  1. Bucky never talked about the end of the game. He was trying to construct an argument that EJ needed to implore the Bills fans to be louder at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Bills were on offense when the 3rd quarter ended. I'm not defending idiot fans who leave early when they should be contributing to crowd noise but you're wrong about Bucky.
  2. Thanks for posting this. I wonder how many of the still-living members will be in attendance? All but OJ? Will Ralph be there and was he in attendance last week for the opener? When will Butch Byrd be put up on the wall?
  3. One game at a time, Timbo. But I agree with most everything you wrote. More to the point, the Jets have a decent D and a good O-line. They even have some nice offensive skill position players. Almost every team in the NFL has the basis for being called a "talented roster." However for the most part, good teams have good QBs and bad teams have bad QBs.
  4. It's at about 5:54 minutes in: http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/EJ_Manuel_Wednesday_Press_Conference/04579631-2683-4ec9-9da3-47ededb5c8c6 Basically EJ acts like a mature, polite grownup in dealing with Bucky's silly, juvenile baiting. EJ's comments (the ones when he laughs) disguise his incredulity of a stupid opinion.
  5. BTW, interior D-line is a very difficult position to evaluate for pro scouts and a difficult position for young players to succeed in. For every Haloti Ngata or Ndamokong Suh, there are many guys like Broderick Bunkley, Sedric Ellis, Amobi Okoye, Glen Dorsey, highly-drafted guys who become average players in the NFL. To the discussion about 'Bama players underwhelming in the pros, here's an interesting blurb from PFT which did a quick and informal audit of which major college programs have produced the most NFLers: http://profootballta...ne-nfl-rosters/ Via the NFL, Southern Cal led all Week One rosters with 40 former players. Next was LSU with 39, then Miami with 38. Georgia had 36, and Florida State and Texas were knotted at 31. Alabama, which has become the ultimate NFL Minor League team in recent years, had only 30 NFL players as of Week One. That’s the same number as Cal and Tennessee. Oregon and Ohio State had 27, and Florida had 26.
  6. So did their opponent. We're talking about the inequity in prep time between teams who face each other. Bad? I'd say they have a bad offense and a good defense. Most importantly they have a QB situation which will make winning difficult but their D will be a good test for the Bills. The losses of Revis and Landry were substantial. However the loss of 2 starting LBs is inconsequential at best. When the Jets let them walk there was zero interest in Bart Scott and Bryan Thomas and in fact, neither one is in the NFL right now.
  7. Personally the jury is still out on Cam Newton. As a quarterback taken first overall he'd better become a perennial Pro Bowler to justify his draft position. Yeah I've posted this numerous times so I'm glad you brought it up. He turned 23 years old in March and it's not like every human being has the same rate of development. He just came off an excellent game to start his 3rd NFL season. I'll judge Marcell after this year. People tend to forget that Bruce had 6.5 sacks in 13 starts as a rookie. He also had 4 fumble recoveries and his talent was awesome. I know he's not 100% healthy but if I'm gonna criticize anyone on the D-line, I'll criticize Mario. A much bigger factor than the D-line or LBs in the Bills suckitude last year was Wanny.
  8. Back in 2002, the property taxes on our $89,000 house in the Elmwood Village were higher than for our $550,000 house in San Jose. He was also a good cornerback but like many players, his body couldn't hold up to the constant abuse which is the NFL.
  9. The wild card is to what degree if at all, the Bills improve over the course of the season.
  10. I would take the soup myself. I'm really starting to question your football acumen, not to mention your character. What kind of dressing?
  11. Rex is a good football coach but you can't get very far without good quarterbacking.
  12. LOL. I was referencing the fake injuries that Belicheat had the Giants perform to slow down the Bills no-huddle offense in Super Bowl XXV (as I'm sure you know).
  13. Why don't you weigh-in on this issue? It's times like this when a guy has to take a side.
  14. Idiot Cheatriots*** fans booing the very tactic that Belicheat invented.
  15. It's worse for me. I have Tom Brady on my fantasy football team. I have zero idea how I'm even supposed to feel on the majority of plays. Yeah, I'm pulling for the Jets and yes, it's largely because I like Rex and despise Belicheat.
  16. You're an uncouth and unsavory character. It's one of the things I like about you.
  17. Well it's that or giving the benefit of the doubt to two rookie wideouts, one who is playing in his first NFL game.
  18. I'm assuming that you're explaining that you may have overstated some things to make your point? That's a common mistake on forums. It's almost essential to say exactly what you mean because even when you succeed in being precise with your language, people will misinterpret your message, both intentionally and unintentionally. Better never to exaggerate.
  19. You've been maintaining that Brady has played like crap. I think your opinion is very wrong. If you would like my insults to be more direct I could probably oblige but I prefer it this way. Geno makes some awesome throws when he has a clean pocket.
  20. So you're basing his performance on one pass? I love live game threads for the very particular reason that you get a real feel for how knowledgeable people are regarding football.
  21. I agree. The losses of Vereen and Amendola are pretty significant.
