  1. This is why many people believe that a stadium will never be built in LA. Many others believe that it will be necessary for the LA stadium to have two NFL tenants.
  2. Does a team have to be for sale in order to move?
  3. This is the company which sponsors Kobayashi who is estranged from the Nathan's people. http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2012/07/competitive_eater_takeru_kobay_1.html Kobayashi is the latest investor to join the “dream team” Hofmann investors, which includes Syracuse University Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach and Auburn native Phil Romano, the creator of national chains such as Fuddruckers and Romano’s Macaroni Grill. The acquisition of the 133-year-old Hofmann company by the Zaccanelli Food Group was announced in May at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. Oneida Nation Enterprises is lead investor in the project, and its chief executive officer, Ray Halbritter, serves on the Hofmann board of directors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takeru_Kobayashi On June 28, 2010, Kobayashi announced he would not compete in the Nathan's Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Competition. The impasse was reportedly due to a Major League Eating's insistence that Kobayashi sign an exclusive contract with the organization that would prevent him from competing in contests not sanctioned by MLE.
  4. An amateur soccer game. Video deleted. Search for it if you want to but it is not something that needs to be linked here.
  5. I'm thinking mechanical failure. Those runways are well long enough to land those planes farther down from the front end of the runway and still land safely. In other words there's no reason to cut it close to the front end of the runway. Just my guess.
  6. Like Buddy would say, "Dagnabit, one in the hand is better than two in the bush…"
  7. I don't know if anyone can really evaluate Kyle Williams' play over the last two years. In 2011 he had the bone spurs that were so painful that he had to have the heels of his football shoes cut out just to play. The spurs necessitated the detachment and re-attachment of his achilles tendon. Last year he had the same problem with his other foot and had the same offseason surgery. So essentially you can take Kyle's performances in 2011 and 2012 and throw them out the window as far as what they might indicate for his future play. Arguably his play in 2010 would be the best predictor of his future play. That of course was the year that Williams was selected to the AP All-Pro team.
  8. I won't bore everyone with the details but I'm probably in the 98th percentile as far as health, fitness, and youthfulness for my age (I turned 52 in January). I work construction and I workout regularly and have no physical issues of significance (knock on wood). People are always surprised to find out how old I am. I have to say that I give my parents most of the credit for my health, fitness, and youthfulness. There are a lot of factors/variables when it comes to these things and I believe that genetics is probably the most impactful (though I appreciate your comments).
  9. And perfect weather and a daytime landing.
  10. For those that didn't click on the link, it's a worthwhile read. The series is based on Jaworski ranking the Top 32 starting QBs in the league starting with #32 and finishing with the player he believes is the best QB in the league. Jaworski spends substantial space on each quarterback, discussing their strengths and weaknesses. His rankings so far: 32) Matt Flynn 31) Jake Locker 30) Kevin Kolb 29) Chad Henne 28) Mark Sanchez 27) Christian Ponder 26) Brandon Weeden 25) Michael Vick 24) Ryan Tannehill 23) Carson Palmer 22) Sam Bradford 21) Josh Freeman 20) Alex Smith http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2013/07/2013-jaws-qb-countdown/#kolb
  11. Not to mention (never understood that expression btw) that when you spread the field with 5-6 skill players, you don't need every one of them to possess speed. It makes as much if not more sense to have a nice mix of a few different skill sets.
  12. I don't find those commercials to be particularly funny except that Rodgers is constantly disbelieved and patronized when he tells people he's an NFL quarterback.
  13. I actually checked out Wiki but missed his college shenanigans because they mysteriously included them in the section on his pro career, not his college career. Thanks though Nanker. I also wanted to apologize to Marauder and WEO for my extra portions of rudeness last night. I'm sincerely sorry if I was insulting and I appreciate you guys showing good restraint and not playing to my level. Kudos and cheers.
  14. I've become good at forming deformed opinions. PM me if you'd like any pointers on this.
  15. One of my favorite childhood books. Love the illustrations. The dogs in the boat playing checkers, etc. Now get off my lawn!
  16. What did Pacman do in college? I looked around but didn't find anything. Apparently Phillips is serving a lengthy sentence right now.
  17. Here's an interesting aspect of the "12 teams issue." The report was that 12 teams had blackballed Hernandez. The obvious next question is how many teams were asked and how many teams responded to the question? In other words, there's a possibility that it was more than 12 teams. Possibly many more than 12 teams? Am I wrong? You responded to my post about Mike Brown so I replied to you. I thought your point held some water. Well here's a question (that I don't expect anyone to take the time to research). Who is the highest-drafted player who was reported to have been involved in a violent incident while in college? Just a rhetorical thought.
  18. He also said they had Gronkowski as undraftable because of his medical history though. And they did draft tight end Jermaine Gresham in the first round so there's the possibility he was being truthful also. (continuation of post 1519 regarding Mike Brown's comments)
  19. Your theory has some credence for sure. I can't argue that he might have some ulterior motive.
