  1. I just popped in here, so apologies if anyone else has already posted this stat: Last Bills opening-game win on the road came in 1996.
  2. My thoughts exactly. The Bills were actually in the top half of the league last year in terms of sacks given up - 34 compared to 56 by the Bears. While Wood played well at C at the end of the season, you've got to think that some of the problems this preseason stem from the fact that, once again, someone's messing with the chemistry. While they weren't stellar last year, they were not really a cause for major concern, so why go and fiddle with it when you've got so much else to take care of? Hangartner may not be phenomenal, but with Wood at RG they made a relatively solid middle line.
  3. It's called the A-11 offense and it's catching on at the High School level. Maybe Chan's got a plan... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJtLZvlU8mo
  4. One big problem with that assessment: the Bills lack depth. If everyone stays healthy, then maybe top 15. But if people start going down - and the Bills have had a TON of people end up on IR over the past five or six seasons - they're going to plummet. Dareus and Williams can't play every down. Spencer Johnson's had a good camp, but we're thin at LB.
  5. damn you.......... Why do I keep falling for this stuff? :wallbash:
  6. Good point. The second rounders have been more successful than the first rounders (not that they're all fantastic, but still...).
  7. I could have sworn - seriously - that he had been cut last year. Was I just hallucinating? I was surprised when I saw his name come up a couple of times this summer because I thought he'd been cut.
  8. That's awesome. Bye bye Donte!
  9. Technically, that's illegal. Back in the '90s I remember this issue came up (my wife and I lived in an apartment at the time and were interested in getting satellite). I don't remember if it was a court decision or FCC rules or Congress, but it was made clear that it was illegal for property owners to prevent tenants from putting up a dish. Doesn't mean they don't continue to try, of course. But technically it is illegal (unless the law has changed again in the past dozen years or so).
  10. You have my sincerest condolences Scott. And thanks for all you do with the forums.
  11. Agreed. I'm really irritated we couldn't keep Gill (though I don't know who to be irritated at - Gill, UB, the gods, ...). I really hope we have more than a single great season.
  12. Thanks for the memories. Man, I miss those days.
  13. Please tell me you're being sarcastic. Winfield was excellent, Clements was good but not worth the money, Peters - seriously? Peters?, Jennings maybe, McGahee has been supplanted in Balto, and Schobel retired (great player, but weird - really weird dude).
  14. You bastard! :wallbash: :wallbash:
  15. Thanks for sharing the pics! Those are cool! I'm too young to have seen a game at War Memorial Stadium. That is something I really used to think was cool about Rich Stadium. Here little old Buffalo led the league in attendance for so many years, partly due to the fact that we had one of the biggest stadiums in the league for a very long time. Sadly, we live in the day and age when it's more about luxury boxes and branding rather than about filling the seats with loyal, die-hard fans (and it's not just football).
  16. Hmmm. Don't think it was you (but I could be wrong). I have since forgotten exactly what the plates said, but I'm pretty sure they were one word. It was like a gold or beige kind of colored full-size truck. I seem to recall passing it somewhere between Raymond and Manchvegas.
  17. So whose got the pickup with the personalized NH Bills plates? I passed you on 101 around 10 this morning on my way to work.
  18. I was at that game and remember the totally surreal feeling at halftime when it was all-but assured the Bills were in the Super Bowl. It was unreal. Man I miss those days.
  19. Heads have rolled more than once in the past decade. Don't see why it would make a huge difference this time. The organization needs an exorcist.
  20. The Brady cover is now my Facebook photo. We'll see what kind of reaction that gets from all my New England pals.
  21. That was awesome to see Starks run like that. As a UB grad, I'm very proud. Unfortunately, when I was a student, we weren't D-IA (or FBS) but we did have a pretty good season my senior year.
  22. Well, how about comparing him to the rest of the league or at least the rest of the playoff starters?
  23. What were Fitz' stats through the first half of the season? I seem to recall they were much better. That was when he had Roscoe and Stevie wasn't dropping everything. I think his stats partly took a hit due to the fact that his receiving corps kept getting "greener" (I mean, in the last two games, they had four healthy receivers, three of which were undrafted FAs). As for the others, I hate Brady but you gotta be impressed with just 4 INTs during the entire season. That's insane.
  24. Wait, Harbaugh did something that was classless? I was at the Stanford-Notre Dame game back in September. He's a jerk - or at least he acts like one. But that's apparently par for the course at Stanford: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_Band
  25. You know, despite the 4-11 record, I enjoyed this season a whole heck of a lot more than probably any season since '03. They were often fun to watch and they kept it close in a lot of games. Yeah, they had the requisite agonizing losses, but they felt different for some reason.
