  1. Sit with and tailgate with other Bills fans: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/161706-just-bought-a-ticket-for-this-sundays-game-in-new-jersey/#entry2912392
  2. Bump. And can you change the thread title to help out those posting in similar threads, asking about Bills-Jets tickets? Thanks.
  3. Although the Bills are trending towards being a team which can pick the best player available. When you reach that point, you increase your odds of draft success. It'll be interesting to see if Whaley adheres to Nix's philosophy of drafting tackles and moving them to guard if they don't show well at tackle. Interestingly, Colin Brown was a tackle for much of his football career due probably to his height. Nix's philosophy is an interesting one because interior line is a slightly different skill set from tackle so if you move a guy inside, he has to be able to play with good pad level and leverage for instance. However I believe that Hairston is out for the season. Anyways, two years ago I wanted the Bills to draft Cordy in the first round. They got him in the second. This past year I wanted the Bills to take EJ at number 8. They traded down, got Kiko, and still got EJ. This is kind of like being in heaven right now. I'm ecstatic with our premium picks from the last two drafts. And kudos to Buddy for the Urbik signing.
  4. As always, great stuff Mike! But I have to ask, why did you take a picture of Billy Buffalo's ass? Not that, you know. Easley's a beast. He looks like a tight end.
  5. I took Mario in my fantasy league which requires that we draft 4 D-linemen (and start 2) because I knew that he would be a major weapon in Pettine's arsenal. So far, so good.
  6. OMG yes! All the strombolis you and Mrs Mead made were wonderful and I was very impressed that you were still perfecting your recipes, trying to turn the volume up to eleven. Between you and mrags, I was almost in physical pain from eating. I was actually feeling a lot of anxiety before kickoff and I finally realized that it was from eating so much!
  7. Ironically if you read the story, you'll see that he did live life to the fullest. Possibly he lived life too fully. Late nights at work every day, very little sleep, tons of extracurricular activities, socially active.
  8. I'm not saying we'll beat Cinci but I think that as you suggest, people who are reserved about the Bengals probably feel that way because of Dalton. He's not disproven the idea that he was a high-floor, low-ceiling quarterback. If he's improved in 3 seasons it's been very incremental and I certainly don't view him as a guy who can win a Super Bowl. Dalton really is a game manager, not demonstrably better than backups like Matt Moore and Shaun Hill. As for Bills-Jets, after reading through this topic there are definitely a shyt ton of intriguing story lines. I think the Bills win but in a close game. p.s.- Matt Hasselbeck could probably start and improve the quarterbacking on at least 6-7 teams in the league right now. Can you imagine Hasselbeck starting for Minny instead of Ponder? For him to be a backup QB is quite a luxury for Indy. I guess I bring this up because I feel like Hasselbeck would be an improvement for the Jets and for Cinci.
  9. Mario is an interesting player. Unlike Bruce Smith, he's not a super polished pass rusher with a wide array of different moves. Mario's game is based more on pure speed and power like Reggie White's was and a bit less on perfect footwork and fluid movements like Bruce had. Aldon Smith reminds me a great deal of Mario with his freakish combination of speed, quickness, and power. Robert Quinn and Von Miller are more polished than Aldon but Aldon is the super freak athlete. Mario's a bigger version of Aldon Smith. And like Webster Guy pointed out, Mario never "loops" his pass rush. If he doesn't get to the QB he'll at least block a passing lane and help trap the pocket.
  10. The only time he really interacted with an opponent is after catching a short ball over the middle and nearly getting decapitated by LB Thomas Davis: "Hey you're running way too fast boy, now c'mon!" Even to the point of talking to himself: "C'mon now 13, let's help this defense out." So then it's true what the others have been saying about you!!!
  11. I think some of it does come down to the kind of energy you bring but part of it is also the luck of the draw.
  12. BTW, how was your roadie to Orchard Park? Hope you had a great time.
  13. Sounds like a very special couple, Edson and his wife. I was quite taken aback when Marrone broke down at his post game press conference. After reading the Post-Standard story, it's easy to understand why.
  14. Are they complaining that there are strippers at the tailgates or that the strippers are overweight? I'm confused.
  15. Excellent point. I think a non-call would have been a better decision by the official although I understand how some might disagree.
  16. Thanks very much. I really appreciate it. EJ's a very talented player and I think the sky's the limit for him. I think he's only scratching the surface and the fact that he can play so well so early on is very exciting. I could be wrong but I think he'll become an elite quarterback. I'm just holding my breath as to when he might have "one of those games" that all rookies have.
  17. ^^^^^^^^^^^ Thanks for the thoughtful response. You'll see that I've never invoked statistics when arguing that EJ played well. You'll also see that I've never said that he won't get better. It just amazes me that people can say stupid things like "he played poorly for 58 minutes" when completely ignoring the context that this is a rookie playing in his 2nd regular season game and moreover, a rookie who missed half the preseason with an injury. Anyone who would compare EJ's performance to that of an established NFL quarterback when he's only played two regular season games in his career is a moron.
  18. Perfect description. Jerry deals in ex post facto. The next time he tells us something before it actually happens will be the first time. He is not a keen observer. Tells it like it is? More like belaboring the obvious. If you like writing without insight, knock yourself out.
  19. Well that's true too. It was boneheaded. But the little player skirmish they had going had no bearing on the play at all. That's why I think the punishment didn't fit the crime.
  20. I actually feel pretty confident about this. Cleveland is horrible and I believe we play Baltimore at home and so far this year, the Ravens have been pretty bad.
  21. Also Tampa Bay's offense is pretty bad. Basically the Nyets have played a bad offense and a neutered offense.
