  1. For those of you who were in the stadium last Thursday night, you can find yourself in the stadium using this fun, interactive photo: http://gigapixel.panoramas.com/buffalobills/ I wonder if the guy who ended up dying is in this photo?
  2. I consider Dez Bryant to be a bust so far because of his so-so play (he has not made a Pro Bowl in spite of your claim to the contrary) and because of his numerous off-the-field issues including stealing $860,000 from a jeweler, beating up his Mom, and being banned from a shopping mall. Yes, he's a very talented player and in fact some draft experts considered him the best player in the 2010 draft but he's yet to make good on that talent. Are you aware that the Cowboys placed a curfew on Bryant this season and that he has a 24-hour, around-the-clock security detail babysitting him? The Cowboys did this because he was sliding into oblivion and they felt they needed to protect their investment. So you would rather have had the Bills draft him than CJ Spiller? As for Jimmy Clausen, he was a 2nd rounder taken in 2010. He's Carolina's third string QB. You don't consider that a bust? This guy has "drafted" 3 Pro Bowlers in 5 drafts? Color me unimpressed. I've "drafted" better than that.
  3. I'm very touched by her words and had an even stronger respect for her than I did before (it was mostly ogling). BTW, longtime NHL play by play guy Mike "Doc" Emrick who has no human children, took a year off from his career to care for his dying dog. As a media member, taking a year off for family reasons is a bit of a risk. But one he was willing to take.
  4. He's the 3rd string quarterback in Carolina behind Cam Newton and Derek Anderson. In other words, he's on the endangered species list and will soon be going the way of the dodo and the passenger pigeon. BTW Senator, health and happiness to you on this Thanksgiving Holidays. All our best to you and yours.
  5. It was inevitable. He's already the Voice of the Bills. And he has a big, expensive house in Eagle Heights. I don't blame him. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do to take care of his family. As long as it's not illegal or immoral.
  6. Thank you. And color me pessimistic but in spite of my own wishes, the Bills are not gonna win out.
  7. Not that it absolves the Bills, but there's people on this board who could draft better than that.
  8. The Bills only signed him after failing to convince Jason Gildon to make another comeback attempt. On the other hand, most of the guys on the practice squad are making more money than they would doing virtually anything else. These guys make a minimum (they can be paid more) of $5700 a week so that's $96,900 per season. Also, the practice squad is the quintessential "low-responsibility, high-compensation" job. Yes, they're being scrutinized and evaluated by the coaching staff but aside from that, there's no pressure on them from media and fans and they can still draw 100K for a season. For a person with dreams of playing in the NFL, that's a pretty good deal, IMO. The team feeds them, trains them, teaches them, and pays them a good salary.
  9. I think they're married but from what I can tell, it's not a good relationship.
  10. To critique his list: In 2009, Lawrence Sidbury is still with Atlanta and he is a decent depth player. With the release of Ray Edwards, there's a chance that Sidbury will get a chance to show his wares. And the Bills drafted Shawn Nelson instead of Sidbury (I was fairly upset by this) so he'd still be a better pick than what our "consensus GM" picked in that draft. Jamon Meredith was with the Bills and failed to make the grade. He and Oher are pretty much a moot point right now. And no, Oher has not made a Pro Bowl. As for 2010, Dez Bryant has not made the Pro Bowl, at least not as a wide receiver. We were MUCH better off taking Spiller. Bryant has been a bust up until this past week when injuries to Cleveland's top 3 CBs and being booed by the home fans finally enabled him to put up good numbers. Jimmy Clausen is a bust. In 2011, Prince Amukamura has been a bust and has only gotten playing time due to a mass of injuries at CB. He could still prove to be a good player but so far he's been a huge disappointment. Bowers had some injury concerns in college and those concerns have followed him to the NFL. I badly wanted the Bills to draft Mason Foster. In the last several years, my favorite linebackers were he and Lavonte David. Both of them are now starting in Tampa Bay, David as a rookie. I would have to say that I'm not too impressed by this guy's list.
  11. One of the true gems of the Southtowns, in bucolic, Rockwellian East Aurora. Awesome food and beers served in frosted mugs. Yeah if we're gonna boost downtown and its latest triumphs, the restored Lafayette Hotel is supposed to be very nice. If I were visiting and looking for a place to eat/stay, I'd at least look into this. http://thehotellafayette.com/ p.s.-- And when I say awesome food at BarBill, I'm talking about the wings and beef on weck. Superb food, great friendly service and homey atmosphere. And if you're gonna stay in Orchard Park or the Southtowns, you might as well dine at the Big Tree near the stadium. Just don't do it on Sunday. Finally if you want another recommendation for an American-style Italian restaurant aside from Chef's, Ilio DePaolo's has to be mentioned. Very popular with the Bills players, and very significant in Buffalo Bills lore. This is where Jim Kelly proposed to Jill. http://www.iliodipaolos.com/
  12. He was excommunicated from his own team's message board for being too much of a homer.
  13. Which is a shame because Ralph got a deal on a bunch of those monaural earphones that you can plug into a transistor radio. Beethoven just doesn't sound as good in mono through a cheap earphone.
  14. Let's also not forget the person (Belichick in SB XXV) who pioneered the use of fake injuries to slow down no-huddle attacks. He has a long and illustrious history of cheating. But according to Cheatriots*** fan, this is alright. Apparently because cheating does happen from time to time, it's alright to do. Also there's nothing wrong with putting up your mistress in a house while you're married.
  15. It's alright fellas. According to Cheatriots*** fans, everyone cheats so it's acceptable. Make sure to let your children know.
  16. If this matchup ever happened, you can be sure the officiating would decide the game in favor of the Cheatriots***. I would guarantee you that there would be no fewer than 4 egregious calls against the Bills.
  17. Didn't Burfict go undrafted? Why then spend a 3rd on him? The Bills could have taken a 7th round flyer on him.
  18. Well Kaepernick has a pretty good pedigree so in spite of only having started one game, it's not like he's come out of nowhere. Plenty of people loved the kid and obviously the Niners traded up to grab him. One could argue that his success was predictable so the whole mindset that this kid hasn't done anything yet? Of course he hasn't but he looks poised for success and not failure AFAIC. As far as you stereotyping QBs, I would be careful about that. John Elway and Steve Young were running quarterback early in their careers before they learned the finer points of the position. Favre was a helter skelter fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants quarterback too. Just because Kaepernick can use his legs doesn't condemn him to a career as a non-elite quarterback.
  19. Yeah I'd heard Hammer was too aloof to sign autographs. I guess it's true.
  20. Linebackers we passed on? I really wanted the Bills to select Miles Burris. However the Bills must have liked Nigel Bradham better because they took him 24 picks ahead of Burris. I'm fine with that. I thought this last draft was the Bills best under this regime. But I would have liked if they'd taken one of the second tier QBs as well.
  21. Well it's not hindsight to state that lots of people here wanted the Bills to draft Kaepernick when he was available.
  22. Freshly-poured concrete or concrete that's already cured? Ah but unlike the catch against Green Bay, they got it right on the review.
