  1. You wouldn't know dense if you bumped your head on an anvil. Why only a two-day exchange program? Can't answer the question so you start with insults?
  2. They made a solid move. Just how solid is the point of the discussion. Why only two days for an exchange? Why not exchange all Hernandez jerseys that are officially licensed by the NFL? Why not make it a standing offer? Don't you think that the two-day window suggests an ulterior motive for the move? If not, why not? Your criticism of the Bills to defend New England misses the point completely. Why not discuss the Hernandez case on its own merits instead of setting up a straw man? For people with any perspective the OJ case is irrelevant with regards to a jersey exchange program.
  3. It's apples to oranges. Hernandez is an active player in an age where player jerseys are popular. OJ was a long-retired player who played when player jerseys were not anywhere near as common. Hernandez is arrested in the age of internet, 24-hour news cycles, smart devices, wi-fi. OJ played during the newspaper age. The internet wasn't as heavily trafficked as it is now. Did the Panthers conduct a jersey exchange when Rae Carruth shot the mother of his unborn child? Carruth was an active player and this happened 14 years ago. The answer is no, the Panthers did not. Is there an actual point that you're trying to make? Is this some lame-ass attempt to criticize the Bills 19 years after OJ committed murder and 36 years after he played for them? Do you care to state what you're getting at?
  4. Yeah he was wrongly accused and I've corrected others on this several times… people who almost seem to want to misrepresent what happened. But it seemed right to copy and paste the list as it appeared in the link.
  5. Why would a team do this for a player who hadn't played for them in 17 years?
  6. Either a red knit sweater vest or cardigan over a blue button down with my Bills lapel pin. Down below some blue dungarees… Dockers-type, pleated, etc. Brown socks, comfortable loafers and matching belt. Perhaps my Bills ascot (depending on the weather) and my Bills pennant on a stick. My buddy Biff will be dressed similarly (we went to State together) although accessorized differently. He prefers his cheerleaders cone to a pennant.
  7. The New England Patriots ProShop will offer a free jersey exchange of any #81 Hernandez jersey purchased at the Patriots ProShop or online at PatriotsProShop.com for a new Patriots jersey of comparable value. The free jersey exchange will be available exclusively at the Patriots ProShop the weekend of Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7. So two salient points. It's not made clear who gets to choose the jersey but one would assume it's the customer. It says "for a new Patriots jersey of comparable value" so probably the customer chooses the player's jersey. Secondly it's only a two-day window to exchange. It seems like the team should make the exchange a long-term policy. Not all their fans will be able to take advantage of the program within the two-day window. Why not make it indefinite? Is the point to make the team look good with PR or to actually eradicate as many Hernandez jerseys as possible?

  9. Was Norwood able to make sure his autograph stayed on the paper?
  10. Hmmm, there are two main categories. Salt-water beaches and freshwater beaches. I love both but being a WNYer I'm actually partial to freshwater. Of course part of that is nostalgia, sentimentality, etc. Although they don't have anywhere near the poster-worthy splendor of tropical or oceanic beaches, I love the timeless, sleepy quality of the beaches in Fort Erie from Sherkston, to Crystal/Bay, Thunder Bay, Windmill Bay, Bertie Bay. All of these beaches have good quality natural white sand. I also love the character of cottage towns which come alive in the summer and the sad, inevitable end of the season in September when we know another summer is past. The shortness of our summers makes the beach life in our area all the sweeter, IMO. I also love how on many area beaches in WNY and Southern Ontario that one can find a quiet stretch to be alone. When we lived in WNY, I would sometimes pick my wife up as she was getting out of work at M&T downtown with a beach bag with towels, swimsuit, etc and a shaker full of margaritas and we'd drive down to Bennett Beach for a late afternoon, weekday unwind, maybe a meal at Peppers or Connors. I've never been to Seabreeze in Irondequoit but on the map it looks very interesting with a thin spit of beach separating Lake Ontario from the Bay.
  11. This is an interesting point and I think it was spurred partly by Peter King's tweet. I think there's no question that Gronk and Hernandez have justified their draft positions, even if neither plays another down of football. But I also believe that Belichick has misgivings at this moment regarding Hernandez and if he could re-do the draft, might likely not draft him. As to the discussion of Hernandez' role in the Lloyd homicide, there's zero doubt in my mind that he was the ringleader and these guys his entourage. I don't think the prosecution will have any trouble proving that to be the case. We don't know who delivered the kill shots but I wonder what the law is if AH "ordered" one of his loser puppets to pull the trigger? Also I wouldn't be surprised if the two other losers pointed the finger at Hernandez in order to save their own skins. Finally I'd hate to see one or more of them plea down in order to seal a conviction on Hernandez. I'd prefer to see all three rot in prison for a very long time.
  12. Hand-eye coordination: Garrison Sanborn Temperament: Garrison Sanborn Effeminate-ness: Tom Brady, Mark Sanchez (tie)
  13. Sal Capaccio sitting in again for Murph… his Bills guest is rookie TE Chris Gragg.
  14. Agreed. Let's not post here anymore and just let this thread die. Discussion?
  15. That's a funny visual, Mario ambushing, chasing down, and tackling a deer. Maybe a sack dance celebration as the animals lays stunned on the ground…
  16. These are incredible stories and really speak to how our lives and our team are threads which have been woven into one and the same fabric. Probably most of us will go to our graves wearing some kind of Bills regalia. But we don't have to worry about that now. In the nearer future is the day that we'll be able to celebrate a Buffalo Bills Super Bowl Championship together. The longest-suffering, most-deserving fans in the NFL will finally have our day in the sun and what a glorious day it will be. We'll be celebrating with all of our Bills brothers and sisters and the souls of all Bills fans and loved ones who've departed will be with us in spirit.
  17. Not to denigrate your story at all but I couldn't recall Tony King. Apparently he played part of one season in the NFL… 7 games for the Bills in 1967. LOL Sounds like there's a possibility you never washed that cereal box… or you know, something like that. The Cleveland running back? I overdrafted him in fantasy football one year. He shoulda been grateful someone wanted a picture of him.
  18. It seems likely that Guardian Caps for helmets is the manufacturer of that foam shell he used to wear, what we all refer to as "The Great Gazoo helmet."
  19. I wonder how many times Rex and his wife have viewed this…
  20. So true. Everyone remembers Fargo but Blood Simple was every bit the trainwreck murder narrative. Things just spiraling out of control. Like the Alcoa commercials would say, "If you said the Coen brothers, you made the right call!"
