It’s been years since I’ve posted here (though I read it every day). Couldn’t resist replying to this. I live in Kennebunk. There are a few other Bills fans here aside from my wife and I. I might consider something, though it would depend on some other factors.

The final score was 40-32 and you're blaming the QB?

EJ 4-8 with two drops and one scramble and bad throw
MaineMoxie replied to Jmsbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right, every QB makes bad throws. Maybe the best way to explain it is a comparison to a baseball pitcher. Every pitcher can have an off night. But sometimes pitchers lose their control for unknown reasons (e.g. Steve Blass, Rick Ankiel). Now imagine a pitcher who loses his control for some unknown reason maybe once a game, at some random point in the game, but maybe regains it later. This inexplicable loss of control appears to be completely random. That's EJ. With only 16 games plus single-elimination playoffs, an unpredictable element is a bad thing in football. -
EJ 4-8 with two drops and one scramble and bad throw

That's not the point, though. It doesn't matter who he was throwing to. The fact was that it was a really, really bad throw. He totally forgot his fundamentals on that play. -
EJ 4-8 with two drops and one scramble and bad throw
MaineMoxie replied to Jmsbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I'm a little late in replying to this, but c'est la vie. Anyway, it was just the one under throw, but it was the nature of that under throw. He looked good otherwise, but the nature of that under throw is not something you can coach out of him. It's a case of the body just reacting. Granted, it may not happen often, but when it does happen, it happens when an athlete (in this case EJ) is trying to make something happen and they get anxious. It's a really, really bad problem to have. It's like a star pitcher who, every so often, just starts tossing totally wild pitches. That's fine in baseball when you play 162 games, but in football? A friend of mine said EJ could benefit from a bit of Phil Jackson mindfulness training. -
Well, after seven seasons of Sunday Ticket (and 12 years with DirecTV in general), I finally cut the cord completely on DirecTV. Instead I signed up for NFL Game Pass (and traded in DTV for a Roku box and a digital antenna). I figured I'll probably get at least five games this season that I didn't need ST for (the primetime games, the two New England games, and the London game) which means I was really only paying for eleven games. Plus the only reason I held on to DTV was ST. I realize I will not get the games live (unless I log in through a VPN which may work), but I get them as soon as the last 4 PM game ends and I can skip the ads if I want or pause in the middle. The money saved means I can now get NHL Center Ice (which I can stream through my Roku box).

EJ 4-8 with two drops and one scramble and bad throw
MaineMoxie replied to Jmsbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My concern is the nature of EJ's mistakes. I've seen this kind of thing with other athletes at all levels – in an effort to make a play, the body just reacts and the brains, along with all the fundamentals, get temporarily left behind. I'm not sure there's much you can do about that. -
Dareus Suspended for Game 1 of 2015 Season

They refer to him as "Polish" not because he is of Polish decent (many of us are), but because he is a native of Poland. Incidentally, I had no idea that Janikowski was born in Poland.

Brady to the Bills ????? Possibility?
MaineMoxie replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except they did quite well with Matt Cassel at QB for nearly an entire season. -
Thank you for ruining my breakfast...

Jerry Sullivan......always negative
MaineMoxie replied to chef4131's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah. I remember not long after he came to Buffalo he was brought in by my high school to judge some kind of basketball-related contest (might have been a slam dunk contest?). The whole idea was that it was supposed to be fun (and it might have had some charity-related angle to it). So all of the judges, except Jerry, got into the spirit of the occasion and generally awarded 8s, 9s, and 10s to the competitors. Jerry gave 3s. -
Nice link. Thanks. Helluva play by Wood. He was pretty wrapped up when he stepped over to take out Briggs.

Seeing Palmer Throw the ball on bb.com....
MaineMoxie replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it's just practice, but he seemed to telegraph every single one of his passes. Anyway, I don't think they brought him in to compete with EJ. They brought him in for his mentoring/coaching abilities. -
