  1. I have to disagree with you Cappy. There has been a lot of criticism of the Seahawks offensive scheme under Carroll. The one thing we know they can do is run the ball. But in three years, the Carroll-led Hawks have been very poor at throwing the ball. I've read and heard people questioning the design of their offense (however as I stated earlier, part of what's going on could be that they're playing things close to the vest due to having a rookie starting at QB). Regardless, FWIW (perhaps not much) the Seahawks had a team passer rating in 2011 of 77.6. The team passer rating was 72.1 in 2010 when Matt Hasselbeck started 14 games. So far this year, their team passer rating is at a 3-year high of 79.5 with Russell Wilson playing every snap. Try to imagine Wilson's stats had there not been 5 dropped passes last night including a possible TD by Turbin and 2 other downfield throws which would have been big chunks of yardage. If these balls were caught drives would have continued and confidence within the offense would have grown. Anyways, Wilson has put up the highest passer rating in Carroll's 3 years in spite of questionable offensive strategy and wide receivers who can't seem to catch consistently.
  2. Bills Backers of Tucson Daglio's 250 North Pantano Road Tucson, AZ 520-327-0186 Have you called them yet?
  3. I remember when you were agonizing over Promo vs The Furry Burry Creature. I think you made the right choice.
  4. So how does everyone feel about this throwback game? Lots of running, not much passing, and very little scoring? Wow. Seattle got very lucky there that Leroy Hill wasn't called for a personal foul. It would have given them a first and goal. Next play, Smith throws the interception on 3rd down. I betcha the league fines Hill. Aren't the officials gonna say that Lynch's forward progress was stopped?
  5. Spiller: "I’m always keeping an eye on him and making sure that he’s good. Sunday when I had the big run going towards the end zone, I came out and let Fred go in. He was able to punch it in. It’s all about just keeping an eye on each other. I thought I was in a good groove Sunday. We know that there’s only one football. You’re not going to get as many (touches) as you want. Would you want to? Yeah. But at the end of the day, you’re not because there’s only one and we have a lot of playmakers on this team. It’s a good thing to have. I’m glad that we have that problem.” http://wgr550.com/two-bills-drive/14558391
  6. By that logic, every team in the NFL would be having tackling issues. I think this is close to the mark.
  7. Still, he'd clear waivers and be a free agent. The Bills seem like they covet him and it's not difficult imagining that they win the TJax sweepstakes… without giving up a draft pick… for a player who the head coach says likely won't play this season. You're man has a few tough days at work and you're gonna divorce him? Wow. There's a difference between learning an NFL offense and teaching a dog when to drool. Start Brad Smith at QB, trade Freddy for Dwayne Bowe, voila. Championship!!!

  9. The whole "starter" discussion is immaterial, IMO. It's a ceremonial position. Freddy is a highly-respected team leader and an older vet. He should start. It's not like he sucks and starting the game hurts the Bills. The real issue is the ratio of touches. As I pointed out upthread, Spiller is getting 53% to 47% of touches between the two of them. Probably that number could be tweaked a bit.
  10. It seems like Ginn is pretty much defined at this point. Average receiver but great return man.
  11. Also is it just me or is it nice watching a little smash-mouth football?
  12. Yep. He made Richard Sherman look like a Canadian chick on that one run.
  13. Does it mean that the rest of the league was even stupider than the Bills?
  14. Russell Wilson has been victimized by drops on two nice throws.
  15. Kinda sobering he was born 10 days before me. Good stuff, Jim.
  16. No he didn't. Also, he's lost about 10-15 pounds since his last season in Buffalo. He's much quicker now.
  17. Niners are running the ball well so far. Brutal missed tackles on that Crabtree reception.
