  1. Cam Jordan with the strip… seemed like it should have been forward progress.
  2. I think the Saints critics will be able to say that they threw the ball too much. If you can't protect your quarterback and you have a good running attack…
  3. The contrast in QB performance is very interesting. Brees has looked dynamic but 3 picks. Meanwhile Ryan is playing mistake-free football. Is Brees hurt from that Abraham hit? Two wobbly throws in a row.
  4. Really? Any team in the NFL could have had him for so little? Big stop by the Saints D. Still 7.
  5. Unfortunately true. Jeez, Lofton is in on every play.
  6. In any game, there are a handful of plays where the ball is up for grabs. If you can improve your team's performance in this area by 10%… oooh, bad one by Brees. Or minus 3.
  7. Interesting. It seems like since he's been coaching, with the lone exception of Byrd (who had the skills beforehand) none of Catavolos' can be accused of being a good ball athlete. If anything, they seem to show no progress in that department. If I were a DB coach, there would be A LOT of ball drills… tip drills, jugs machine, loose ball drills, etc.
  8. Yeah Thomas-Freddy is a good comparison. I think Thomas is a tiny bit more compact and so avoids the direct hits a bit better. And he does it so artistically and so technically sound. Soundly? Getting that long FG almost makes up for one of the non-TD red zone visits.
  9. Oh man, Sproles is gonna be mad at himself.
  10. GREAT play. He's one of the great finesse cornerbacks of his time.
  11. Also the Saints are minus 2. If they could get a turnover that would be huge.
  12. His talent is undeniable but when you compare his intensity to guys like Thomas, Ivory, and Sproles, it doesn't come close. He's still playing like a rookie at times.
  13. A lot of great players out there. If Nicholas was Lofton, that would have been a much more difficult completion. Oh! Near miss on Moore. I guess Ingram thought he was still at Alabama.
  14. Unbelievably, that's even worse than the Bills using a photo of Brian Moorman punting out of his own end zone in soliciting their own season ticket holders. I think Pearl Howardman is the resident expert on the New York geography and it's affects on the Bills markets.
  15. Yeah I missed the first quarter or so. Good for the Saints that they're receiving. That's helpful because their margin is very slim right now. Colston had the crap kicked out of him last week and look at him helping to carry his team. If you were his teammate, how could you not be inspired?
  16. That's unbelievably classless. I understand there's been trash talking going on but for the club itself to slander a former player… talk about taking the low road. Great finish by Lofton, forcing the sack by denying Rodgers the ball and then helping tackle Snelling short of the first down. Unreal that the Saints came away with zero there. That might be the play of the game. The Saints are a good but flawed team. They've definitely struggled on D but they still have good talent there. Not sure what the problem is. I know they've had a few DCs in the last little while. On the positive side, Cameron Jordan has made huge strides this year, getting better every week. In the early vetting process, I was very high on him and wouldn't have been against the Bills taking him at #3. Glad we got Dareus of course but Cam's coming on after being misused last year.
  17. Yeah Lofton has never gotten the credit he's due. I don't think he's ever made a Pro Bowl even though he's one of the top inside backers in the game. It must be a huge game for him playing his former team. Brees stepped it up on that drive.
  18. One thing I've noticed about Brees is that due to perhaps physical limitations, he's not as eloquent in buying time with his feet as are Rodgers or even Romo. Don't get me wrong, I consider Brees to be elite but that pass that was intercepted was a case of him needing to use his feet to buy more time and find a better option. The RB wasn't even expecting the pass. Yeah the Saints need to pound the rock. It might be the best strategy in this game. Run to set up the pass and don't go pass happy.
  19. Hey BBF (Best Buddy Forever?). Getting carried away. Just got home from a long, rainy day of work. Looking forward to this one. In a bold fantasy move, I dropped my starting Individual Defensive Players (Poz and Courtland Finnegan) both of whom have done well for me and picked up and started the Saints starting safeties, Malcolm Jenkins and Roman Harper. I needed to do something dramatic because as an electrician, the only dramatic things I do are almost invariably bad. Yeah, Mayock was way off on that one. Any team in the NFL would take that coverage and effort on every play like that. Mayock should have been lauding the great play by Ryan and Gonzales. He was also off on the next series when Ryan missed Gonzales. That was an uncatchable ball unless you're Megatron or someone very close (AJ Green?).
  20. Thanks Kevin. You did the right thing no matter what anyone says.
  21. Are you aware that Mike Singletary has never been a defensive coordinator at any level?
