  1. This is right. I only skimmed the article but Barnwell does good work and it seems like the premise of the article was about what some solid statistical indicators foretell.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong but Da'Rick was suspended for failing 3 drug tests. Again, assaulting a police officer versus failed drug tests are not really in the same league as far as I'm concerned. And it concerns me that our society doesn't do well enough in drawing distinctions between violent lawbreakers and non-violent lawbreakers. That was the whole lesson with the Aaron Hernandez situation.
  3. The 2010 season was also the last season in which Kyle Williams was fully healthy. Besides the Pro Bowl that year he was AP All-Pro second team (along with Vince Wilfork) behind Ngata and Suh.
  4. And Bamiro's an unrestricted free agent and the Bills have zero cap restrictions as it pertains to street free agents. Actually come to think of it, this would have been a good year for the Bills to get into a bidding war for the "CFL star of the Year." I wonder how much more it would have taken the Bills to win the Cameron Wake sweepstakes. It still burns my ass that they lost out to the Dolphins.
  5. There's a middle ground between these two positions. That middle ground is not rushing Byrd back into action but rather making him a backup until he's proved demonstrably that he's in good shape and totally understands the defense. This gives the team the added benefit of evaluating the other safeties. On a side note, in many years of following the NFL, we've all seen how teams have occasionally taken a somewhat punitive approach to a player who has sat out in a dispute and is year to year. However for better or worse it sends a message to the other players that financial business will sometimes overlap with football decisions. Some teams will play this card. Others don't. Also, it depends on the player involved and his relationship with management and even the fans. IMO there are certainly a few scenarios out there where the Bills drag their feet in getting Byrd back on the field.
  6. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  7. Seemed like a really good person. A tough-love guy who was actually kind of a softy. A bit old school, principled, honest. Basically a guy who is poorly-suited to be an NFL head coach.
  8. He'll speak for himself but I think you missed the spirit of BBF's comments. I read them as a pure attempt at humor and I thought they were funny.
  9. No doubt. B Baroo and I were just discussing Gailey's comments.

  11. I agree that the lose/lose scenario is very possible. Byrd really has no leverage so he'll stay away as long as he can without missing a paycheck. Then he'll come in just before the season starts. This course of action alone could definitely end up hurting both he and the team. In this case, if he signed his franchise tender and got injured, he'd still get his money but it would further reduce his leverage for next year. I think the Bills on the other hand are prepared to move forward without Byrd anyways. As I said months ago, I expect the Bills to play hardball and simply squat on his rights indefinitely. Maybe a team comes forward with a good trade offer maybe not.
  12. Smartest? Most brilliant for sure. Anyways, Happy Birthday Nicola. I'm glad to see that the car that bears your name is starting to sell like crazy around here.
  13. If you're not going to prepare them as an appetizer, yes.
  14. The Sabres ended up losing their top 4 defenseman by the end of that series. I believe that McKee, Paetsch, Numinen, Tallinder, and Kalinin were all out by game 7. Had the Sabres been healthy, I believe they would have won the Stanley Cup that year. Despite the rash of injuries, they barely lost to Carolina 4 games to 3 and Carolina went on to defeat Edmonton in the finals, 4 games to 3.
  15. I don't understand the question. Isn't the first option what ended up happening anyways? Shouldn't the option be that the goal is disallowed?
  16. I think the story is that Nanker's a very good writer. Nor shall thou count to 2 unless thy then proceed to 3!
  17. How do you figure that? We went into Cleveland last year and beat them by 10 points. Both teams have new coaching staffs. What's your reasoning?
  18. Will he be wearing a Bills uni or a Santa Claus outfit?
  19. The DirecTV "Genie" Home Media Center HD DVR (HR-34) the successor to the HR-24 features the ability to record 5 shows at once, allows for Picture in Picture, and has 1 TB of hard drive space allowing for 800 hours of high-definition recording or 2000 hours of standard-definition recording. A second-generation Genie, the HR44, has been shown but there is no firm release date yet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirecTV#Receivers
