  1. LOL. He did that at the University of Cincinnati also. I guess my earlier misunderstood answer about mental illness still applies to Lou. He was an interesting and enigmatic guy.
  2. So the bag doesn't come with all that cool stuff? Damn. Still going to the home opener though!
  3. He was a good player but there are several others that I'd vote for before Schobel for sure. One of them was our ex-neighbor, Butch Byrd.
  4. I think you were supposed to say, "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" Just sayin'
  5. I would have thought so but he posted "here is the Bills" not "this is similar to the Bills." Being a stickler for precise language, I guess I took the poster too literally?
  6. Russ… Ralph… someone's cheap. That sounds like a question for the analytics department.
  7. Not to hijack the thread but I believe that suicide is a more complicated issue than just a matter of quitting. There may be a component of mental illness involved.
  8. In that case it's probably a bad idea to kill him on that night. When's the next home game after that?
  9. I'm also a prisoner to the idea that cornerbacks are much more important than safeties.
  10. Sanders is also a real contender. It seems as with Reed and Polamalu that the defense was much better when Sanders played than when he didn't. On the other hand, I would say the most iconic player on those Colts' defenses was definitely Dwight Freeney. I guess I'm bound by the conventional thinking that defenses are defined by the big guys closest to the LOS. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I feel.
  11. Almost unbelievably, Gretchen Geitter who is the Bills VP of Community Relations is not on LinkedIn. I tried contacting her. Pretty much par for the course. I'll link the story to the Bills FB page. Maybe someone over there is awake. Sent a message to whoever administers the Bills FB page. (administrates?)
  12. I understand the need for the media to "report" on things. To me it's no different than the police releasing pictures of the long-talked about SUV. It doesn't change any of the known facts. In that sense it's totally irrelevant. BTW, I only incidentally watch news stories on TV. Very occasionally the video is worth watching. But most of the time watching TV news is a waste of time for too many reasons to list.
  13. The irony. You of all people should have known the truth about this arcane rule. Triple Threat indeed!
  14. There are none. I disagree with Reed and Polamalu being mentioned as correct answers. Both of those players have had the great benefit of having many extremely talented players playing in front of them as well as very good defensive coordinators coaching them. Are they great safeties? Yes. Does their play define the overall performance of the unit? I don't think so. Yes. Both sides are bound by the rules and are backed into a corner. The only question now is when does Byrd report?
  15. Well I still haven't seen the pictures, nor do I care to. But I knew of their existence about a month ago. What I'm saying is that seeing pictures that were already confirmed to exist is not really news.
  16. I would definitely call them. I would hope that someone in the office has some discretionary power to sweeten the pot a bit… although the Bills won't ever be mistaken for DirecTV! Thanks for posting that. It put a smile on my face.
  17. Thanks for posting this and this item is an example of how earlier reports sometimes get buried. This was actually reported very early on. Now it's being treated as new news.
  18. So they were unnecessarily rough on Buffalo? Maybe the player will accept the trade and there will be future episodes devoted to how much he loves Buffalo.
  19. On the counter argument, Parcells won 2 Super Bowls with two above average QBs (Simms and Hostetler). Joe Gibbs won 3 Super Bowls with 3 above average QBs (Theisman, Williams, Rypien). I don't consider Belichick to be a better coach than Parcells or Gibbs. Others may disagree.
  20. Arguably the only way it makes any economic sense to build a stadium in downtown LA is if there are two tenants.
  21. Depends. What kind of turd? Also, does the douche include the bag and the nozzle?
  22. The buzz in league circles is that Brown wasn’t aware of the amount of cash hinging on his participation in offseason workouts. On one hand, he signed the contract — and arguably he should have read it. On the other hand, his agent (who has a clear incentive to see Brown maximize his compensation) may have failed to explain it to Brown. Either way, Brown’s agent probably should read his malpractice insurance policy. http://profootballta...season-program/
  23. An added bonus: A nearly 6 minute interview with TSW whipping boy, Brad Smith.
