  1. I don't know if your thought is a dumb one but it sure is cold. Very cold. There's only one way to interpret this so you're mincing words.
  2. You're overreacting. There were zero personal attacks from me or anyone else directed to you. If I missed it please point it out to me. On the other hand some of the things you said… What happened in this thread is that you made the remark that Merriman hasn't done crap in 5 years. It was then pointed out to you by others that Merriman had two outstanding seasons AFTER he served his suspension for steroid use. He led the league in sacks with 17 in just 12 games in 2006 (after the 4-game suspension) and had 12.5 sacks the following season. Merriman has tested positive only once in 20 drug tests. Everyone backed up their posts with facts however you backed up your opinion with rhetoric and more opinion and zero facts. But because I take you to task on your comments, I'm making a "personal attack?" edit: And the post of yours that I replied to was pretty all over the place… unclear to say the least. This might be helpful: What exactly are you trying to say about Merriman (you don't have to reiterate the part about TMZ and banging girls)?
  3. I see you were lucid enough to spell McFumbles so I'm skeptical of your excuse.
  4. In addition, why would anyone want to reference a Pittsburgh Steelers defense in a Bills nickname? Great stuff. Keep posting and welcome to the board.
  5. Many teams have their entire playbook on iPads along with video cutups of each play for illustrative purposes. This also helps if the "playbook" is lost or stolen… without the security code it becomes extremely difficult to hack into… much more secure than a paperbound playbook. As far as the original post, like K-9 said, down and distance situations can be reacted to much more quickly via study and memorization… or by having everything written on a sheet. In other words, the way it's done now.
  6. He might have taken out an insurance policy against injury. It wouldn't be the first time that has happened.
  7. Problem is they would be hexed right from the start.
  8. Yes you admit that you are far from an expert, yet you choose to cast aspersions on Merriman. When a person tests positive for a banned substance in the NFL program, that player is made subject to increased testing. After testing positive once, he never tested positive again. Are you saying that Merriman is cheating or that he's cheating more than other NFL players? What makes you think masking is prevalent and the NFL program is ineffective? Why do some players still test positive for steroids if cheating/masking are so easy? Why do you think that Merriman is cheating? Are Terrence McGee and Demetrius Bell also cheaters because they are injury prone?
  9. A few disclaimers first: I remember mentioning when Aaron Maybin was drafted that I found it odd that he was running with the 3rd stringers in the OTA immediately following the draft. Many people here advised me that it was not significant and to not read too much into it. It is very early and some of the present starters are seemingly based on seniority, giving the proper respect to tenured veterans. Injuries have also dictated starters at several positions. While Maybin was third string in his first team workouts, one of the surprise starters at this albeit very early date is first rounder Stephon Gilmore. Just as interesting is that the other starting cornerback at this moment is Leodis McKelvin. Of course Terrence McGee is not working out yet and McKelvin split snaps with Aaron Williams. Kyle Williams is also not participating right now so the "next man up" is… Dwan Edwards. Similar injury situations exist at wide receiver with Stevie Johnson not participating and offensive line with Eric Wood not yet ready to practice. At RDE, Chris Kelsay is the starter at this moment ahead of Mark Anderson although Gailey said in his remarks today that he considers his top 4 DEs to all be starters. Perhaps most significant is on the offensive line where Cordy Glenn has already been installed at LOT with Chris Hairston working out at right tackle for the injured Eric Pears. 10. You don't have to explain to me what a disappointment he's become. I think that's obvious to everyone. I just think it's kind of funny how you were "leading the charge" when the team acquired him and now you act as if you were just another Sanbornite and not his most vocal supporter. Whatever dude.
  11. I'd hate to read what Non-Footballguys.com wrote about the Bills.
  12. Revisionist history. I'm not gonna go looking for it but when they signed him in 2009 you repeatedly posted that he was a "franchise-caliber long-snapper." You can argue that it's not the same thing but I can argue that it is. I swear we need a way to keep track of the things posters say around here.
  13. BTW,I think you missed your bi-monthly Walter Cherepinsky message last week. You ought to consolidate it with your Bleacher Report message just to keep things more simply organized. You forgot "washed up." They're kind of like the "unwritten rules of baseball." There's a bunch of them. One of them is that you don't post about an article without linking to it. Another is that you take everything Crayonz posts at face value…
  14. I don't think your insult to Lurker was appropriate. And if you're gonna make an ambiguous and easily misinterpreted post (which you did), expect to be corrected here very often.
  15. So 15-1 wouldn't be a dream season and 1-15 wouldn't be a nightmare? Thanks for clearing that up.
  16. It comes from the fact (that has been repeated numerous times on this forum and even in this thread) that Carrington is listed as a DT on the Bills roster. For someone who spends a lot of time here, I'm surprised you didn't know that. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster.html
  17. Or that the "national media" thinks the Bills offense sucks and is unaware that Wood and Levitre were high draft picks?
  18. As long as we're critiquing each others behavior, what do you care what he does as far as talking them down from their price? One could just as validly say that you're acting stupidly for not doing so.
  19. Apparently not according to the OP or "the national media."
  20. Thank you for strengthening my points which were (in order): 1) James Walker's opinion is a status quo media opinion… in other words, the OP is way off in his thesis that the "national media" views the Bills offense as a train wreck. 2) Gailey's reputation (for the third time I parenthetically state "deserved or not") among the media is of a accomplished offensive strategist. I'm still waiting for the OP to return to this mess that he started and simply post one single story which would back up his point.
  21. Agreed. Even if you just count Bills games (16 weeks vs 17 weeks for the entire NFL), the cost is $12.40/week. That's ridiculously cheap, especially when you compare it to the cost of going out to a sports bar.
