  1. Excellent post and you make a point I've not seen anywhere yet (bolded). This regime seems to have made a lot of really good decisions. Both our head coach and our OC have very strong offensive pedigrees so obviously both felt that Kevin Kolb was someone they could have some success with. As such, he shouldn't be so lightly dismissed by so many.
  2. Roger that, Roger. Seriously though, thanks a ton, Astro!
  3. Fair enough but for the first 4-5 years of his career he was the second best cornerback on the team meaning that other teams were throwing at him and away from Winfield and Clements. Without knowing how many times McGee was targeted, passes defensed is not a compelling argument for me. I have stated in this thread and numerous times over the years that I loved McGee. I just disagree that he was a better cover corner than Winfield.
  4. Paul Westerberg signed with the Bills? I'm surprised Wawrow didn't break this story.
  5. First of all, pretty good writing. The "blase defenses of Wanny," "the apparent daunting schedule," "the Pats are treading water." This is not Pulitzer-level stuff but your characterizations are very accurate and succinct. Kudos. As for the content, there is nothing implausible about your post except for those readers who might believe that you are saying all of these things are going to happen. Even if some of them prove true, the Bills will improve over last year's 6 wins, IMO. And point for point, everything you write is plausible and at worst, debatable. As I've said before, I take my Kool-Aid dry, right out of the flavoring packet so I might not be the best person to second your motions but I agree with everything you've written and believe that 6-7 of these things could come true.
  6. Another thing at work here is that Marrone seems like the type to not want to simply hand anyone the starting job. At the very least there is going to be the appearance that the winner earned the job.
  7. Yes. As I already pointed out, nothing that happens in the preseason has any meaning. They are a fashionable pick to backslide. I know right? Strangely this seems like an AP story in a Utah paper. Luckily for Pagano there's a logical explanation. BTW, don't you love the way Marrone looks down on Pagano with an expression of skepticism? So true and as atlbillsfan pointed out, it's also true that there was really nothing they could do about the situation.
  8. Robey could be the nickel back (in other words, a virtual starter). He also could be our number one punt returner. He's one of several on your list I disagree with. Good list. Good list.
  9. McGee a better cover man than Winfield? I find that laughable. Other than not getting many interceptions as a Bill, Winfield was a better cover man than McGee. Cornerbacks don't go to the Pro Bowl (or get voted All Pro) because of their tackling ability. Winfield excelled in coverage.
  10. Caussin was released? I wonder what the effect will be?
  11. If you guys watched the videos on BB.com, you'd know that Branch is a lock to make the team… at least according to the head coach.
  12. That's a very temporary situation. The Niners will shortly be blowing the Bills out of the water regarding revenues. The Niners have already sold over $400 million in personal seat licenses to the new stadium before even selling season tickets. Also for the next 11 years, they'll receive an average of $20 million per year for the naming rights. The only reason it's close now is because the Niners tickets are still relatively cheap.
  13. You're not supposed to "get it." And here I thought you were a perfectly respectable girl. Angus… Angus.
  14. Couldn't disagree with you guys more. Some are overpaid. Some are underpaid. Some are fairly paid.
  15. Then they need to get a backup who can do both. Wait… Thanks. I don't remember Koenen doing both. Good call.
  16. Yes he did, against us. But I was talking about a player who's job was to do both the placekicking and punting as a matter of routine.
  17. A.J. Jenkins, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Robert Meachem, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers kicker Ryan Williams, Arizona Cardinals running back J'Marcus Webb, Chicago Bears offensive tackle Nnamdi Asomugha, San Francisco 49ers cornerback
  18. Apparently no one told the Colts that the preseason is meaningless. bonus: photo of Marrone and Pagano shaking hands http://www.heraldextra.com/sports/football/colts-trying-to-get-things-right-owner-s-critique/article_d36b3f88-e574-5580-9fee-f4069fe10671.html
  19. This is true. James Lofton still runs senior track and he's nationally ranked. He's an elite athlete for his age. However when he ran the obstacle course against Renaldo Nehemiah in The Superstars competition, he got his doors blown off. It's an entirely different scale, Olympic track athlete vs Fast Football Player.
  20. Michael Vick didn't work hard. He admitted it when he returned to the league… that he took it all for granted. Kyle Williams in limited snaps Sunday looked outstanding.
  21. Searcy is a physical player, no doubt. I haven't seen where he shows much in the way of ball skills or range yet but he's only really starting out.
  22. Ah some much-needed substance. On one hand, I don't see teams having an interest in Terrence. On the other hand, cornerback is such a critical position and one in which many teams are deficient so I guess you never know. I'm a bit surprised he wants to continue his career.
  23. Who was that? The last player I remember who dabbled in both was Russell Erxleben.
