To add to what I stated two posts upthread, if either Wilson, Foles, or Cousins has a career exceeding TJ Graham, then one could legitimately place some blame on the Bills for a blowing the 2012 3rd round pick.

Is there anything resembling a precedent for this in any major (North American or otherwise) pro sport? I can't think of one off the top of my head. I'm gonna guess that the at-large damages for the postponement of an NFL game is enormous. Possibly into the hundreds of millions because of the rearrangement of the schedule.

Once again we're talking about the near term. In the Indy game, despite being poor on 3rd down defense, the Bills only allowed 13 points to the Colts offense. And somehow after giving away rushing yardage at a record setting pace earlier this year, the Bills have become stubborn against the run and only allowed the Colts 87 yards rushing. There's no question the team has been a big disappointment this year. But the defense has been pretty encouraging in the last 4 games.

Game, set, match, BFF. No one will be calling for Harbaugh's hide. He's a deity already. Except that CK was someone the Niners and their quarterback guru loved and traded up to draft. It's a bit too early to say that it was definitely the right move but lots of people would have been happy with Russell Wilson, Nick Foles, or Kirk Cousins instead of TJ Graham. Anyways regarding the Niners QB situation, yes CK has an extremely high ceiling but as a very inexperienced QB, he has a lower floor than Alex Smith. At least with Smith you have a known quantity (quality NFL starter). Undoubtedly the opposing DC are gonna cook up some things that CK hasn't seen yet and there'll be some rough spots as there always is for young QBs. The Niners hope is that his growing pains don't result in a loss that hurts their playoff seeding or knocks them out of the playoffs. CK is auditioning now and the Niners can evaluate on a continuing basis. If CK does anything to create too much doubt, they'll go back to Smith. I think the risk is minimal.

True but the Bills D on close examination actually played quite well against New England. New England was gift wrapped 3 first and goals at the 1-yard line and compare the first New England game to the second one. Night and day. I'm still trying to get past my anger at Wanny for having to be led by the hand towards a more aggressive and deceptive defensive style. His obstinance in going vanilla over the first half of the season was reminiscent of Chan's offensive stubbornness. It's almost like some combination of poor results, media coverage, and fan criticism reluctantly caused these men to reconsider their "strategies." I know the Bills surrendered 37 points to them but like I said it's a bit misleading if you examine the game closely. Also over the last month, the Bills are the only team to hold the Cheatriots*** to less than 45 points.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Actually on further review, that's just wrong.

Thanks. I don't follow the college game except for watching video during the run-up to the draft. I'm a bit surprised that teams have rules like this though I understand that some of these kids are pretty damn young to be commenting (on anything) on national television, radio, etc.

If the receiver had more presence of mind, he would have dropped the ball, thus stopping the clock and allowing them to take one more shot. No opinion on Murray though. I've only seen him on a small handful of plays.

Bonehead? Was the name calling necessary? I've never heard that Knox faked injuries to slow down Cinci so excuse my ignorance. As far as "not forgetting" goes, Chuck Knox retired from coaching after the 1994 season so I'm not understanding how he could have used the tactic in 1998. Good job "not forgetting."

One of the most disastrous seasons in the Chiefs history. This was a sinking, rudderless ship before this incident. It was pretty much determined that these men would be gone at season's end. What a sad slice of life. Perhaps the straw that broke the camel's back? Again, just speculation and I won't go farther than that for now.

Well of course I agree. Thing is, so would a lot of the people that you and I are judging. It's just a tough situation.

Well participating in the Bills live game threads is an opportunity to witness one of two things: 1) People's lack of football knowledge OR 2) The fact that they let their emotions cloud their perception. You talk about bipolar, manic, and inaccurate takes on certain plays. Like Section said above, mistakes are part of the game and they happen to everyone. But Bills fans overreact to an incompleted pass. I understand the causes of our collective reaction but some people need to take a step back.

The game had the makings of a good one but it kind of fell apart at the end, unfortunately. One for the ages as far as Brees is concerned. I guess the Saints need to look at offensive tackles.
