Loved Terrence. His body is shot. If he were here listening to this debate, he would have ruptured an eardrum by now.

He's recently taken to using lavender as his avatar. He might be experiencing identity/gender confusion so take it easy on the guy. Probably. That guy must have massive cranial development. :w00t: -

And your massive intellect prevails over Bowery! Another challenger deposed. Who amongst us can even dream to challenge your powers of reason? Who would even dare? :D -

I think everyone knows this. Does anything in the conversation indicate otherwise? -

Next time you're in Buffalo, get a fish fry at Casey's on Amherst. You'll be glad you did. -
I dunno if Bills fans were ever much more knowledgeable than NFL fans in other cities. I'm flabbergasted that no one has mentioned this in 9 pages but there was always a few people who thought that Frank Reich should have started ahead of Jim Kelly. If Tuel played to 100% of his potential and EJ underachieved by a wide margin, there's a chance that Tuel would become the better QB. But EJ has more talent in one of his clipped and discarded fingernails than Tuel does in his whole body. That's not meant as a knock on Tuel but rather a glowing endorsement of EJ. I like Tuel and he looks good to me but EJ has a chance to become an elite QB. That scouting report seems a bit harsh to me. That said, EJ's early completion to TJ Graham and his TD pass to Dickerson were the kind of passes that we haven't seen thrown by a Bills QB in decades. With the flick of his wrist, EJ throws a better ball than Fitz did with his full windup. By all means give Tuel more first team reps (Kolb's) but the EJ express is on schedule and there's no reason to slow it down.

https://foursquare.com/v/caseys-tavern/4b528bb8f964a520cc8127e3 Betcha that Casey's on Amherst predates both. I lived in Black Rock in 1980 and Casey's was an old neighborhood establishment even at that time. BTW, they are one of the few places who has a legitimate claim to best Fish Fry in Buffalo. Definitely gonna dine there when we visit for the opener. -

Casey's is on Amherst Street. Unless there's another Casey's. -
Thanks Gugny. However, Wing Man said he moved the team. He didn't move the team, his father did. Also I was working in the sports media at the time and no one knew who Jim Irsay was, other than by his last name.

Yeah I didn't see any gesturing by Rogers on that play. Like you say he was looking towards the sidelines. The Bills were rotating receivers. My guess is that he was looking to see if he was staying in for the next play or not.

Before his epic pick six, Jumal Rolle had a great pass breakup. Also Aaron Williams negated what would have been a 3rd and goal conversion by blowing up Indy RB Donald Brown just as the pass arrived. There were a lot of great defensive plays from the Bills side. Alonso's breakup of the end zone pass to Fleener. Manny Lawson had several strong plays.

There were a handful of vocal posters here banging the drum for EJ. Most of the others were spending their time banging the drum for Geno Smith, Barkley, and Nassib. I know you're probably referring to the media though and it's true. Several NFL people post-draft were still wondering why EJ's stock wasn't higher. I think it was Gruden who rhetorically asked, "Why aren't you the number one pick in the draft?" I think Gruden was incredulous about EJ's generally low position on the QB prospect list. I'd heard his name before but first saw him play in the Senior Bowl. He was very impressive to say the least. The more I read and watched, the more it became obvious that he was the best QB in the draft. Picking EJ was a no-brainer. Trading down was risky. Pulling off the trade down and getting EJ was a master stroke. On top of the full-court press to hire Marrone and the successful recruitment of Pettine, it was clear that the Bills were not being run in the same fashion. But whatever. "Preseason games are meaningless." Forcing the QBs to call their own plays under duress? Can you see Turk Schonert or Curtis Modkins suggesting this to their head coaches? Can't you just see the blank expressions on the faces of Jauron and Gailey?

And so far, no penalties for improper use of the crown of the helmet: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/13/no-violations-of-new-helmet-rule-so-far/ -
Apparently Indy Tight End Coby Fleener is going through the NFL's concussion protocol: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/13/colts-coby-fleener-sidelined-with-concussion/ "Colts tight end Coby Fleener is sidelined after suffering a concussion." No word on when he suffered the concussion but we all know he was lit up by Bills CB Ron Brooks on Sunday. Like I said in another thread, that was no cheap turnover forced by the Bills D… not cheap like the turnover Indy got.

The CNN/SI piece is written by Doug Farrar whose work I associate with Yahoo's "Shutdown Corner" column. Not sure if he's changed jobs but he's a pretty knowledgeable writer. Enjoy. http://nfl.si.com/20...ction=si_latest On Monday, Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage said on ESPN that when he put together the rosters for the all-star event, he received alerts from several schools that Manuel was not one of the top six senior quarterbacks in the country, and he should be passed over. Also Jarrett Bell of USA Today wrote a piece on EJ for Monday's edition. He confirms the reports that EJ's radio helmet went dead on the two-minute drill: http://www.usatoday....manuel/2641577/ Then came an interesting twist on the learning curve for the Buffalo Bills rookie. The radio receiver in his helmet went dead. Again. It happened twice to Manuel during his one half of work, with the second instance occurring while he was in the midst of directing a confidence-building, makeup job of a 92-yard touchdown drive just before halftime of a 44-20 victory against the Indianapolis Colts. "He didn't mess around," Bills coach Doug Marrone told USA TODAY Sports. "He just went on and called the play."

How many WRs can a team carry?
San Jose Bills Fan replied to quinnearlysghost88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The other argument for keeping 7 wideouts besides what you mentioned is that it's possible that the Bills run 10-20 more offensive plays per game than what is considered average. That adds up to a lot more running of patterns. Actually Goodwin's returns. Summers was instrumental on both big returns and in fact, both plays were very similar. -
