  1. One of the things that's changed since Polian's time is that the NFL draft was 12 rounds until 1993, and then it was 8 rounds in 1994 before becoming our present-day 7 round draft in 1995. Polian unearthed some gems in the late round so much of his success came later on in those lengthy drafts. Free agency was also evolving during that time so much has changed. It's interesting to see the picks however. Certainly not overly impressive. Finally, Polian along with Norm Pollom was also responsible for the 1985 Draft (after GM Terry Bledsoe was fired). The Bills selected Bruce Smith and Derrick Burroughs in the first round, Mark Traynowicz and Chris Burkett in the second round, and Frank Reich and Hal Garner in the third round. The 1985 draft was also the one in which the Bills selected Andre Reed and Dale Hellastrae in the fourth round. They had a lot of high picks in '85 and came away with some good players.
  2. Wow. Easy there, Killer. Participation in these threads IS voluntary. And you can add value or add crap.
  3. And the day before Thanksgiving. I'm sure he had some special episodes for that occasion. RIP, Mr. Food
  4. That "White Out" thing last season sucked. You're waving around linens which makes it harder to: a) Yell at the top of your lungs, and b) Clap your hands And of course there's the centuries long connotation of white with surrender. Of course the Bills lost that game. Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit. These franchises are some combination of cursed and incompetent. Must be the water.
  5. He doesn't teach in the Wilson School District does he?
  6. Bingo. Around the goal line, I'd like to see both of them in the game. Except for possibly Stevie, FJ and CJ are our two best offensive players. You don't take your best guys out of the game in the red zone.
  7. Draftek is in the business of the draft. They don't take weeks off although everyone else is free to do so if they wish.
  8. JohnC makes a good point. By setting things up in a linear/sequential curve it arguably takes longer for the team to reach playoff caliber. The other way is to build the team with the young QB all at the same time. This was the case with Jim Kelly, Joe Montana and others. In other words the stocking of the roster and the selection of the franchise quarterback doesn't have to be an "A then B" situation.
  9. Funny story. And no need to apologize. It seems like BSL is a fitting acronym for something else.
  10. I saw a nature show where a capybara was deboned by a school of piranha. It was pretty cool.
  11. What if your grandfather doesn't like dogs? Also, does BSL stand for what I think it stands for?
  12. I thought you were more of a Scooby doo fan. BTW, we still can't locate you on that Gigapixel. What were you out in the concourse starting trouble again? Puking on a guy and his young children?
  13. "McKelvin gets a ticket for disrupting a flight" Would that be the first flight of any kind that McKelvin has disrupted? /rim shot
  14. Yeah I saw that too. I think he must have been texting from his phone and meant: Steer clear of the Anchor Bar. For bar food try the Big Tree Inn or Barbill. Not sure about mammosers though. Isn't that the champagne/OJ drink they serve at brunches?
  15. Damn whippersnappers. Damn parents and teachers of whippersnappers. Of course it isn't. There's no good reason that Lee would ever be in Buffalo. I bet Hammer put you up to this just to promote his parking lot.
  16. The same week he wins AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. I'm surprised that Leodis would apparently act in a disobedient way. He seems like a pretty nice guy.
  17. Home for the holidays? I thought you lived out this ways. And what are your impressions?
