  1. He did win a Super Bowl throwing to the likes of Deion Branch (who never did anything outside New England), David Givens, and David Patten so he has a history of making chicken salad out of chicken scratch for sure.
  2. Brady's arsenal is even more depleted than it was against us. Besides Ridley they have virtually zero proven weapons. Brady is awesome but at some point it has to catch up with them.
  3. Over 30 years is deserving. I'd like to see the data on how many long-time season ticket holders there are and see a breakdown based on years as a customer.
  4. Strange replay sequence. You saw Holmes empty-handed but was there an angle which showed the ball on the ground? I'm cooking so I'm not watching that closely. Geez Wilfork is a wrecking ball.
  5. Didn't get a good look but I thought the catch was made in the end zone and then it turned into simultaneous possession. I'm thinking TD but can't really say for sure.
  6. Three man rush on the Jets TD. It looks generally like the Cheatriots*** are not interested in pressuring Geno too much. Even on the play where he was roughed, he's had plenty of time to throw.
  7. You live in Queens and you had your car decked out in Bills stuff? Very high grades to you, Sir.
  8. I remember my horror when after we drafted Mike Williams instead of Bryant McKinnie I found out that McKinnie had size 17 feet and Williams was a size 11.
  9. Or when virtually every post by the poster is inaccurate? Of course he lives about 290 miles from Buffalo which makes him more disconsolate over losses than Bills fans who either live farther away or closer than he does. It's like I've mentioned before. He is a natural athlete and is smooth in everything he does. Besides this, his height, length, large hands, and natural talent make his short game deadly. It's like James Worthy making an entry pass to Kareem. He can virtually make any throw of less than 20 yards effortlessly. I was unhappy and surprised by his lack of long accuracy though. EJ needs to work on that. I wouldn't mind seeing him extending plays to throw but I really prefer that he not become a running quarterback. As for the game itself I thought the Bills generally played really well. As I've said ad infinitum, over the last 10 years the average margin in an NFL game is less than 6 points. As Jim Leon-Hard said, "we played well enough to win and bad enough to lose." The Bills did many things well and many of those things will be dismissed or discounted simply because they lost. Unlike recent close losses to good teams and other moral victories, at least this loss was suffered by the 3rd youngest team in the NFL. As I was saying at the tailgate after the loss, I'm sick of moral victories but there were many encouraging signs in this game.
  10. This is correct. Whether he cares to admit it or not, his name is pronounced Leon-hard.
  11. Yeah I think he was pretty cerebral but he had a real rag arm. As for Carolina, their front 7 is very good and credit for that probably goes equally between their D-line and their excellent linebackers. Of course Rivera's a good D coach. Although Captain Munnerlyn is a personal favorite of mine (gotta love anyone named Captain), if he and Josh Thomas are your starting CBs, that's less than ideal. It'll be interesting to see if the Bills can exploit Carolina's less-than-stellar secondary. On the other side, it was kind of bizarre how former Panther GM Marty Hurney drafted Cam but never gave him any new, shiny receiving weapons. Then to add to the bizarreness, after Gettleman was hired the team invested one measly 6th rounder on an offensive skill position player. This has become a pretty difficult environment for Cam Newton to find success in: another new system, a bad O-line and virtually no game-changing weapons. The Bills D held Tom Brady to a low passer rating and the Patriots to less than 5 yards per offensive play. While Cam presents a very different set of problems I expect the Bills to stymie Carolina's attack and win the game.
  12. Disagree about him being a good writer. Sully literally couldn't write his way out of a paper bag, even if he were given an X-acto knife instead of a pen. JMO. As far as I know he's the only sports opinion writer in Buffalo.
  13. Hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised. That was as bad a safety play as I've ever seen. How is it that the Cheatriots*** drafted that guy 34th overall?
  14. I guess. In this game I'm ambivalent. In the other game I'm apathetic. Not sure how a Houston/San Diego matchup merits MNF.
  15. This is weird. In most games I can figure out who I want to win. In this game, I want both teams to lose.
  16. Pass protection doesn't seem to be a strong suit of either of these offenses. Vick continues to put himself in harm's way.
  17. Another good point. I took him in one of my two fantasy leagues expecting that his performance would improve over the course of the season. I got him in the 5th round as my starter.
  18. Sure, why not? Had a "Project Runway" interlude due to wifey and dinner.
  19. I'll reserve my opinion until we can make a fair judgement.
  20. Yep. It's a shame the game has become so "pussified." And that Tony Romo guy is a complete sissy.
  21. Body of work? More like a fingernail right at the moment.
  22. Hmmmm. That link is now dead but from the excerpted part it doesn't sound like Reich was accepting any responsibility.
