  1. I really wonder about Barkevious Maybin. I mean Mingo. 6'4" and 240 and he's rail thin. Dion Jordan is really skinny too. Both of those guys are very gifted but when you see them on an NFL field, you wonder how long they'll last.
  2. The guy that you slighted is a friend of mine so yes, I follow him. He's a good poster and he links us with lots of good stuff out of wanting to contribute to the community. You and he disagreed on an opinion and your response was an insult towards him. So to clarify, is that a threat?
  3. We all get wiser with age but we never reach the point of being all-knowing.
  4. In a best-case scenario I can see us winning some games with Kolb at QB but I can't see us beating New England. The Bills will need an inspired performance on offense and defense (and teams) to win the opener. I'm having a hard time envisioning an inspired offensive performance led by Kolb. Obviously if it comes down to that, I hope I'm wrong. Great, great post. Very (too?) fair and perfect context. I'll say that there are a few extremely knowledgeable football fans on this board who have a very strong conviction that Kolb either sucks or is irreparably damaged. I'll admit that I'm very swayed by their opinions.
  5. What I'm saying is that barring a miraculous performance by Jeff Tuel (and we certainly didn't see it last night) I don't believe the Bills coaching staff is giving any consideration to Tuel starting the season opener. To your point, the likelihood of Kolb getting injured during the season opener is probably higher than most people would believe. I'm still holding out hope that EJ will get the start. Despite your reservations about rookie QBs I believe that even a slightly rusty EJ would give the Bills the best chance to win.
  6. Some are more unique than others. Dwight Freeney. Harold Carmichael. I could go on.
  7. We have a Yahtzee. Hmmm. I was sure that the sack affected him. Others here posted the same. Maybe it's like an experienced horseman detecting a slight alteration to the stride? Nothing against you but you lost me at Warren Sapp. If there was a negative scale for credibility he would he at the top. Or the bottom. You know what I mean.
  8. Great point The Bills decision making has to take into account both the short term as well as the long term. More playing time for Kolb would be most beneficial for the short term and more playing time for Tuel would be best for the long term. I say this because I believe that there is zero chance that Tuel is under consideration to start the season opener, barring some miracle play on his part.
  9. Also Mile High (Sports Authority Field) in Denver is practically brand new.
  10. Also, Kolb's body language was poor and he wasn't on the same wavelength as his teammates. I'm hoping that while Kolb improves incrementally (at this point I think his ceiling is pretty low) that EJ heals quickly and is held out of the last preseason game only as a precaution but that he's able to practice. edit: And of course that EJ is able to start against the Cheatriots***.
  11. I agree with you and Rico. I've been a staunch supporter of Brad Smith but as the preseason has played out (as others have expressed) I've been very surprised and impressed with all of the young receivers. I had expected that injury and performance would obviously disqualify some of them but that hasn't happened. I hate to lose Da'Rick but at this point I would go with Kauffman and Hogan over Da'Rick and Brad Smith. Two weeks to go and special teams will play a big part so even in the coaching staff's minds, it's probably still a toss-up among several players. Back to the subject, Easley seems pretty secure to me right now. I hate to jinx us but a best-case scenario would involve an injury to one of them so we could stash him on IR.
  12. FWIW, he had his best drive of the game in the two-minute drill when he took the Bills downfield to a field goal. Hopefully he can build on that. Also honest and not sarcastic to you. Did you see the game?
  13. Not bad. There aren't a lot of players who fit Hughes' body type and skill set. He's fairly short and thick for a pass rusher. Also his first step get-off isn't quite elite although it's good. Dwight Freeney and Elvis Dumervil are true one-of-a-kind players but there aren't too many players who are similar to Hughes. It seems like he'll be a nice contrast in style and change-up to Mario. Maybe 6-7 sacks?
  14. To the bolded above, it certainly read like that was your opinion when you posted the bolded below. It read like you were making the case for Rogers over Easley based on Rogers having the higher ceiling. Maybe that's not what you meant but it certainly reads that way to me.
  15. I think it happened on that sack that Doc and I were talking about. He saw the pressure and tried the reverse spin away from it. Then he got tackled low. The only other play it could have been was when he scrambled to his right. This is a major bummer.
  16. I checked the last 6 meetings between the Bills and the Cheatriots***. The average score of these games has been Cheatriots*** 40.2, Bills 24.5 New England has not scored fewer than 31 points in the last 6 games (that was the game we won). It will take significant improvement on offense and defense and at least a draw on special teams for us to beat them. On the other hand, I'm expecting the Bills to improve on offense and defense.
  17. That's not a bad suggestion but I think you want something that ties into the team or the city name a bit more.
  18. It is a bit of a concern but I love the way Cordy Glenn has looked so far in games. Also, a high level of quarterback play can negate a huge amount of poor O-line play. Both Green Bay and Pittsburgh won Super Bowls with average to below average O-lines so if EJ can play at a high level, the O-line will be much less of an issue.
  19. Unless I missed it, no one's yet mentioned Duane Thomas trying to go into the stands to confront hecklers. After 38 posts I'm mildly surprised by this. Did I miss it? I did miss it!
  20. The Farmer's post reminded me that I hadn't mentioned Manny Lawson. While I knew he was considered a bona fide NFLer, I'm comforted to report that he doesn't look like a player in decline. Lawson has been very solid in both games. The other free agent defender that the Bills signed, Alan Branch, looked very solid yesterday as well.
  21. I forgot who here had the wisdom to post this last week but at least I remembered that this nice resource is available. Here from Buffalo Rumblings are the snap counts from last night's game. Only one receiver who was active had fewer snaps than Da'Rick. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/8/17/4630500/bills-20-vikings-16-offense-defense-special-teams-snap-counts
  22. !@#$ !!! Are there any intellectual property lawyers here who'd like to represent me in my case against UpperDeck? If so please pm me.
