  1. You might want to look up the definition of disingenuous. Also, you harped on the 9-win thing last season so actually in keeping to that, I guess you think the Bills should have replaced Gailey and Nix already. Few have yet has expressed this point but I'm sure some have thought it: I have more confidence in Nix as a GM than I do Gailey as a HC. IF things were to go south on the season, I could see a scenario where Buddy is retained but Gailey is fired. I like Chan, and am rooting for him, but continue to have reservations as to whether he's the right guy for the job.
  2. From Chris Brown: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Open-door-for-Gilbert--Moore/90da5f2f-d3e5-4e9e-95ff-12e61b3ea7ef?campaign=BillsBuzz "With Mark Anderson sidelined today, Kyle Moore not only got second team reps at defensive end, but first team reps as well. With the first unit he worked at left defensive end, then flipped over to the right side with the second group. Jarron Gilbert manned the left defensive end position with the second unit Monday all but confirming that he and Moore are the two young prospects the coaches want to see more of between now and final cuts Aug. 31st."
  3. A superb display of constant, chronic, unabated negativity. Dude, you need to pleasure yourself or something. You clearly aren't getting enough.
  4. Yes, but with a much better arm, some actual quick-twitch muscle fibers, and a much better public speaker (in spite of his allegedly low IQ). Go figure. BTW, watched Tebow vs the Giants this morning. He would be very effective running the statue of liberty play. His delivery is perfectly suited to that play. Seriously, I wonder if a person can get so muscle bound that they lose the ability to make quick explosive movements. Tebow's throwing and running are so deliberate and ponderous, it's painful to watch… and I've never seen a QB so muscle bound. Then when you factor in the embarrassment of watching body builder types attempt to throw a football and you can well imagine that too much bulk is not good for one's throwing mechanics. You lose the ability to be a human slingshot. Same deal with pitchers.
  5. So as to alleviate Hopeful's headaches: Here are the basic stipulations regarding the practice squad: - Players must not have an accrued season in the NFL, which could be a full year on the Injured Reserve. - Players must not have been active (or "dressing" for the 45-man roster on game days) for more than eight games in any given season they spent on a 53-man roster. - Players that served two seasons on a practice squad are only eligible for a third year if the team keeps 53 players on their roster throughout the duration of their time on that practice squad. A season on the practice squad is counted for being on it for merely three games in the first two seasons, and only one for the third.
  6. Yep. His ability to forklift blockers back into the QB is Klecko-esque. Justin Smith of the Niners is like that too. Sapp was also good at that.
  7. Thank you both. It may not have been CTE but that conclusion has yet to be drawn. Yes, it could have been non-CTE induced depression. "Invent a craze like brain damage." Incredible.
  8. I am a longshot to make the roster. In fact of matter the Bills never replied to my numerous solicitations and self-made workout videos imploring them to give me a try out. And yet I cling to my last precious embers of hope…
  9. If we want to be fair about the discussion, it is probably a factor that the Bills have changed defenses and have several players playing positions that they are not familiar with. I'm not an excuse maker in my life or on behalf of others but I think this is a valid point. Things in an NFL game happen in the tenths and hundredths of seconds so a small lapse in timing can be the difference between (mixing metaphors) a long fly out and a home run.
  10. Incidentally remembering his Dad as a Buffalo Bill, Gale had an excellent arm and was a good athlete. It didn't translate to him having much success as an NFL QB but then again, the same would have to be said for Andrew Luck's Dad, Oliver.
  11. Yeah, Drayton was a good Bill and I liked him but he was a liability in coverage last year. Great point about Aaron Williams' age. He just turned 22 in April which makes him younger than some of this year's rookie class. So that's something to take into account.
  12. That is exactly the right answer. Lots of excellent players with ordinary measurables. I think you've got your sitcoms confused. You're probably thinking of Dana Delany who first starred in China Beach and revived her career with Desperate Housewives.
  13. I'm not in favor of trading a 2nd rounder for him but I don't think Cousins looked bad against the Bills at all… for a guy in his first NFL game.
  14. See, I disagree with you. You might be surprised at what some of these teams might do. In Baltimore, Suggs is old and will miss the season with an achilles. Rice is a diminutive running back who has high mileage. Flacco is a sub-elite quarterback. In Houston, Schaub has not been offered a contract extension even though several of his teammates have been extended. The speculation is that the Texans are taking a wait-see attitude towards Schaub and don't view him as elite. Arian Foster is a great running back granted. Andre Johnson has been injury-prone in his last two seasons and might be on a steep downslope… he hasn't been the same player he was for at least two seasons. In Dallas, Romo is sub-elite by most opinion, Dez Bryant has done zero in his career and Miles Austin is again hampered with hamstring problems which washed out 2011 for him. Austin is not practicing and not expected to play this preseason. I think there's a good chance that all 3 teams would make this trade for Andrew Luck.
  15. With a name like Delano Howell, he can indulge in post-game cognacs with Nigel Bradham and Alex Carrington… that is if Carrington makes the team.
  16. As I mentioned a few times about Jackson, his $4 million salary for this year could diminish his desirability in the eyes of other teams. News today that he's willing to take a pay cut in order to facilitate a trade: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/19/tarvaris-jackson-willing-to-take-pay-cut-to-facilitate-trade/
  17. The other guy that was available that many liked was Laurent Robinson who signed with Jax.
  18. His rap sheet makes Jerome Simpson look like a choir boy. What a patently dishonest post. You either think we're a bunch of idiots or… You missed a key question. What would the cost be? Would the Bills trade a first rounder for Harvin? Of course not. Would the Bills trade a seventh rounder for Harvin? …
  19. To the bolded, just like a rookie cornerback is gonna get his baptism by fire. Actually Gilmore was beaten a few times against Minny. But yes, Glenn probably won't make the Pro Bowl as a rookie but he's looking damn good. The only thing I know is that every time I watched video of Mike Adams at Ohio State, he looked like a big, slow, ponderous, stiff.
