUR REAL NAME ON THIS BOARD? If you think about it very carefully, the answer is no way! Some will call this thread a hoax but that should be expected from fans in today's world! Everything is a hoax and everybody is a fraud, not always true guys! Some people are honest and until proven otherwise, learn to trust people! Good luck on your threads, the season, and GO BILLS!!! -DIEHARD 1967

Questions and tips about the new board...
DIE HARD 1967 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't believe the Copyright Violations thread is closed and you can't ask questions. This is one of the biggest problems we see on the board every day. I am on 5 different boards and this is the only site that strictly enforces the policy. We need more information about the subject. Why is it Strictly forbidden? What has changed? We always post a link then copy and paste. We need to clarify the situation before it becomes a bigger problem on this board. People are going to be banned, and they don't understand the situation! THE TWO BILLS DRIVE POLICE ARE HOT ON MY TRAIL! -

Hopefully some team will run up the score and embarrass Billicheck -
Funny thing with S.I. When they are dead wrong the link disappears from there archives. You try to find this article in November when Buffalo is 6-4 I bet you it is gone!
