  1. Trestman declined an interview with the Bills 3 years ago? I don't remember hearing that.
  2. As Mencken once said, "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." Insert gratuitous urine joke here. You gave him a point and you don't know what it is?
  3. The Bills are coming off a bye. They've had two weeks to figure things out. If they were ever gonna surprise us, this would be the week. See? Once again I've rationalized how the Bills will win this week.
  4. I'll see your Romeo Crennel and raise you a Norv Turner.
  5. I heard he also wants a bigger beverage cooler. LOL. BTW, I see your avatar is the aforementioned locker room beverage cooler. Anyways, the way I interpret Mario's description of the procedure is that it's gobble gobble turkey for jive turkey gobblers.
  6. Again, a guy a few people here have touted over the last few years (as recently as before Gailey was hired). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Trestman The guy is a bit of a Sabanesque vagabond but a damn good football coach and a brilliant offensive mind. He is very responsible for Rich Gannon's unprecedented late-career surge. For those not familiar, you should read the Wiki entry. It's very interesting reading.
  7. Arguably it's not about the money as much as it is the character of the people involved. Regardless of not knowing all the gory details, one can safely say that this is a sad spectacle.
  8. Thank you. A very small handful of people have been pointing this out since the consecutive blowouts to New England and San Francisco. There are many motivating factors: money, professionalism, pride, and BELIEF IN THEIR LEADER. When you have incompetent managers who squander your effort due to their ineptitude, you soon destroy the spirit and belief within the team. Bottom line, if the Bills believed in Wanny, they would play hard because they'd know their efforts were likely to be rewarded. However they know that every Sunday, they are being put in a position of failure due to their leader being outcoached by their opponent's leader. The players know that even if they were to give the utmost effort, that their efforts would be wasted. At some point the group becomes demoralized because they have zero belief in their leader. When a team quits on a coach, they are saying "I'm not playing for this guy anymore. You can fire all of us or you can fire him."
  9. The theory is that Jimmy Spags and Crayonz have both been banished from the board. This has actually been corroborated off the record by some insiders here. There's a further unconfirmed theory that Crayonz and Spags are the same person.
  10. We already have one and like the Giants, we don't use him.
  11. Why would the Jets be distracted by the weather if the Dolphins weren't?
  12. Which reminds me, are you still "beating anorexia?"
  13. Yep, Besides needing several games to evaluate a team, teams are also up and down. However at this early juncture, it looks like Miami has an argument that they've surpassed both the Jets and the Bills on the divisional ladder.
  14. My point is that if Gailey wants to critique and understand the weaknesses of Wanny's defense, he has the ability to critique and understand it. As an offensive coordinator Gailey has the knowledge to understand why his defense sucks. It's only a matter of if he's choosing to pay attention or not.
  15. Bill! How could you? Okay, I'll do this weeks: I told Althea that I'm a roving sign that I was born to be a bachelor Althea told me, okay that's fine So now I'm out trying to catch her
  16. They could trade for him and then, deactivate him. That seems to be the M.O.
  17. I'd read somewhere that it was a good year for Johnsons.
  18. I'd be all for that. Well there's always the Erie Canal mule team barge.
  19. Good point. Not all sabermetrics are created equal. There's a really interesting discussion in MLB about which metric best reflects the Most Valuable Player debate between Mike Trout and Miguel Cabrera. Some of the conversations are very interesting, almost enough to make one want to study statistics. The specific conversation was a criticism of WAR (wins above replacement) as a measure of MVP because WAR apparently doesn't take into account when during the game, certain events occur, similar to the point that Hopeful was making.
