  1. Which brings us to the corollary of the "good teams" theorem. "Bad teams lose close football games."
  2. You mean Mario was trying to take credit for it? The guy's a total specimen and getting better each week. Now if only Troup can resurrect his career we can look back on the 2010 draft as a good one.
  3. Delano Howell re-signed? Now Alex Carrington and Nigel Bradham have their brandy drinking buddy back!
  4. And no one mentioned Robert Meachem in this thread unless I missed it. I think that's interesting. We're usually a pretty tough crowd.
  5. Gnight John-boy. Yeah I've always put Manning above Brady. I know a lot of people disagree with that but I'd rather have Peyton.
  6. Yeah I was foolishly skeptical of his ability to recover from the multiple neck surgeries. A freak of nature is exactly what he is. Adrian Peterson is kind of amazing too.
  7. So what exactly is your point? That the replacements were just as good as the regular officials and were unfairly criticized?
  8. Do yourself a favor. Read my posts in this topic and decide if I've been criticizing or defending Reid. Then Reid QDawg's post ("joke") and decide if he was criticizing or defending Reid. Or if you'd like, continue to dwell on meaningless minutiae.
  9. Yeah, and there would be about a half dozen other bad calls they wouldn't hear the end of either.
  10. Okay. So: Joke = Very successful coach. Gotcha. And if you want to espouse some honesty, it is clear that I don't think Reid is a joke. But that's up to you.
  11. Probably someday they'll have some sort of technology which helps to eliminate some of the human element in spotting the ball.
  12. Wrong. QDawg said Reid was a joke. I said that he's a bit pass happy and hasn't won a Super Bowl. Not sure what you're talking about. Forgot Bud Grant. Four Super Bowl appearances. Good call.
  13. Perfect ball placement… TD or incompletion. Zero chance of an INT.
  14. But Kelly threw a much nicer deep ball, LOL. I remember that one infamous game when Cutler and Rivers were jawing at each other. I couldn't decide which one of them I disliked more.
  15. And yet, post-Jim Johnson, Andy Reid's record has been 32-22 for a .593 winning percentage so not much of a dropoff from the Jim Johnson era.
  16. Not a big Rivers fan but he throws a ball very similar to Jim Kelly's. Good, not elite velocity. Extremely accurate and outstanding touch.
  17. Decker looked like he wanted to make amends for tripping over the 45 yard line.
  18. Speaking only for myself, I rarely listen to the announcers. I have the sound turned down right now because between inane announcers (Gruden tonight) and the elevated volume level of commercials, I often find NFL games to be unlistenable. I wish there was some way to only have the crowd noise and no talking heads.
  19. This would actually be a good topic: Who are the greatest coaches to never win a Super Bowl? Say what you want about Reid but he has a great record: Career record 129-82-1 (Regular Season) 10-9 (Postseason) 139-91-1 (Overall) Off the top of my head I'd say Chuck Knox, George Allen, Marv Levy, Marty Schottenheimer, and Reid have to be the best coaches to never win one.
  20. I agree. He'd never publicly admit to it but I think he's lost some too.
