Buck, do you remember me? Guess my name on BBMB, the Dude knows

The Dude knows alot about football and the Bills and I am happy he is here. One word of advice, don't mess with the Dude. ( your going to find out the hard way) I am one of the few on this board that does not set unused QB to the dumpster till I see them play more and I have very little info on Gab Hamden. I should point out that Mat Cassels was said to be a joke by the Patriots fans before Brady went down,

I am not totally down on Jauron quite yet. Ralph and Dick had a day long meeting, and I would need more information on what was discussed -

I have to tell you, I see a young team with some very correctable problems. Fans go overboard some times -
I think the glaring weakness is the pass rush. Even when Schobel is healthy we are basically a one man pass rush team. Buffalo needs a force on defense that can disrupt any offense Brian Orakpo comes to mind, but I am open to the best player available.

This is how I look at it! The Bills were considered a nearly complete team before the season started. We should focus more on why they crashed, and fix that problem. Focus on depth, and what happens when veterans go down -

I made a mistake using the Patriots, look at the Steelers also. Nothing pisses off the fans more then using the Patriots as an example You are a smart fan -

The Patriots are at the point where they need to add younger players, Buffalo is not, you conveniently left that out (lol) I agree with the light years -

I think you are reading to far into what I posted. New England was developed to championship level based on smart veteran play and excellent coaching As far as the draft and free agency, I hope we get the best available, but the weaknesses on this team are slightly exaggerated. Lets use Derek Fine as an example, I know for fact the coaches and team love that guy and that's precisely the reason he got more and more playing time. So why draft a TE? Do we draft another TE and judge him by his rookie season? -
Nice job. He is the only player in Buffalo Bills history to escape his contract by using a small error in that deal. Line 3 was never signed

If you take a close look at the coaching staff, you will find a young inexperienced bunch there too. They need to improve along with the players -

Most fans believe the problems with the Bills is talent when in reality the problems are very complex. Give me one week in the locker room......something smells I edited into my thread, the coaches should pick the leaders...not the players -

You got to be kidding, The draft does not always add better players, you just hope they do! They are nothing more then unproven PROS I just gave your Patriots a big plug, you are lucky I even chat with you! -

I am in favor of coaching what we have and 1 or 2 free agents and the draft picks. Before the injuries, this was a pretty complete team, perhaps a little weak in the pass rush area -
Do you remember the line from "Hossiers" ? "Lets see what kind of hand I have been dealt here"-Gene Hackman In that movie, he took the talent he had and coached them to become Indiana State Champions. That movie is used in Coaching circles all over the country and I suggest you take the time to watch it! The Best coaches in the NFL have the ability to maximize available talent, and find a way to beat you. Does this remind you of Bill Parcells or Bill Billicheck......it should. Some of you guys are more into free agency and the draft in a continuous battle to upgrade. As you guys become older like me, you will eventually realize an above average talent veteran team with superior coaching, is better then a super talented young team with AVERAGE COACHING. In the end, the veteran team is still standing, and the young team goes home. ( Buffalo is still a young team) So what is my advice to Dick Jauron, LEARN TO COACH WHAT YOU HAVE, THE FUTURE MAJOR CONTINUOUS CHANGES WILL ONLY SET YOU BACK. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAXIMIZE THE PLAYERS ALREADY ON THE ROSTER. Put more faith into what you already have and develop. Put more pressure on the players to become better pros. Remove players that are not willing to commit to excellence. The Head coach should pick the leaders, not the players. Every Buffalo player should have an off season plan developed by the coaching staff designed to elevate players to become better PROS. A player unwilling to improve is not a player you want on your roster. If the players do not have a plan developed by the coaching staff, THEN THE COACHING STAFF IS THE PROBLEM. The best coaching staffs are on the phone with players on a weekly basis looking for progress and making additional suggestions. Anything less sends the wrong message to the team. The New England Patriots are nothing more then an above average veteran team, extremely well coached, that developed into a powerhouse in 2007. Nearly every player on that team was developed with the exception of Randy Moss and a few plug in's by Bill Bilicheck. Sorry for using the Patriots as an example, but you can also use The Pittsburgh Steelers I like the team we have...sorry, I had to learn the hard way. WE HAVE THE TALENT, NOW COACH IT! The people on this board with high school or above coaching experience know exactly what I am talking about here. DIE HARD 1967
